Call You “Hubby” and You Ignore Me, Don’t Call You and You Get Mad! Chapter 18: Husband—Here’s Money for You!

Mo Xuchen felt the distance between them was a bit too close. He grabbed the collar of Ji Yunzhi’s robe, trying to pull him out of his embrace.

However, the belt of Ji Yunzhi’s robe wasn’t tied tightly, and with Mo Xuchen’s movement, the robe simply slipped open…

Mo Xuchen: “!!!!”

In a daze, he caught a glimpse of a flash of pale skin and hurriedly closed his eyes, flustered as he wrapped the robe tightly around Ji Yunzhi again.

Ji Yunzhi looked down at Mo Xuchen’s hand gripping his freshly opened robe and blinked in confusion.

“Husband, you…”

Mo Xuchen turned his head away, cleared his throat, and said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

Ji Yunzhi glanced at Mo Xuchen’s hand still clutching his robe and patted it twice, signaling him to let go.

“It’s fine, I’ll just tie it again.”

Mo Xuchen withdrew his hand, took a deep breath, and avoided looking at Ji Yunzhi as the latter lowered his head to adjust his robe properly.

Mo Xuchen fetched two pieces of bread and some milk from the fridge, poured the milk into a cup, and heated both the milk and bread before placing them on the dining table.

“Come here.”

Ji Yunzhi’s eyes lit up as he trotted over eagerly, staring at the bread and swallowing hard.

“Can I eat it?”

Mo Xuchen responded with an “Mhm.”

“Thank you, husband!”

Only after receiving Mo Xuchen’s approval did Ji Yunzhi pick up the bread and start devouring it in big bites.

Mo Xuchen sat beside him, watching as Ji Yunzhi ate the bread with such relish that the corners of his lips unconsciously lifted.

In the face of food, this little thing was clearly starving, yet he always waited for permission before eating.

If it were anyone else, they would’ve already lunged for it.

If he were thrown outside, wouldn’t he just get bullied to death?

“Eat slowly. Have some milk.”

Ji Yunzhi nodded at Mo Xuchen with a smile. His husband was the best to him!!!

His older brother was a bad person, a big meanie!

And a liar too—he’d never talk to him again!

Noticing Mo Xuchen watching him eat, Ji Yunzhi thought he must be hungry too.

He glanced at the untouched piece of bread and subtly nudged it closer to himself.

Then, with great generosity, he broke off a piece of the bread he was eating and offered it to Mo Xuchen.

“Husband, have some.”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

Well, that was generous… but not by much.

“I’m not hungry. You eat it.”

Ji Yunzhi pretended to be magnanimous and held it up to Mo Xuchen’s lips. “Husband, eat. I still have more.”

Though he said that, his round eyes were fixed intently on Mo Xuchen’s mouth, as if afraid he might actually take a bite.

Mo Xuchen shook his head, both exasperated and amused. “You eat it.”

Since Mo Xuchen refused, Ji Yunzhi didn’t insist. Without hesitation, he stuffed the bread into his own mouth.

After finishing, Ji Yunzhi handed the crumpled 200-yuan bill to Mo Xuchen.

“Husband, here.”

Mo Xuchen glanced at the wad of money with slight disdain, then wordlessly stood up and headed upstairs.

Ji Yunzhi quickly followed. “Husband, why won’t you take it?”

“This is money!”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

Nonsence—of course he knew it was money.

He didn’t need that 200 yuan.

Ji Yunzhi followed Mo Xuchen all the way, only to be abruptly shut outside the bedroom door with a loud bang—

Ji Yunzhi pinched the 200 yuan in his hand, scratched his head, and couldn’t figure out why Mo Xuchen wouldn’t take it.

Could it be… that his husband thought he gave too little?

Annoyed, he stomped his foot. If only he hadn’t taken out those four bills earlier!

Early the next morning, Ji Yunzhi crawled out of bed with messy hair, rubbing his eyes as he sat up. His head still throbbed faintly.

He smacked his forehead twice, then groggily stumbled to the bathroom to wash up. Only afterward did he finally feel a little better.

Climbing back into bed, he pulled out the money hidden under his pillow and stroked his chin thoughtfully.

After some deliberation, Ji Yunzhi decided to keep 200 yuan for himself—just in case he got too hungry—and give the rest to Mo Xuchen. Clutching the money, he dashed straight to Mo Xuchen’s room.

Mo Xuchen had just finished dressing and stepped out when Ji Yunzhi skidded to a stop in front of him, eyes sparkling.

“Husband, you look so handsome today!”

Mo Xuchen: “…”

Was this a mandatory morning ritual now? Every time they met, he had to be showered with praise?

“Ji Yunzhi.”

Ji Yunzhi immediately stood at attention and answered loudly, “Yes!!!”

“Stop calling me husband.”

Ji Yunzhi instantly wilted, shoulders slumping as he sighed dramatically.

“Husband, can’t you say something else?”

Mo Xuchen: “???”

Was this… him being complained about now?

“When you can actually follow my request, then I’ll say something else.”

Ji Yunzhi pouted. Once he found another handsome husband who could feed him properly, he’d stop calling Mo Xuchen that.

But for now… he’d keep at it!!!

“Husband, husband—here, money for you.”

Mo Xuchen glanced indifferently at the wad of cash Ji Yunzhi was offering, his lips quirking in a humorless smirk as he pushed the younger man aside and strode downstairs without a word.

Ji Yunzhi blinked in confusion, looking between the money in his hand and Mo Xuchen’s retreating figure before chasing after him.

“Husband—take the money!!!”

Determined to make Mo Xuchen accept it, Ji Yunzhi clung to him, chattering nonstop, as if refusal wasn’t an option.

Mo Xuchen, irritated by the noise, finally snatched the money and stuffed it into his pocket.

“Shut up.”

Seeing that Mo Xuchen had taken it, Ji Yunzhi grinned foolishly before obediently sitting down to eat breakfast.

“Husband, this is to thank you for feeding me last time and buying me new clothes.”

“Next time I earn money, I’ll give you more.”

He’d spend all his earnings on his husband—not a single cent for his brother! His brother was evil!

Abandoning him at the bar, scolding him…

Mo Xuchen shot him a stern look. “You’re not allowed to earn money at bars anymore.”

Ji Yunzhi nodded vigorously. “I won’t! Never again!”

“The people there are so mean—they kept touching me all over, and I hated it…”

Mo Xuchen’s face darkened instantly. “What else did they do to you?”

Ji Yunzhi tilted his head, puzzled. Why did his husband suddenly seem angry?

Worried he’d said too much, he pressed his lips shut and shook his head, burying himself in his breakfast.

Better talk less—what if he annoyed Mo Xuchen and got kicked out?

Mo Xuchen: “…”

This little thing was surprisingly good at dodging questions. Was he actually clueless, or just pretending?

“After you went home, did your family take you to the hospital?”
