Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad!
Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad! Chapter 11: Not Killed by the Crash, Just Brain Damage?

Two weeks ago, Ji Tianen went out with friends to a bar.

Caught up in the excitement, he made a bet with them and lost a million in one go.

To maintain his image in front of his parents, Ji Tianen couldn’t ask them for such a large sum all at once, let alone dare to tell Ji Mingsheng and Shen Yun about it.

It was his friends who came up with the idea—they suggested he trick Ji Yunzhi into working at that bar.

With Ji Yunzhi’s looks, earning a million would be a matter of minutes.

So, Ji Tianen went through the trouble of knocking Ji Yunzhi out and dragging him to the bar’s entrance.

Just as he was about to open the car door, Ji Yunzhi suddenly woke up, flung the door open, and bolted.

Ji Tianen quickly chased after him in the car. After pursuing him for a while, he slammed the accelerator, failed to brake in time, and rammed straight into Ji Yunzhi, sending him flying.

At the time, Ji Tianen even got out to check on Ji Yunzhi. After confirming he wasn’t breathing, he dragged him back into the car and discreetly dumped him at a garbage dump.

Because of this, Ji Tianen had been living in fear for days. He never expected Ji Yunzhi to show up in front of him, looking completely unharmed.

While Ji Tianen was lost in his thoughts, Ji Yunzhi raised his hand and asked:

“Um… excuse me, what’s your name?”

“What’s our relationship?”

Ji Tianen: “???”

“What did you say?”

Ji Yunzhi thought Ji Tianen hadn’t heard him clearly, so he patiently repeated himself, louder this time:

“What’s your name?”

“What’s our relationship?!”

Ji Tianen: “…”

“You don’t recognize me?”

Ji Yunzhi nodded, studying Ji Tianen carefully but failing to recall who he was.

Still, the guy looked pretty young, so he pressed on:

“Am I your older brother, or are you mine?”

Ji Tianen: “…”

Ji Yunzhi went missing at the age of five and wasn’t found by the Ji family until two years ago.

Ji Tianen was adopted by Ji Mingsheng and Shen Yun afterward and is actually a year older than Ji Yunzhi.

Of course, that’s the story as the outside world knows it—the truth is different.

But some things are only known within the family. Even Ji Yunzhi isn’t aware of them.

After returning, Ji Yunzhi remained indifferent to everyone in the family and never once called Ji Tianen anything like “brother.”

Ji Tianen pulled out a chair and sat back down to continue his breakfast. Glancing at Ji Yunzhi, he answered guiltily:

“I… I’m your older brother.”

Ji Yunzhi smiled at him and greeted him politely: “Hello, big brother!”

Ji Tianen was so startled he nearly dropped the bun in his hand. He stared at Ji Yunzhi with a strange expression, taking in his innocent smile. He couldn’t help but suspect that Ji Yunzhi’s brain really was damaged.

Was it because of the car crash?

But at the time, he wasn’t breathing…

So he wasn’t killed by the crash, just left with brain damage?

This bastard’s life is tougher than expected.

“You really don’t remember me?”

Ji Yunzhi frowned, thought for a moment, then nodded honestly.

“What about Mom and Dad? Do you remember them?”

Ji Tianen watched as Ji Yunzhi shook his head, then pulled out the chair beside him. “Come, sit and have breakfast together.”

Ji Yunzhi had already eaten a lot at Mo Xuchen’s place, but faced with more food, he could still eat more. Smiling, he agreed:

“Okay~”

Ji Tianen was taken aback by Ji Yunzhi’s obedient demeanor. Since when had Ji Yunzhi ever been this nice to him…?

So he really didn’t remember anything.

“How did you find your way back?”

Ji Yunzhi stuffed a bun into his mouth in two bites and answered vaguely: “It was… was…”

He suddenly remembered that Mo Xuchen had told him not to call him “husband,” and he didn’t want to reveal Mo Xuchen’s name to others, so he changed his answer:

“It was a kind old man who brought me back.”

Ji Tianen: “…… Kind… old man???”

Ji Yunzhi nodded vigorously. “Mm!”

Mo Xuchen was older than him and a good person—calling him a “kind old man” wasn’t wrong at all.

“Did that ‘kind old man’ also buy you these clothes?”

“Yep! He even fed me, and the food was super delicious.”

“Way better than what you’re eating now!”

Ji Tianen: “……”

He couldn’t care less whose food tasted better. Staring at Ji Yunzhi, he began scheming in his mind.

Pouring him a glass of milk, he said with a smile:

“Here, little brother, have some milk.”

Ji Yunzhi grinned at him, cradled the milk, and took a few sips. “Thanks, big bro.”

Ji Tianen glanced at the time. He had told his parents that Ji Yunzhi had run away on his own and wouldn’t be coming back.

When Ji Mingsheng and Shen Yun heard this, they simply nodded without saying a word.

After all, Ji Yunzhi had spent so many years in someone else’s home and only returned to his own family when he was much older—it was only natural that he couldn’t be tamed.

It was even better if he left. Since Ji Yunzhi had found his way back on his own, they never wanted him in this house to begin with.

From the moment Ji Yunzhi returned two years ago, Ji Tianen had been scheming nonstop to drive him away.

He had finally managed to make Ji Yunzhi disappear from this household—why was he back now? There was no way he could let him stay!

While Ji Mingsheng and Shen Yun weren’t home and no one had noticed Ji Yunzhi’s presence, he had to get rid of him as soon as possible.

Before Ji Yunzhi returned, Ji Tianen had been the most favored in the family.

Of course, even after Ji Yunzhi came back, he couldn’t steal Ji Tianen’s place in their parents’ hearts.

Most of the time, Ji Yunzhi was treated like air in this house.

The only times the family’s attention fell on him were when Ji Tianen picked fights, framed him, or tried to ruin his parents’ impression of him.

Again and again, Ji Yunzhi became nothing more than a useless, annoying nuisance in his parents’ eyes.

To them, Ji Yunzhi was good for nothing.

After wandering outside for over a decade, he was bound to be inferior to Ji Tianen in every way. Ji Tianen was the child they had raised with their own hands—everything he did was perfect.

Even if Ji Yunzhi did nothing at all, he would still disgust them.

Yet, Ji Tianen still wasn’t satisfied.

As long as Ji Yunzhi remained in this household, people would always see Ji Tianen as the adopted son.

But he was their biological child too! Why did they have to tell outsiders he was adopted just to save face?!

If Ji Yunzhi had never appeared, no one would have questioned it—he would have been the Ji family’s only young master.

Ji Tianen patted Ji Yunzhi’s shoulder and said with a smile, “Eat up. Once you’re full, big bro will take you out to have some fun.”

Ji Yunzhi looked at Ji Tianen’s hand on his shoulder, remembering how Mo Xuchen had also patted him like this earlier…

Ji Tianen thought Ji Yunzhi disliked his touch, just like before, and was about to withdraw his hand when Ji Yunzhi answered cheerfully:

“Okay~ Thanks, big bro!”
