Chapter 10
Only after stepping out of the cabin and standing on the grassy lawn did You Mi realize just how vast this estate truly was.
It was far larger than any villa district he’d visited during his old clothes recycling days. The endless stretches of lawns and gardens stretched into forests and pastures in the distance. Birds soared through the sky, apple trees stood nearby, and a small river meandered through the property. At the center stood an opulent villa.
The place exuded an air of both romance and solemnity, yet upon closer inspection, there was an inexplicable undercurrent of bone-chilling coldness.
Following Carl inside, You Mi was stunned once more upon entering the grand hall.
Beneath every massive door and window stood an equally impressive miniature version. Next to all normal-sized household items designed for Sina Star People were smaller, scaled-down counterparts.
You Mi stared in astonishment until Carl suddenly bowed beside him. “Greetings to His Highness Anshus…”
Snapping his head up, You Mi noticed the figure standing on the upper floor—
More accurately, it was a monster with demonic horns, black wings, and dark scales.
The same one he’d seen that day!
Fumbling to mimic Carl’s bow, You Mi barely had time to bend before the creature swiftly descended and strode directly toward him.
The disabled Imperial Crown Prince silently gazed down, his golden eyes fixed intently on You Mi. Those eyes radiated a cold, damp aura like moss in shadow. You Mi froze under the scrutiny, too nervous to move.
Bathed in a shaft of sunlight streaming through the window, he stood unaware that he appeared draped in a golden veil of light, resembling an ethereal spirit from an oil painting.
Anshus found himself unable to look away.
When You Mi shot Carl a helpless glance, the latter stepped forward smoothly. Following protocol, Carl formally introduced them before whispering reassuringly to You Mi, “Don’t worry. In just two more days, His Highness will have his Humanoid Skin Suit.”
Nodding, You Mi gathered his courage to address the towering creature. “Greetings, Your Highness Anshus.”
In response, Anshus extended his hand.
A handshake?
You Mi politely reached out, only to be abruptly lifted into the air by that massive hand!
“Mimi…” Anshus murmured his name while gently touching the sheep horns on his head…
You Mi’s face paled. Terrified that his disguise might be discovered if the horns were removed, he pressed his lips together and held his breath.
Perhaps sensing his fear, the monster’s hands stilled momentarily before carefully setting him back down.
“Your Highness,” Carl interjected quickly, “You Mi has just arrived and will be staying here long-term. Perhaps I should first show him around the estate?”
At the mention of “long-term,” Anshus’s expression visibly softened. “Mm.”
Once outside the villa, You Mi trailed after Carl like a little shadow. While touring the grounds, he suddenly remembered Lin En’s instructions. Seizing a bathroom break, he made a quick call.
“Lin En, I’ve arrived.”
“How is it there?”
“The environment is wonderful, and my colleagues seem nice. It’s just… just…”
“Just what? They’re not bullying you because you’re small, are they?!” Lin En’s voice sharpened with concern.
“No,” You Mi said, “He didn’t bully me. He just can’t take human form… so it was a bit uncomfortable at first.”
Lin En finally relaxed and then gave her some tips on how to interact with disabled Sina Star People.
You Mi memorized them all.
After they left, Carl thought she might be tired and smilingly led her onto a small aircraft, letting her tour the entire estate from above.
You Mi kept snapping photos while admiring the view.
Carl assumed she was just capturing memories and unconsciously showed a doting smile.
Just as Carl itched to take a few photos for her, he suddenly saw You Mi open her Optical Brain and save all the pictures into an album titled **[Prevent Getting Lost]**.
Carl: “…”
After the tour, Carl smiled and told her, “Don’t worry if you can’t remember the way. There are plenty of surveillance cameras here. Even if you get lost, someone will find you and bring you back safely.”
You Mi nodded. “Understood.”
Carl continued, “Starting today, His Highness Crown Prince Anshus will personally take care of you. Nine to five, with your free time after work. However, to avoid complications, we’d like you to stay on the estate during weekdays.” He then handed her a small metallic bracelet. “Please swap your Alarm Bracelet for this one.”
You Mi examined the bracelet curiously. “…What is this?”
“It’s a protective sensor. You don’t need to do anything—if His Highness shows any signs of entering a frenzied state, the bracelet will vibrate to alert you. At the same time, our team will receive the alarm and rush to protect you. And in the worst-case scenario, if we can’t reach you in time, just pull this tiny button here. The sensor will deploy a safety sphere, instantly encasing you inside. No one will be able to harm you then.” Carl spoke earnestly. “Additionally, we’ve arranged a psychologist for you, in case you experience distress during work…”
There’s even a psychologist!
You Mi was clearly surprised.
Carl chuckled. “For your safety, we held meetings to discuss various solutions. This is the most foolproof method.”
“Thank you! I’ll cooperate fully with the experiment!”
“Cough!” Carl nearly choked, torn between laughter and exasperation. “E-experiment… Please, never say that in front of the Crown Prince.”
You Mi nodded, pressing her lips together in a vow of secrecy.
When they returned to the hall, it was already lunchtime. Anshus, who had been waiting for her, eagerly led her to the dining room.
Knowing her job had officially begun, You Mi remained cooperative when the massive creature carefully washed her hands with its enormous claws, then lifted her onto a chair and served her food. “Thank you.”
All her tension vanished the moment she saw the table full of delicacies she had never tasted before.
So fragrant, so delicious…
You Mi sampled a bit of every dish and was soon full.
Anshus didn’t seem hungry at all. Seeing she had finished eating, it extended its sharp claws again to wipe her hands, its gaze lingering on her tiny sheep horns.
Carl didn’t dare breathe. He watched the Crown Prince’s lethal claws closely, only relaxing once he confirmed they never once harmed You Mi.
After the meal, the cook brought out several small plates of desserts, all placed in front of You Mi.
Among them was a signature cherry mini-cake from Garlo Restaurant.
Clearly, this was specially prepared for You Mi by Anshus.
You Mi quickly pushed the desserts toward the center of the table: “Your Highness Anshus, you should have some too.”
The monster paused, then suddenly picked up one of the cakes, used a fork to cut a small piece, and brought it to You Mi’s lips.
You Mi stared at him blankly, then remembered his mission and instinctively opened his mouth.
So delicious!!!
But after just a few bites, he felt the urgent need to relieve himself.
You Mi had drunk a lot of water while touring the manor in the morning and now couldn’t hold it any longer. He whispered, “Excuse me… where is the restroom?”
Anshus stood up, ready to take him there.
You Mi panicked and waved his hands frantically. “I can go by myself! Could you wait here for me, please?”
With that, he slipped off the chair in a hurry and looked at Anshus again.
His eyes were so sincere—Carl could swear no one could refuse such a look!
Sure enough, Anshus’s demeanor softened slightly, and he gave a slight nod.
You Mi immediately dashed in the direction Carl had pointed.
Soon after, the sound of flushing water echoed as You Mi finished up and came out to wash his hands.
Under the sink, there was an even smaller sink, just the right height for him.
In the hallway leading back to the main hall, there was a high platform at the corner. You Mi had been in too much of a hurry to notice it earlier, but on his way back, he spotted a cat perched there.
The cat was hiding on the platform, perhaps timid, revealing only its large head as its eyes darted around warily.
Surprised, You Mi approached. “…Meow?”
……
Meanwhile, in the dining room.
A sudden alert sounded from the main screen on the wall—a warning triggered by someone touching the surveillance camera.
“What’s going on?” Carl thought the newly replaced camera had malfunctioned and hurried to check. “It was working perfectly during the earlier inspection…”
The manor’s internal surveillance cameras had just been replaced the day before. Originally, they had a standard design, but Carl had suggested the Crown Prince switch them to pet-like models to make You Mi feel more at home.
Never had he imagined they’d malfunction on the very first day!
In Carl’s experience, the Crown Prince’s private manor was heavily guarded, and it was broad daylight—no outsider could possibly enter, and those inside would never tamper with the cameras. Naturally, his first assumption was a technical glitch.
But the moment he opened the main screen, Carl gasped in shock.
On the bright screen was a pair of wide, round eyes staring back!
The large main screen displayed a live feed from one of the surveillance cameras:
You Mi, with his two tiny goat horns, was straining on tiptoe, tilting his head up to peer closely at something. His eyes brimmed with curiosity, which soon turned to concern.
From this angle, You Mi appeared with an oversized head and a tiny body, looking even more doll-like than an actual doll.
Then, in the footage, You Mi bent over in frustration. He seemed to find something to stand on, and when he straightened up again, his face suddenly loomed much closer to the camera.
The main screen picked up the sound of the boy’s breathing, along with a few determined grunts.
“Huff… hmm… huff…”
Finally, those bright, lively eyes blinked, and the next moment, his eyelashes and forehead were practically pressed against the lens. “Don’t be scared, kitty. Let me carry you down, okay?”
“……”
Carl, now with a nosebleed, turned around. Before he could speak, Anshus abruptly rose from the dining table and strode swiftly toward the hallway.
