Silken Rain Gently Falls Towards the South Maple Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Friend Request

Yin Siyu lowered her eyes slightly. “You should know I’ve always seen Su Shaonian as an older brother. There’s no possibility between us.”

“True enough. If there were, you two would’ve been together long ago,” Guan Shuang said with frustration. “You’ve had plenty of suitors, and even I have a boyfriend now. How come you’re still single?”

Yin Siyu chuckled awkwardly. “What do I need a boyfriend for? They’re not even as good to me as my own brother.”

Guan Shuang rolled her eyes. “Fine, you win. While others flaunt their wealth, assets, or boyfriends, you’re out here flexing your brother…”

Just as Yin Siyu was about to retort, Guan Shuang’s boyfriend called, and she abandoned Yin Siyu with a lovesick grin.

Yin Siyu scoffed. “Ugh, the sickening sweetness of love… how terrifying.”

Sitting on her bed, Yin Siyu suddenly found herself thinking of Nan Feng—the Nan Feng whose striking looks had stunned her, the Nan Feng she’d met in the library.

Her thoughts wandered further until she shook her head, scolding herself. “Yin Siyu, Yin Siyu, what are you thinking? Nan Feng has nothing to do with you!”

Despite her reasoning, she couldn’t shake the faint sense of something missing.

What could dispel her restlessness? Only livestreaming for distraction.

“My streaming schedule will be irregular lately. I’ve got a lot going on. What?” Yin Siyu glanced at the comments. “A boyfriend? Nope, don’t have one!”

On the other end, someone hearing this answer allowed a faint smile to curl his lips. If Peng Wenyu had seen that expression, he might’ve dialed 110 to report something suspicious.

“Is spring fever hitting you guys or what? Why is everyone asking about boyfriends today? Do I really seem that desperate?” Yin Siyu finally voiced her annoyance.

Fan 1: “Pretty sis, having a boyfriend is super blissful!”

Fan 2: “Goddess, let me be your boyfriend! I’ll spoil you rotten…”

Fan 3: “@Fan2 Are you dreaming? Want to be the goddess’s boyfriend? Maybe in your next life—no, your next-next-next… life.”

Fan “Feng Yu”: “A boyfriend would pamper you endlessly, bring you joy, and make you bubble with happiness.”

Fan 4: “Wow, that was poetic. Applause…”

Fan 5: “@Fan ‘Feng Yu’ Damn, what a man. PS: Pretty sure that’s a guy.”

Fan 6: “So smooth…”

……

Yin Siyu watched as the chat kept tagging Fan “Feng Yu,” sparking her curiosity.

Hmm, his words did seem heartfelt—a good fan. Plus, she liked his username. “Feng Yu”…

“Enough chatting! Let’s switch topics and play a game,” Yin Siyu suggested cheerfully.

All fans: “……NO……”

Ignoring the collective protest, Yin Siyu declared, “Great, it’s settled then!”

She even hummed a tune happily: “Under the bridge in front of my door, a group of ducks swim by…”

All fans: “Such a… lovely (cringy) song. The vibe here is truly chaotic…”

True to expectations, Yin Siyu’s gaming skills remained as abysmal as ever. But the goddess’s thick skin was equally unshaken—what could anyone do?

As Yin Siyu sat reflecting on her repeated gaming blunders, a notification suddenly popped up:

[Feng Yu has sent you a friend request.]

Feng Yu, is that fan using the same name in King’s Game? Honestly, in situations like this, Yin Siyu would usually reject them outright. But when she saw that name and the accompanying message, she hesitated. In the end, as if possessed, she clicked ‘Accept.’

The fans erupted the moment they saw the goddess actually adding a friend.

[What… what am I seeing…]

[Goddess, you’ve betrayed us… Weren’t we supposed to be each other’s angels?]

[How could you just add someone randomly? Just because of what he wrote?]

[Goddess, you never add people in-game. Did something happen this time?]

[These days, even words have to be an art form. It’s tough out here—]

…………

Realizing her mistake, Yin Siyu instinctively wanted to delete the request. But then she thought, wouldn’t that just make her look foolish? So she awkwardly replied, “My hand slipped. Yeah, my hand slipped.” What a lame excuse.

Biting her nails, Yin Siyu felt conflicted: adding friends wasn’t her usual style at all. What was wrong with her today? It was weird, really weird.

Unable to make sense of it, she decided to rationalize it another way: Oh right, she was just giving her fans a rare treat. That explanation worked—no issues there.

Meanwhile, the person who had successfully added Yin Siyu let out a quiet sigh of relief. That someone was none other than the rumored male lead from the forum—Nan Feng.

When Nan Feng saw Yin Siyu’s gaming account, he remembered that he had also played King’s Game for a while. So he immediately changed his ID to “Feng Yu.” He hadn’t expected much, just wanted to give it a try, but to his surprise, he actually managed to add her. Clearly, his efforts hadn’t been in vain.

After adding her, Nan Feng didn’t rush to chat with Yin Siyu. He knew she was still live-streaming—how could that be convenient? He decided to wait for another opportunity to talk.

(Note: During streams, numbers are sometimes used to represent names. Please bear with it! The people represented by numbers vary, and when important characters are involved, I’ll write out their names.)
