After Being Forced to Break Up I Got Pregnant with My Ex-Boyfriend’s Baby Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Still Needs Me to Feed

Jiang Jingchu walked quickly. Returning to the room, he saw a closed door, walked over, and knocked.

“Qin Huan?”

Qin Huan hadn’t been sleeping deeply. Hearing Jiang Jingchu calling her, she mumbled a response, weak and listless.

Jiang Jingchu didn’t hear a reply and knocked harder.

“Qin Huan, I’m calling you, can you hear me? If you don’t answer, I’m coming in!”

Qin Huan vaguely remembered washing her clothes after showering; she was only wearing a bathrobe. Afraid Jiang Jingchu would enter, she cleared her throat.

“I’m asleep, don’t come in.”

She thought her voice was loud enough, but to Jiang Jingchu, it sounded even weaker and more helpless.

Jiang Jingchu was worried. He knew Qin Huan was stubborn and even if she was unwell, she would try to endure it.

He decided to just go ahead and pushed the door open.

The bedroom was dark the warm light from the living room illuminated a slender figure slightly raised on the bed.

Jiang Jingchu felt inexplicably relieved, yet a dull ache throbbed in his chest.

He walked over, bent down, and touched Qin Huan’s forehead, feeling a hand full of sweat. His heart pounded.

“Qin Huan, what’s wrong?”

Qin Huan’s body curled slightly under the covers.

“Why did you come in?”

Jiang Jingchu’s tone was serious as he turned on the bedside lamp.

“I’m asking you a question. What’s wrong with you?”

The sudden light made Qin Huan unable to open her eyes. She raised her hand to shield them.

“Nothing, just menstrual cramps.”

Jiang Jingchu frowned.

“I haven’t seen you have such severe cramps before?”

He noticed her injured fingers were swollen and red. He took her hand without a word.

“Did you not take precautions when you showered tonight?”

Qin Huan shook her head; she hadn’t paid attention.

Jiang Jingchu worried about infection and made a move to lift Qin Huan.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you to the doctor.”

Qin Huan quickly shrank back. She was only wearing a bathrobe; how could she go out?

“I’m not going. Just get me some hot water.”

Jiang Jingchu’s face was cold.

“Do you think hot water cures everything? Get up.”

Qin Huan shrank back further.

“I said no, and I mean it. If you’re not going to get me water, then get out and don’t bother me while I sleep.”

She pretended to be angry, but her sickly appearance was like a kitten baring its teeth to Jiang Jingchu.

Jiang Jingchu remembered Qin Huan’s stubborn and fierce attitude whenever she had a disagreement with him in the past.

He felt a strange sense of nostalgia.

“Do you think I really care that much? We have lunch with the Lius tomorrow. Are you planning to go looking like this?”

Qin Huan bit her lip; he was worried about that.

Feeling wronged, she mustered her remaining strength to sit up.

“Okay, I’ll go now. Don’t worry, I won’t ruin your plans, Mr. Jiang.”

She moved towards the edge of the bed, her bathrobe loosening slightly. Jiang Jingchu inadvertently saw a glimpse of her fair and curvaceous body.

His narrow eyes narrowed slightly, his Adam’s apple bobbing uncontrollably.

“Where are your clothes?”

Qin Huan, feeling unwell, reacted slowly.  Realizing, she looked down and quickly covered her chest, her cheeks flushed.

“I washed them, they’re not dry.”

Jiang Jingchu finally understood why she had been hiding under the covers, unwilling to see a doctor.

He took out his phone and dialed a few numbers.

“Gao Fei, have Dr. Lin come over.”

“Yes, now.  Just for menstrual cramps, oh, and her finger is injured. Have Dr. Lin bring some antibiotics.”

He glanced at Qin Huan, scoffing.

“What are you covering up? I’ve seen everything on you.”

Not only seen, but touched, kissed…

Qin Huan’s face reddened even more. Knowing she wouldn’t have to go to the doctor, she lay back down, turning her back to Jiang Jingchu.

She felt Jiang Jingchu standing by her bed for a while before leaving.

Qin Huan silently sighed; it really was one thing after another.

Jiang Jingchu left Qin Huan’s bedroom and called room service.  A few moments later, a waiter brought a cup of brown sugar ginger tea.

Jiang Jingchu smelled it, finding the sweetness mixed with the slight spiciness of ginger unpleasant. He frowned.

“Is this really effective for menstrual cramps?”

The waiter was a young man who had worked at Yangmingshan for several years. Seeing the boss for the first time, he was nervous.

“I I think so. My girlfriend drinks this every time she has cramps.”

Jiang Jingchu waved his hand, gesturing for him to leave. He then carried the ginger tea inside.

“Didn’t you say you wanted hot water? Drink some.”

Qin Huan didn’t move.

“Put it on the bedside table; I’ll drink it later.”

Jiang Jingchu clicked his tongue.

“It’ll be cold by then; will it still work?”

He directly picked her up, half-sitting her up against the headboard, leaning against him.

Qin Huan sighed, trying to wriggle away, but Jiang Jingchu was strong. He held her with one arm and brought the cup to her lips with the other.

“Drink it yourself or should I feed you?”

Qin Huan was sweating, but he held her tighter, fearing he would really feed her.

“I’ll drink it myself, don’t feed me.”

Jiang Jingchu was satisfied, a slight smile playing on his lips. He looked down at Qin Huan in his arms.

Her lips had always been beautiful; now, they were slightly pale from illness.

Her lower lip was slightly pouted, occasionally sucking on the ginger tea, making Jiang Jingchu’s heart itch.

He couldn’t bear to look away. After finishing the brown sugar ginger tea, Qin Huan’s nose and forehead were covered in a thin layer of sweat, and her complexion had improved.

Jiang Jingchu also relaxed, his voice hoarse.

“Feeling better?”

Qin Huan nodded.

“Can you let go now?”

Jiang Jingchu’s arms were still around Qin Huan’s waist. After five years, he experienced the feeling of holding her again, and it still captivated him, making him reluctant to let go.

“What’s the rush? You just finished your tea; relax.”

Qin Huan knew what he was thinking. She turned and glared at him.

“Jiang Jingchu!”

Her lips accidentally brushed against Jiang Jingchu’s Adam’s apple, sending a jolt of electricity through him.

“Hmm?”

He tried to suppress the reaction in his lower body, his already low voice now husky.

“Why aren’t you calling me Mr. Jiang anymore?”

Qin Huan felt embarrassed, especially feeling the hardness of his body pressed against her back.  Anger flushed her face.

“Let go!”

Seeing Qin Huan was genuinely angry, Jiang Jingchu feared pushing too hard would backfire.

He calmly moved his hands away.

“Let go, let go.  You change your mind so quickly. Don’t forget who brought you tea and water.”

Qin Huan felt better and spoke with more strength.

“If it weren’t for you, my finger wouldn’t be injured, and I wouldn’t be suffering here.”

Jiang Jingchu laughed, about to scold her for being ungrateful, when the doorbell rang.

Jiang Jingchu straightened his clothes and strode to the door.

Qin Huan felt her face burn. For a moment, she felt that Jiang Jingchu had some ulterior motives.

She raised her hand to cool her burning cheeks, thinking that after finishing the last act with Jiang Jingchu tomorrow, she had to go home immediately.
