Chapter 2: Fickle, Vixen
A man in a green military uniform, his brows furrowed in a chilling expression, looked like an enraged beast, ready to lose control and tear someone apart at any moment.
He moved with lightning speed, pinning a man against the wall in two swift, decisive moves.
Shen Sisi was terrified by this sudden turn of events. She seized the opportunity to break free, retreating behind a table with Niu Niu, instinctively shielding her child with her body.
Her eyes were fixed on the broad back in front of her.
“Picking on a woman in broad daylight, you’re asking for death…”
His voice was harsh and domineering. Shen Sisi found it vaguely familiar, causing her to falter.
Was it him?
Gu Chengfeng, dusty from his journey, rushed to the state-run restaurant immediately after getting off the train.
Unexpectedly, he witnessed someone brazenly bullying Shen Sisi!
His anger grew, his brows lowered, his whole being radiating a dark, stormy aura.
With just a flick of two fingers, Zhao Changjiang howled in pain, his strength completely neutralized.
Zhao Changjiang had learned a few moves and was a security guard in the guard department, capable of handling ordinary people, but he was subdued by just two fingers… This man was terrifying!
He was utterly helpless, like a chick, screaming in pain.
But Gu Chengfeng still wasn’t satisfied. Thinking of that hand that had just touched Shen Sisi, he felt like gouging out the man’s eyes.
In the past, Gu Chengfeng might have actually done it.
But not now. He was a soldier… A soldier had to abide by the rules and discipline of the army, he couldn’t act recklessly.
His green military uniform was like Sun Wukong’s magic ring, successfully restraining his rage.
Gu Chengfeng panted, the murderous aura in his eyes, clearly forged in the crucible of countless battles, sent a chill down one’s spine.
“Who… who are you? Do you know who I am?” Zhao Changjiang was sweating profusely from the pain, but with so many people watching, he had to maintain face.
“I don’t care who you are…” Gu Chengfeng leaned close to his ear, his voice raspy, each word distinct: “Come find me in the Southwest Wild Battle Zone One, Gu Chengfeng…”
Gu Chengfeng!!!
Zhao Changjiang’s legs trembled, almost wetting himself.
Who in Lin County didn’t know him, the living Yama…
The fiercest, most reckless fighter.
Rumor had it that his family was from Beijing, and because he was too wild and unruly, constantly causing trouble, his parents sent him to his aunt’s house in Lin County, where he became a local bully and almost dropped out of school.
Then, somehow, he suddenly turned over a new leaf and joined the army.
He had been gone for many years, but Gu Chengfeng’s name was still known throughout Lin County…
“Gu Chengfeng?” Shen Sisi had felt the soldier looked familiar: “Senior Gu?”
Years apart, Gu Chengfeng had grown taller and more handsome, with sword-like brows and bright eyes, except… his skin was tanned, and he hadn’t shaved, making him almost unrecognizable.
His temper was still as fiery as ever, quick to resort to fists, but… just like before, he only hit those who deserved it.
The originally fierce and cold Gu Chengfeng’s anger instantly subsided at Shen Sisi’s soft call!
After all these years, she had become even more radiant, impossible to ignore.
Although he recognized her instantly, Gu Chengfeng dared not show it, deliberately maintaining a distance.
“You’re… Miss Shen’s daughter, Shen Sisi?”
“Yes, yes, it’s me!” Shen Sisi’s eyes lit up at seeing him, unexpectedly meeting him in such an awkward situation.
“It’s really you, are you alright?” Gu Chengfeng suppressed his racing heart, maintaining politeness and restraint.
But he couldn’t help but sigh inwardly: Thankfully he rushed over right after getting off the train, thankfully it wasn’t too late.
Otherwise, Shen Sisi would have been bullied.
Shen Sisi rubbed her reddened wrist, feeling it wasn’t a serious injury: “I’m fine.”
But Gu Chengfeng’s eyes darkened; her hand was red, yet she was still pretending to be strong.
He couldn’t contain his anger, and kicked Zhao Changjiang again, almost breaking his leg: “In broad daylight, openly bullying a woman, are you tired of living?”
Zhao Changjiang had no idea they knew each other; otherwise, he wouldn’t dare bully Shen Sisi even if given ten lives.
He quickly cried for mercy: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have laid a hand on her, no, no, I shouldn’t have come on this blind date, shouldn’t have…”
Gu Chengfeng frowned, silencing him with a sharp glare.
Startled by his cold gaze, Niu Niu coughed a few times.
This uncle seemed even scarier than the previous one…
He also seemed to want to eat Mommy…
Gu Chengfeng’s gaze shifted to the little girl in Shen Sisi’s arms. She was thin as a monkey, coughing occasionally, with thick phlegm in her lungs, clearly seriously ill.
This… must be her daughter!
Her daughter was so big, yet she was still going on blind dates, could it be…
Gu Chengfeng’s gaze at Shen Sisi deepened, a hint of imperceptible heartache flashing across his eyes.
Seeing Gu Chengfeng’s unusual look at Shen Sisi, Zhao Changjiang, as a man, understood what was going on in his mind. He cursed inwardly: This Shen Sisi, truly a flirtatious vixen!
Good thing he didn’t marry her! Otherwise, he’d be wearing green hats every day!
Out of professional instinct, Gu Chengfeng keenly sensed the man’s vulgar gaze. He narrowed his eyes and swept a glance at him: “Apologize!”
Zhao Changjiang trembled, not daring to raise his head: “I’m sorry…”
He fiercely kicked Zhao Changjiang again: “Louder, did you not eat?”
“I’M SO-RRY!” Zhao Changjiang howled, his life was more important than face!
Shen Sisi, holding Niu Niu, was shocked by the sudden apology.
Over the years, countless people had insulted and berated her, but this was the first time someone apologized to her.
Of course, it was all thanks to Gu Chengfeng. It was his protection and iron-fisted methods that forced this thug to apologize.
She looked at Gu Chengfeng gratefully, only to find that his face was inexplicably red, from his cheeks to his ears.
Feeling Shen Sisi’s gaze, Gu Chengfeng stiffened his neck, not daring to respond, only roaring at Zhao Changjiang: “Get lost!”
Zhao Changjiang, relieved, fled in a panic, even losing a shoe.
Gu Chengfeng’s eyes were dark. Daring to bully Shen Sisi, breaking his arm was letting him off lightly!
Normally, he wouldn’t let this scum off so easily.
But this matter, ends here!
He didn’t want Shen Sisi to continue to be embarrassed.
Composing himself, Gu Chengfeng turned to the woman in front of him, a warmth spreading through his iron heart.
After all these years, he had become darker and rougher, but Shen Sisi hadn’t changed much.
If anything, she had grown taller, matured, and…
His gaze unconsciously fell on Shen Sisi’s fuller chest, his face flushing.
She had grown up!
And she was even more beautiful!
Perhaps due to the experiences of these years, she had shed her girlish naivety, exuding a resilient and strong aura, petite yet possessing immense inner strength.
For some reason, seeing her, all his rage, ferocity, and killing intent dissipated, replaced by a long-lost peace.
“Thank you just now… It’s fate, I didn’t expect you to help me out. Long time no see, I, I’ll treat you to dinner!”
Shen Sisi touched her cloth bag. Although she was short on money, treating him to a meal wasn’t a problem.
