Chapter 1
All the big sects are a bunch of idiots.
Really.
This was Ye Qiao’s first thought upon transmigrating on her very first day.
She was a humble wage slave, working hard to complete her design drafts overnight. But when she woke up, she found herself in this world of swords and magic.
The original owner of this body was also named Ye Qiao, a child kindly picked up by Sect Leader Yun Hen from the foot of a mountain.
Yueqing Sect, one of the five major sects in the cultivation world.
A sect primarily focused on Qimen Dunjia, formation, and talisman drawing. Simply put, the personal disciples here are all mages.
Yun Hen, being kind-hearted, took her in as a disciple even though the original Ye Qiao had very poor aptitude.
When she was found, Ye Qiao was ranked second among the disciples, with two senior brothers. Although not spoiled, she lived decently within the sect. That is, until everything changed when the master brought a young girl from the mortal world.
Yun Hen, who was usually aloof, kept making exceptions for this mortal girl, eventually wanting to take her as a disciple despite her having no spiritual roots.
This puzzled the original owner greatly.
But Ye Qiao, holding the script, knew why. Because this was a popular novel.
The heroine, Yun Que, was a delicate beauty who would cry at the drop of a hat, making everyone fall madly in love with her.
As the title “The Big Bosses of the Cultivation World Are Madly in Love with Me” suggests, all the powerful figures in the cultivation world went crazy for her, fighting each other for her.
As the story progressed, with the arrival of this little sister, things became more absurd. The original owner gradually became a tool. When the little sister was in trouble, the second senior sister would step in. When the little sister was captured, the second senior sister would take the hit. When the little sister’s spiritual roots were damaged, they would dig out the second senior sister’s. In the end, she died from being pierced through the heart by her master’s sword.
Tragic.
Too tragic.
The most tragic character in the whole story was this tool, the second senior sister.
And now Ye Qiao had become this unfortunate second senior sister.
The scene before her only reinforced her belief that this sect was a bunch of purebred idiots.
Ye Qiao knelt on the cold stone floor of the hall. Yun Hen’s immense pressure weighed down on her, forcing her to lower her head and respectfully address him as “Master.”
Yun Hen responded indifferently, “Did you bring back the Ephemeral Grass?”
Ephemeral Grass grew at the bottom of the Demonic Abyss cliff and could heal damaged spiritual seas. Everyone in the three realms knew that the abyss below sealed demons, making entering it a near-death experience, with some even being devoured as nourishment.
Ye Qiao was relatively lucky; apart from her hands being corroded by demonic energy, she was unharmed.
“Senior Sister brought back the Ephemeral Grass.” The little junior brother, Su Zhuo, smiled.
“With the Ephemeral Grass, the little sister’s injuries will surely heal.” The senior brother also smiled, a rare sight compared to his usual cold demeanor.
The little sister was often sickly, causing him much concern. Now, with the grass to repair her spirit, she could get out of bed and walk around in a few days.
Even their usually stern master showed a hint of softness on his face. “Take the Ephemeral Grass to the Medicine Pavilion. After refining it, send it to Furong Court.”
A white herb floated out from her mustard seed space and into Yun Hen’s palm with a slight gesture.
No one had asked Ye Qiao for her consent from start to finish. In their eyes, she didn’t even have the right to object.
Ye Qiao watched this harmonious scene and coldly spoke up, “Master, when did I say the Ephemeral Grass was for the little sister?”
No one expected Ye Qiao to suddenly cause trouble. Su Zhuo was stunned for a few seconds before reluctantly explaining, “But the little sister needs this spiritual herb more than you…”
Ye Qiao’s aptitude was average, and breaking through to the Foundation Establishment stage would be impossible without the Ephemeral Grass.
When Su Zhuo heard she was going to fetch the herb, he couldn’t help but think of the little sister that the master brought back from the mortal world.
Both were young, but one could go to the Demonic Abyss to fetch herbs while the other was bedridden.
Su Zhuo felt a bit of pity and told the master about it.
“A Que is frail.” Yun Hen was dissatisfied with her attitude but still explained, “You are healthier than her. The Ephemeral Grass will be used for Yun Que first.”
“When the sect’s grand competition begins in the future, I will send your senior brother to the ancient battlefield to bring you another stalk of Ephemeral Grass.”
Ancient battlefield?
Setting aside the rarity of Ephemeral Grass, even if it exists in the secret realm of the ancient battlefield, how many prodigies gather for the sect’s once-a-century grand competition?
What guarantee does Yun Hen have that his two senior brothers will be able to seize the Ephemeral Grass?
Ye Qiao glanced at these three people, who were biased to the extreme, sneered coldly in her heart, and sarcastically said, “So, it’s justified if she’s weak, but I’m strong, so I deserve to die?”
Her usually obedient disciple suddenly retorted, which Yun Hen felt was offensive. His eyes turned cold, and he angrily scolded, “How dare you.”
The oppressive pressure of the Spirit Transformation Stage heavily weighed on her shoulders. The man flicked his wide sleeve coldly, and a gust of wind flew over, pinning Ye Qiao in place, unable to move or even dodge, slamming her hard into a white pillar.
The Demonic Abyss, rumored to be a place of near-certain death, hadn’t harmed the original host, but returning to the sect got her beaten like this by her master.
What a damn cultivation world.
“Born rebellious, not knowing the difference between superior and inferior,” Yun Hen coldly left these words and disappeared from sight.
“Get out and reflect on your actions in your own cave.”
Ye Qiao wiped the blood from her nose. Then, under everyone’s gaze, she slowly raised her middle finger at Yun Hen’s departing figure.
This was probably her last act of defiance as a cannon fodder female supporting character.
“Little senior sister,” Su Zhuo approached her, lowering his eyes slightly, and whispered, “I’m sorry.”
“I will repay you in the future.”
He felt guilty, as his selfishness had caused the little senior sister to be punished.
Ye Qiao wiped her blood, saw him approaching, and quickly retreated, warning him as if avoiding a plague, “Don’t come near.”
The male lead’s suitors should stay away from her.
Her merciless words left him somewhat stunned, not expecting the usually taciturn second senior sister to lose her temper like this.
The eldest senior brother couldn’t bear to watch, grabbed Ye Qiao’s wrist, and said in a deep voice, “Little sister, can you stop being petty?”
“The little sister can’t even get out of bed now; she needs the Ephemeral Grass more than you do.”
Ye Qiao’s hand was still injured. The pain from his grip made her gasp, suspecting that this jerk did it on purpose.
Not wanting to endure this, she raised her other hand and punched him in the face.
Zhai Chen quickly dodged, naturally letting go of her hand.
Ye Qiao covered her injured area, “So, you can just rob me?”
“So, Yueqing Sect got to where it is today by robbing others?”
Zhai Chen was stunned by her retort, “Why are you being so unreasonable?”
“Oh, right, right,” Ye Qiao nodded perfunctorily, “I’m heartless, I’m unrighteous, I’m unreasonable.”
“Go find your little sister.”
Initially, she had some expectations for the cultivation world, but after learning she was the unlucky cannon fodder who gets stabbed through the heart, Ye Qiao just wanted to live with a smile.
Leave her alone.
She was going to leave the mountain.
Having made up her mind, Ye Qiao ran without looking back at the two idiots, quickly opened her mustard seed pouch, and headed straight for the Destiny Hall.
Probably to highlight the protagonist’s beloved status, the other disciples were treated like weeds by Yun Hen.
And Ye Qiao was the most miserable among them.
The only thing of value was a mental cultivation method she received when she became a disciple.
She had very few spirit stones.
Among the hundreds of inner disciples in Yueqing Sect, each one was stronger than her; Ye Qiao was just a filler.
Not being a personally transmitted disciple, leaving the sect was easy.
She just had to return all the resources she had received over the years, notify the elder of the Destiny Hall, and she could leave with his approval.
Ye Qiao, who had nothing valuable on her, returned the spiritual artifacts and all the spirit stones.
The original host, due to her poor aptitude, was not favored by the elders. The Great Elder of the Destiny Hall tried hard to suppress his joy when he heard she was leaving the sect, not expecting this idiot to be so stupid.
Having gotten lucky to enter the inner sect and still wanting to leave.
“Do you need me to notify the sect leader?” The Great Elder rarely showed her a kind face, saying a few insincere words, “Which sect are you planning to go to after leaving? Do you need some spirit stones from the elder? After all, staying at an inn costs money.”
Thinking Ye Qiao would stay silent, she didn’t hesitate, “Yes.”
She shamelessly held out her hand, sincerely flattering him, “I never thought Yueqing Sect would have such a good person like you.”
The Great Elder: “…”
He was just being polite, but her flattery left him no choice.
His expression twisted for a moment, looking at this shameless Ye Qiao, deep in thought.
Was this child always so shameless?
Probably not.
In his impression, Ye Qiao had always been silent in the inner sect.
Ye Qiao calmly waited for his assistance. The original host was a diligent, loyal person willing to shed blood for the sect, but she wasn’t.
Without spirit stones, she would have to sleep on the streets after leaving the mountain. Since the Great Elder offered, she’d be a fool not to take it.
The Great Elder took out a heavy pouch, perhaps thinking she wouldn’t be coming back, and didn’t hold back, “There are a hundred mid-grade spirit stones inside.”
“Take them and leave.”
He waved her off.
Ye Qiao’s eyes lit up, sincerely, “Thank you, Great Elder.”
The Great Elder impatiently waved her off.
After leaving the Destiny Hall, Ye Qiao stored the spirit stones in her mustard seed pouch but heard someone behind her mutter, “Trash.”
Ye Qiao turned and looked at him, “What did you say?”
The male disciple didn’t expect her to hear. In fact, many in the sect were dissatisfied with Ye Qiao.
A disciple with mediocre talent, who didn’t even qualify for the outer sect of the five major sects, got lucky and was picked up by the sect leader, ending up in the inner sect.
Upon hearing that Ye Qiao was punished by the sect leader, many were gloating.
He was one of them.
Faced with Ye Qiao’s question, the male disciple’s face turned pale, and he stammered for a long time, “I…”
“Trash?”
Ye Qiao repeated, seeing him turn ashen with fear, and sincerely sighed, “You really know how to judge people accurately.”
“How about you take my place in the inner sect?”
The original host worked tirelessly for the sect, always the first to rush for resources to share with the outer sect brothers, but for what?
To have her spiritual root dug out by her master and be stabbed through the heart?
The male disciple was stunned.
“You’re right, I am trash.” Ye Qiao tossed her waist token to the male disciple, waved her hand, and said, “I can’t live up to the inner sect. Goodbye.”
The male disciple was completely dumbfounded.
He watched as Ye Qiao casually tossed the waist token into his arms and walked down the mountain without looking back.
The female protagonist has many clever tricks and often takes center stage in the sect. She can carry the whole scene alone. This story isn’t about giving up in the traditional sense—she still works hard when necessary. It’s a humorous and satisfying tale.
