Reborn Before the Apocalypse, I Emptied the World’s Supplies Chapter 31

Chapter 31: “Gods Can Try to Stop Me, I’ll Kill Them!”

Everyone exchanged a glance, and instinctively their eyes darted toward the elevator.

He Chunmei, who had been ready to continue arguing with Sudai and her husband, suddenly shut her mouth.

Watching this bizarre scene, Sudai couldn’t help shaking her head, whispering to Sun Jingtao:
“Honey, look at this scene—it’s like melodrama gave birth to more melodrama, reaching peak ridiculousness!”

She didn’t want to watch the spectacle or get involved, so she grabbed her husband and turned toward the stairwell in the fire escape.

“Ding!”

The elevator doors slowly opened.

Everyone had been ready to swarm forward, but when they saw Jiang Yan stride out, wielding a massive chainsaw with a menacing aura, they instinctively took a few steps back.

Jiang Yan stood 1.68 meters tall and wore eight-centimeter thick anti-slip, heat-resistant platform shoes.

She wore sunglasses and a slightly odd, sci-fi-looking aluminum foil heat-protective suit.

Slim though she was, her aura was immense, exuding sheer intimidation.

At first glance, she looked like a badass female soldier straight out of Resident Evil.

And the chainsaw in her hand buzzed loudly with an ear-piercing roar.

Even without anything else, her shock and fear factor maxed out instantly.

It was as if her face had “Gods Can Try to Stop Me, Buddhas Too” written across it.

He Chunmei wiped the sweat from her forehead, glanced at Zhang Qiqi, and whispered:
“Oh my god! That girl has a chainsaw—where did she even get that?!”

“Could it be borrowed from the first-floor property office? But theirs isn’t that big,” Zhang Qiqi said, puzzled for a moment.

When she had first moved in, she’d visited the property office twice and had seen a small chainsaw.

He Chunmei quickly realized what to do and gave a subtle signal to those around her.

Two children had been about to step forward toward Jiang Yan, but after glancing at the buzzing, screeching chainsaw, froze timidly.

Everyone’s rehearsed arguments stuck in their throats, unable to be voiced.

Before anyone could speak, Jiang Yan suddenly switched off the chainsaw, her aura sharp as she stared at the crowd and said, word by word:

“I’ll say this one last time—leave my doorstep within ten seconds, or don’t blame me for being ruthless!”

Jiang Yan didn’t want idle chatter; she aimed for a swift, decisive solution.

The crowd exchanged nervous glances for a moment.

Some had only joined earlier out of boredom, while a few mothers, having endured their husbands’ affairs during pregnancy, transferred their hatred for mistresses onto Jiang Yan.

Hearing He Chunmei’s provocation, they thought Jiang Yan was the “other woman” and were ready to punish her.

But looking at her stance, her aura, they realized she was untouchable.

Untouchable indeed.

Some quickly decided to step back and leave.

After all, it was just about using the AC, not risking their lives.

Zhang Qiqi noticed the crowd’s hesitation and smiled nervously, stepping forward:
“What’s the little sister doing? We’re neighbors, good friends, right? Let’s talk it out—”

“Slap!”

Before Zhang Qiqi could finish, Jiang Yan sneered and pressed the shiny chainsaw against her shoulder with force.

“!!!”

The cold metal and downward pressure made Zhang Qiqi flinch, pupils shrinking in shock.

“Heavens!!”

Everyone gasped in unison.

“Mom!”

Song Xiaofei, quick on his feet, dashed over and grabbed Jiang Yan’s calf:
“Auntie, please don’t hurt my mom!!”

“Heh, little girl, is it really necessary—” He Chunmei froze mid-sentence.

She saw Jiang Yan lightly twist her wrist, placing the chainsaw flat on Zhang Qiqi’s shoulder.

The teeth of the saw were inches away from her delicate neck.

Everyone wiped a bead of cold sweat for Zhang Qiqi.

If Jiang Yan’s finger accidentally triggered the power, Zhang Qiqi’s head could have been gone.

Technically, it was a lawful society, so she probably wouldn’t act recklessly.

But judging by her outfit and demeanor, she could very well be unhinged.

Would a lunatic kill in front of everyone?

Who knows.

Anything was possible.

Also, the barefoot often fear not the shoed.

These people, all dragging their families along, dared not provoke her.

But if she were to retaliate secretly against their elderly parents or children, what then?

Some began to lose nerve.

Some discreetly tried calling Yaoyao Ling, but the line was constantly busy.

A woman picked up her phone, perhaps to secretly record or livestream, but Jiang Yan’s gaze caught her.

“Put the phone down!” she barked.

The woman, stunned for a second, reluctantly lowered it.

Jiang Yan clenched her other fist and patiently added:
“Let me be clear: even if I lived in a thousand-square-meter house and slept on a five-hundred-square-meter bed, it has nothing to do with you! Whether I let you in or not is my choice, not your moral business.

But if you continue blocking my way home, that’s illegal—obstructing passage is a crime! If you choose to commit a crime, I won’t hesitate to see it through!!”

Her words were clearly aimed at the unruly crowd.

Most had already wanted to back off but were worried about losing face.

Hearing this, they muttered, looked down, and dispersed.

Jiang Yan remained at the elevator, and they didn’t dare approach.

They took the stairs down to the 31st floor to transfer to another elevator.

“Sister, what… what are you going to do?” Zhang Qiqi’s previous arrogance had vanished; seeing everyone leave, she trembled violently, face turning pale.

Jiang Yan gritted her teeth, coldly forcing out two words:
“I’ll slash you.”

“Slash… slash me? Why? I didn’t even say anything! If anyone should be punished, it should be He Chunmei! She’s the one stirring us up, calling you the other woman, saying you’re beyond redemption!!”

Zhang Qiqi gaped for a moment, pointing at the only remaining He Chunmei, wailing.

He Chunmei’s face went pale and green with anger, wishing she could immediately hit her.

Jiang Yan sneered:
“Slash you—need a reason?!”

She took a few quiet breaths.

She had imagined countless ways to deal with Zhang Qiqi.

But now—
Just endure a bit longer!
She must control her reason!

Zhang Qiqi felt a chill run down her back, legs weakening, almost collapsing in front of Jiang Yan.
