The Beginning of Natural Disaster, I Won by Hoarding Tens of Billions of Supplies | Chapter 302: He Can’t Even Compare To His Dog?

The black moss grew quickly and could be used to feed poultry, which would eventually provide meat. However, eating only black moss wasn’t ideal, so they needed some vegetable seeds too.

They didn’t dare to ask those in Building 50 directly, so they turned to Qin Chuan. Qin Chuan was a shrewd middleman who usually spoke politely to the wealthy, but the situation had changed drastically.

Seeing the once-arrogant people bowing and scraping, Qin Chuan relished their fall from grace.

“Brother Qin, we really need your help with this. Please take care of it for us.”

Qin Chuan responded in a condescending tone, “I’ll give it a shot, but I can’t promise Building 50 will agree. Considering your past behavior… well, let’s not dwell on that.”

“Everyone is born equal. We respect Building 50, but our wives were misled and caused trouble. We’ve already disciplined them harshly.”

Businessmen knew how to adapt. They immediately accept the reality and adjust their attitudes. They realized that survival was more important than pride. Building 50 had resources and connections even Master Rong admired, and they wanted a piece of that.

Qin Chuan did bring it up with Jiang Ning. Feeling safe in their community, he and his son came over to Building 50 for hotpot. The cold weather made the spicy hotpot even more enjoyable, especially with a few sips of baijiu.

“We can’t just give in to their demands. We need to make them work for it. If it’s too easy, they won’t value us,” said Qin Chuan, an expert at manipulating customer psychology.

“Do you think when the eternal night ends, they won’t turn on us in a heartbeat?”

Jiang Ning agreed, the eternal night will last for three years, she needed to stockpile meat and eggs and couldn’t prioritize others right away. However, completely refusing wasn’t an option either. If others ate scraps while they feasted, it would cause resentment and trouble.

Jiang Ning had a plan but spoke as if consulting, “Brother Qin, how should we handle this?”

“Don’t give them anything right away. Let them wait a bit. But I do need a batch for Sharp mouthed monkey’s building. They’re united, and the black moss grows quickly, so feeding poultry isn’t an issue.”

Jiang Ning didn’t refuse Sharp-mouthed monkey and his group. However, their building was a commercial one, and the noise from poultry could attract unwanted attention and thieves. Poultry also consumed a lot.

“I’ll give them a few quail. They grow fast, lay plenty of eggs, and the hens are quiet with minimal smell.”

Qin Chuan laughed, “You think of everything, sister-in-law.”

Jiang Ning prepared four hens and one rooster for breeding. She wasn’t biased and intends to share the hatched chicks with everyone in the community. This way, everyone could have meat and avoid conflicts.

She also had chickens. When she bought fertilized eggs, the seller had given her 20. The chicks were tiny, coin-sized, but healthier than quails. They had just started laying eggs, and when she had more, she’d distribute those too.

Qin Chuan informed Sharp-mouthed monkey to come and collect the quails. Sharp-mouthed monkey did not hide anything. He brought the whole bounty hunter group and was determined to get the quails back safely.

With the joint efforts of the military, police, and civilians, the large-scale riots by the thugs didn’t last long.

There were those who had washed their hands of crime, those who took their supplies and fled into the mountains, and others continued their scattered acts of rebellion, which weren’t much different from their previous robberies. It was still risky, but things were getting calmer overall.

After several attempts, the gradually began provided some supplies to the community, but they only provide quails. They did not include the chickens, ducks, or geese. The quails weren’t given for free and were distributed strategically.

They were first given to those who were friendly towards Building 50 and who didn’t cause much trouble. Qin Chuan spoke mysteriously, “There aren’t many. Building 50 knows you’re trustworthy, so they set aside a pair for you. Just keep it quiet since there’s not enough to go around.”

The recipient was moved, realizing that Building 50 wasn’t so unapproachable after all. They decided not to follow others in causing trouble; choosing the wrong side had consequences.

Only a few pairs were given out, enough to solve the egg and meat problem if raised well, but not enough to let them eat too well.

….

Doudou celebrated her 10th birthday during the eternal night. The first time they met, she had a soft, adorable face and shy eyes. In five years, the little girl had grown taller and her body had started to develop.

However, she was still as sweet and cute as ever. The Huo family had good genes. Not only was Huo Yishen handsome with a stern look, but Douou also had the features of a future beauty. But being pretty in the apocalypse wasn’t advantageous; it attracted too much attention.

To protect herself, she had to be much stronger than others. With sufficient nutrition, children grew quickly, and Huo Yishen wasn’t well-prepared for this, leaving Doudou without proper clothes.

Although there were many clothes stored, they weren’t suitable for Doudou. Jiang Ning found some fabric and tried making new clothes for her. Her sewing skills weren’t great, but she managed to make something wearable.

Doudou was delighted and spent a long time trying on the new clothes.

After her birthday, Huo Yishen took his sister on patrol. At ten, children in peacetime could still be pampered, but in the apocalypse, they had to start becoming independent or else there’s greater hardships in the future. A single mistake could cost them their lives.

Jiang Ning felt a bit reluctant but chose to respect Huo Yishen’s way of teaching.

Qin Chuan, always quick to copy good ideas. He immediately took his son out as well. “You’re two years older than Doudou. From today, you need to be a man. Your father will rely on you for protection in the future.”

Since playing with Doudou, his son’s personality had become much more lively. The daily martial arts practice made him stronger and healthier and he no longer got sick.

Having good neighbors made his life much easier!

Despite the freezing weather, Qin Mu was excited. “Doudou, wait for me!”

It was unusual for children to join adults on patrol, but some had seen Doudou once kick a security guard’s jaw out of place, and they didn’t underestimate her. Some even felt envious.

The comparison was harsh. While their children were sleeping soundly in warm beds, they were risking their lives patrolling. They regretted not raising their kids better.

The next day, the patrol team grew. Several billionaires, frustrated and emotional, pulled their sons and daughters from their beds and shouted, “Look at the kid from Building 50. Not only the ten-year-old girl but you aren’t even as good as their dog!

From today, if you don’t train and improve your survival skills, expect the thugs to come and slaughter you. I didn’t raise my children to be useless pigs who only eat and wait to die!”
