At that moment, outside the Space.
A fierce tiger was lurking in the forest, its eyes fixed on the group.
Through the Space, Shang Ruoyi happened to meet the tiger’s gaze.
Instantly, her clothes were drenched in sweat.
In her past life, such highly aggressive beasts were dealt with using guns. Even in close combat, she would at least have a sharp weapon in hand.
The idea of killing a tiger barehanded only existed in legends like *Water Margin*.
But now, everyone except her was under the influence of the sleeping gas, leaving only He Jingheng—barely functional.
The combat power of a tiger was fundamentally different from that of wolves. Otherwise, why wouldn’t wolf packs be the kings of beasts?
A single tiger fighting a pack of wolves was no mere myth.
Shang Ruoyi withdrew her consciousness from the Space and opened her eyes, warily scanning the depths of the dense forest.
He Jingheng looked at her, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. “When did you wake up?”
“Just now,” she replied without turning her head, her gaze unwavering on the forest. “Do you see it?”
In truth, He Jingheng had sensed the tiger’s approach the moment its presence drew near.
He had been about to act when Shang Ruoyi opened her eyes.
“See what?”
“You know what I’m talking about.”
“Just a small tiger. Is it really worth your tension?”
Shang Ruoyi felt a flicker of joy at his words—until he added leisurely, “Of course, that’s only if I weren’t injured.”
So you’re just spouting nonsense?
For the first time, Shang Ruoyi truly understood the saying, “Men are unreliable.”
The next moment, a tiger emerged from the dense forest, its massive head swaying as it stepped forward slowly.
When the tiger fully revealed itself, Shang Ruoyi’s eyes visibly brightened.
This tiger was significantly larger than ordinary tigers, its entire body snow-white, its stripes shimmering brilliantly under the moonlight.
So beautiful!
If she could tame it for her own use…
Her eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of excitement in her voice as she said to He Jingheng, “Take care of yourself.” With that, she strode straight toward the White Tiger.
Having lived in these mountains for years, the White Tiger had never encountered a human so eager to throw themselves into its jaws.
For a moment, it froze in surprise.
By the time it snapped out of its daze, Shang Ruoyi was already almost upon it.
The tiger actually took a few steps back.
Suddenly, as if waking from a dream, it realized it had been intimidated by a mere human.
Its tiger dignity was severely challenged, and a low growl rumbled in its throat.
He Jingheng gripped a Sleeve Arrow in his hand, ready to strike at any moment.
But to his surprise, Shang Ruoyi didn’t dodge or evade—instead, she sprinted straight toward the White Tiger.
Two stones shot from her hand, flying toward the tiger’s face.
An ambush! Humans truly were cunning! The tiger dodged nimbly, but Shang Ruoyi’s lips curled into a faint smile. Now was the moment!
She leaped past the White Tiger and dashed into the dense forest.
Turning her head, she taunted, “Can’t catch me!”
The White Tiger was mildly enraged. How dare she provoke it! Without hesitation, it turned and chased her deep into the woods.
He Jingheng’s grip on the Sleeve Arrow tightened, but by now, it was too late to shoot at the tiger.
He could only watch helplessly as Shang Ruoyi and the tiger disappeared into the distance.
After running for a while, Shang Ruoyi turned around—the White Tiger was already right behind her.
Panting heavily, she met the tiger’s fierce glare.
Her stamina had reached its limit.
Though her body had been enhanced by the Spirit Spring, its endurance still had inherent flaws.
She pulled out a bowl of Spirit Spring Water and gulped it down, feeling some strength return.
Shang Ruoyi didn’t notice how the White Tiger’s gaze abruptly changed when she took out the Spirit Spring.
It licked its lips, eyes fixed unwaveringly on the bowl in her hand—or more precisely, what was inside the bowl.
Shang Ruoyi tossed the bowl aside.
Before it even hit the ground, the White Tiger shot toward it like an arrow.
It frantically lapped up the remaining Spirit Spring Water in the bowl, the clattering sound of the bowl hitting the ground ringing out. Shang Ruoyi’s eyes darkened—how had a proper tiger turned into something resembling a dog? Could it be because of the Spirit Spring Water?
She took out another bowl and filled it with water.
As soon as the Spirit Spring Water appeared, the White Tiger looked over again.
Just as she thought.
Shang Ruoyi smiled and shook the bowl in her hand. “Want some?”
The White Tiger stared at her in confusion, then slowly nodded its massive head.
She took a step closer but accidentally spilled some of the water.
The tiger’s tail flicked twice before it took a few steps forward.
Shang Ruoyi quickly said, “Stop!”
The White Tiger obediently halted.
She grinned. “Sit.”
Though hesitant, after a brief pause, it sat down.
Taming a beast had never been so easy.
She moved forward a few more steps until she was just an arm’s length away from the tiger.
She reached out her hand, and the White Tiger stared at it blankly.
Shang Ruoyi said slowly, “Shake!”
Shake? Shake a paw?!
It was utterly resistant to the idea. But just then, Shang Ruoyi waved the bowl of water in front of it again. “If you want a drink, you have to shake.”
The White Tiger blinked. The scent of the water was undeniably tempting—no, not just tempting, downright irresistible to a tiger.
This time, it hesitated much longer. After all, this was a matter of tiger dignity.
But nothing could change the nature of a true foodie.
In the end, it reluctantly extended its paw.
In an instant, the world around them shifted. By the time the tiger realized what had happened, they were no longer in the dense forest.
The White Tiger stared blankly at the unfamiliar surroundings. Where was its territory? Its mountain? Its den?
But the air here smelled amazing!
Suddenly, it spotted the spring not far away, and its eyes instantly lit up.
It dashed to the water’s edge and drank greedily until it was completely full.
When it looked back at Shang Ruoyi, all traces of wariness and hostility had vanished.
“From today onward, you’re my tiger.” Shang Ruoyi hadn’t expected to tame a beast so easily.
The White Tiger rolled happily in the grass, only to spot a rabbit grazing in the distance.
Just as it prepared to chase, Shang Ruoyi shouted, “If you dare eat that, I’ll stew you tonight and make Tiger Bone Soup!”
The White Tiger, already poised to sprint, froze and flattened itself against the ground in fear.
Shang Ruoyi walked over and patted its head. “Good. From now on, your name is Xiao Bai.”
Though it disliked the name, it didn’t dare protest.
Shang Ruoyi stepped out of the Space, grabbed a handful of dirt to smear on herself, and slowly made her way back to the camp.
When her figure appeared, He Jingheng sent two men flying with a single strike.
Shang Ruoyi only saw two shadows flash past but didn’t catch sight of anyone.
The others were still unconscious. He Jingheng looked at her, his clenched fists gradually relaxing.
“You’re alive.”
“Obviously,” Shang Ruoyi scoffed. “Or are you seeing a ghost right now?”
“Where’s the White Tiger?”
“She didn’t catch up to me, probably got lost in the dense forest.” She gave a hollow laugh as she walked over to him, patting his knee. “Didn’t expect you’d recover this quickly though.”
“Thanks to you,” He Jingheng replied indifferently.
Did she take him for a three-year-old?
A tiger couldn’t catch up to her?
A tiger got lost in the woods?
Who did she think she was fooling?
