Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad! Chapter 6: Call Me Baby, Hubby Can Call Me Baby

Mo Xuchen, dressed neatly, pushed open the bedroom door. Ji Yunzhi’s eyes instantly lit up when he saw Mo Xuchen walk in, completely forgetting his vow from last night to ignore him.

“Hubby! You’re so handsome!”

Though Ji Yunzhi seemed a bit silly at first glance, his innate sense of aesthetics was still intact. Ordinary people couldn’t catch his eye—only someone like Mo Xuchen could earn such heartfelt praise from him.

Mo Xuchen: “…”

“Don’t call me hubby.”

Ji Yunzhi’s delicate little face fell. Stubbornly turning his head to the side, he pouted and muttered softly,

“I’m gonna call you that anyway…”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

He was getting more and more temperamental.

Or perhaps he’d always been this way…

“Don’t call me that.”

Ji Yunzhi: “I will!”

Mo Xuchen pinched the bridge of his nose and threatened with a calm expression, “Call me that again, and I’ll kick you out.”

Ji Yunzhi immediately clapped both hands over his mouth, his round eyes wide as he stared pitifully at Mo Xuchen. Muffled, he whimpered,

“Hubby… don’t kick me out…”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

Forget it. Why was he even arguing with someone whose brain was damaged?

“Do you remember your name at all?”

Ji Yunzhi scratched his head, frowned, and thought hard for a while before finally shaking his head with a miserable expression.

“Oh no… hubby.”

“I don’t remember my name. They all called me ‘little fool’—am I really an idiot?!”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

That clear yet utterly clueless gaze really did make him seem like a little fool.

Ji Yunzhi’s exquisitely beautiful face scrunched up in distress, but soon his eyes brightened as he looked at Mo Xuchen.

“Hubby, I know what my name is now!”

Mo Xuchen, seeing his expression, actually thought he might have remembered something.

“What is it?”

Ji Yunzhi grinned and shuffled to the edge of the bed, wrapping his arms around Mo Xuchen’s waist and looking up to answer:

“Baby. Hubby can call me baby.”

That’s what those two people on the street had called each other.

Mo Xuchen: “…”

He really didn’t know what he’d been expecting…

Gripping Ji Yunzhi’s shoulders, he pried him off and pushed him away.

“Your age, where you lived—do you remember any of that?”

As soon as he asked, Mo Xuchen realized he was being stupid—these were all pointless questions.

If this guy knew where he lived, he would’ve gone home long ago instead of rummaging through trash bins for food…

How could someone who didn’t even remember his name be expected to recall these things?

Ji Yunzhi couldn’t remember. He knocked on his own head, trying hard to recall something, but it just made his head hurt terribly.

“My head hurts…”

Mo Xuchen watched his pained expression and let out a soft “tsk,” grabbing his hand to stop him.

“Alright, don’t think about it. Go wash your face and brush your teeth.”

After speaking, Mo Xuchen turned to leave, but he paused after one step and glanced back at Ji Yunzhi.

“Do you know how to wash your face and brush your teeth?”

Ji Yunzhi angrily punched the bed and huffed,

“Hubby! I’m not an idiot!”

“Of course I know how to wash my face and brush my teeth…”

Mo Xuchen raised an eyebrow, crossed his arms, and stood there, seemingly waiting to see if Ji Yunzhi actually could.

Ji Yunzhi threw off the blankets, marched off the bed with great determination, and headed to the bathroom to prove to Mo Xuchen that he absolutely could!!

As he passed by Mo Xuchen, Ji Yunzhi gave him a light, disdainful hum—who asked him to look down on people?

Ji Yunzhi bared his teeth at Mo Xuchen while vigorously brushing, mumbling through a mouthful of foam:

“See? I told you I knew how.”

Mo Xuchen gave him a thumbs-up and praised half-heartedly:

“Mhm, very impressive.”

Then he turned and walked away.

Ji Yunzhi happily shook his head a couple of times, gave himself a thumbs-up in the mirror, and grinned, mimicking Mo Xuchen’s tone:

“Very impressive!”

After finishing his morning routine, Ji Yunzhi stepped out of the room and curiously surveyed the villa. For a moment, only two words came to mind:

So big!!!

Such a huge house…

When he went downstairs and saw Mo Xuchen sitting at the dining table, his eyes instantly sparkled. The sight of the table laden with all kinds of food made his eyes widen even further, and his stomach let out a timely growl.

Mo Xuchen glanced at him, set aside the tablet he’d been using for work, and said coolly:

“Sit.”

“Okay!”

Ji Yunzhi obediently pulled out a chair and sat down, clasping his hands on the table, fingers tapping rhythmically.

His eyes were glued to the table—steamed buns, dumplings, and all sorts of things he didn’t even know the names of. He swallowed hard.

Mo Xuchen watched him with faint amusement. This guy was kind of entertaining—saliva practically dripping, yet he just stared without making a move.

“Go ahead.”

Ji Yunzhi gulped again, eyeing the feast before him.

“Can I eat all of it?”

“Mhm.”

With Mo Xuchen’s permission, Ji Yunzhi happily chirped, “Thank you, hubby!” and immediately reached out to grab a steamed bun.

Mo Xuchen stopped him just in time: “Use chopsticks.”

Ji Yunzhi’s hand froze mid-air, hovering over the bun, then quickly retracted. He obediently picked up his chopsticks.

Mo Xuchen raised an eyebrow, watching Ji Yunzhi devour his food with gusto before picking up his own chopsticks to eat alongside him.

He pushed a glass of milk toward Ji Yunzhi and reminded him, “Eat slowly.”

Ji Yunzhi nodded, cheeks stuffed full, yet his eyes remained fixed on the other dishes on the table.

He looked as if he was afraid the food would disappear if he so much as blinked.

Ji Yunzhi ate happily, unconsciously swinging his feet under the table.

Hehe~ Calling him “hubby” really works!

Hubby always gives me good food. As long as I’m with him, I’ll never go hungry again!

But then Ji Yunzhi realized he’d eaten way too much, while Mo Xuchen hadn’t had much at all.

Was hubby not eating because he was worried I wouldn’t get enough? Did he save it all for me?

That can’t be!

Hubby still has to go to work! He needs to eat more so he has energy to work.

Only if he works can he earn money, and only then will I not go hungry.

Thinking this, Ji Yunzhi’s round eyes scanned the table before he very generously picked up a dumpling and placed it in Mo Xuchen’s bowl.

“Hubby, eat more.”

After this one dumpling, the rest are all mine!

Mo Xuchen had already finished eating. He placed the dumpling back into Ji Yunzhi’s bowl. “I’m full. You have it.”

Ji Yunzhi: !!!

Happiness came so suddenly.

He stuffed the dumpling into his mouth in one bite, beamed at Mo Xuchen, and then focused entirely on finishing breakfast.

Mo Xuchen watched as Ji Yunzhi nearly polished off the entire table of food. After hesitating for a moment, he finally spoke up:

“That’s enough. Stop eating.”
