Chapter 264: I’m Actually a Good Person (7th Update)
What spiteful words this little devil, Qiao Ni, did spew. There was a palpable chill on Ye Wenxin’s back. Looking closer, Madam Yu’s eyes were incomparably frosty, her hatred for Ye Wenxin rising again.
Ye Wenxin, feeling she shouldn’t linger here, quickly excused herself.
To make the effect of her finishing move stand out, Qiao Ni didn’t come to find Ye Wenxin for the last few days.
Ye Wenxin slept soundly in her room. Seeing this, Madam Yu grew increasingly vexed. So, she had them draft the contract, sign it, and seal it, intending to say goodbye to Ye Wenxin early.
After completing this series of procedures, Madam Yu put the contract into her bag and asked, “When will the next acupuncture treatment be?”
Ye Wenxin had wanted to say that she could do it whenever, but then she felt the hindrance around her neck. She had been wearing the collar for so long lately, that she almost forgot she still had it on.
She hurriedly pointed at the Soul Sealing Ring and said, “Once you take off the Soul Sealing Ring.”
Madam Yu’s eyes showed slight distrust. “Your last two treatments were quite fruitful, but isn’t your acupuncture too casual?”
“Not at all. Because Madam Yu has too much Yin energy, a few more needles can speed up the process,” Ye Wenxin explained logically, only to see Madam Yu looking even more doubtful.
Ye Wenxin had no choice but to elaborate: “Madam has a Mystic Yin Physique. You have the natural ability to draw in Yin energy. It’s just that you’ve absorbed too much at once, which ruined your body.”
Mystic Yin Physique referred to a condition possessed by those born on a Yin date. If they became a demon cultivator, it could help them achieve better results with half the effort, and they could even absorb other people’s cultivation for their own benefit.
However, if it was used too greedily all at once, the Yin energy would backfire, which in turn, could only be resolved with Yang energy.
Old Man Lü Dao’s unsightly look was probably the result of having his Yang energy sucked dry, yet it still couldn’t alleviate Madam Yu’s condition. The Yin-Yang imbalance led to Madam Yu’s worsening physical condition.
Hearing this, Madam Yu’s face turned grim, seemingly reluctant to mention what had happened.
Ye Wenxin didn’t actually intend on asking further, but this was the first time she had ever come across someone with a Mystic Yin Physique, so she was somewhat curious.
She remembered reading in the Soul Suppressing Eighteen Needles’ manual, that the Mystic Yin Physique was also effective on those under Qi Deviation, which evoked even more intrigue.
“I heard the Mystic Yin Physique has an equal effect on Qi Deviation. I wonder if Madam had willingly absorbed someone’s Yin energy to help them.”
Ye Wenxin considered how she had suddenly regained consciousness one day. Perhaps Liu Churan had known about this, so she came to seek Madam Yu’s help in depleting Ye Wenxin’s Yin energy.
If this hypothesis proved true, all that Yin energy Ye Wenxin had accumulated from dead people, had been burdening Madam Yu for so many years, chipping away at her life until she was half-dead.
In that case, Ye Wenxin owed Madam Yu a life debt, which she must repay no matter what.
For some reason, even though this was all just Ye Wenxin’s speculation, Madam Yu’s face darkened further. She angrily drove Ye Wenxin out of the room.
Her attitude pretty much convinced Ye Wenxin.
“Madam, this isn’t something you should be ashamed of. I think you’re worthy of the greatest admiration.”
Ye Wenxin was confounded as to why Madam Yu was angry. She banged on the door, calling out loudly, “Madam, this is my room.”
As she called, she listened for any movements in the room, concerned that Madam Yu had passed out from anger again.
Thankfully, the breathing she could hear inside sounded normal, but Madam Yu seemed to be taking several deep breaths. She sounded very nervous.
Likely due to Demon Lord Gu Qingcheng’s special status, Madam Yu was unwilling to reveal that she had helped the Demon Lord absorb her Yin energy.
Ye Wenxin waited for a while, and just when she thought she might actually have to sleep in the corridor tonight, the door finally opened.
Ye Wenxin forged ahead. “Madam, I’m just curious how the Yin energy is absorbed, whether it requires special positions—”
Before she could finish, Madam Yu slammed the door shut in her face. Ye Wenxin couldn’t avoid it in time. She covered her stinging face, confused as to why Madam Yu was acting so strangely.
“Unless it’s like dual cultivation…” The more Ye Wenxin thought about it, the more terrified she was, and she couldn’t resist inquiring loudly.
As if she couldn’t bear Ye Wenxin’s endless questions, Madam Yu opened the door again and abruptly grabbed Ye Wenxin.
Ye Wenxin assumed Madam Yu was about to murder her out of rage, but the next second, a cool sensation flowed into her body. The Qi that was always roiling within her Dantian, was being drawn out continuously.
It felt extremely comfortable, to the point of being addictive. She wanted Madam Yu to absorb more. Simultaneously, Madam Yu’s face turned pale, as if she had taken in too much.
She couldn’t help coughing. “That’s how it’s done…”
Ye Wenxin, overwhelmed with comfort, had dropped to the floor. Ever since regaining lucidity, she had been troubled with the issue of Qi Deviation every day.
Now, she suddenly realized what a treasure Madam Yu was.
“Madam Yu, can you give it another go?”
Madam Yu coughed again and just stared at her, as if completely baffled at how Ye Wenxin could continue taking advantage of her. So she said, “As you can see, my body can’t tolerate absorbing too much—”
As her coughing fit worsened, Ye Wenxin realized something was wrong. She checked Madam Yu’s pulse.
The Yin energy was wreaking havoc in Madam Yu’s body, seeming to have a mind of its own. The skeletal bride’s red dress also became more resplendent, yet her heart blackened further, akin to an abyss.
Ye Wenxin glanced from the skeletal bride to Madam Yu, her grin widening, unable to restrain the fervor in her eyes.
“It’s fine; I’ll give you proper treatment later.”
However, Madam Yu’s eyes only showed contempt at Ye Wenxin’s assurance, as if she physically and mentally hated Ye Wenxin.
Ye Wenxin became extremely awkward, but she knew she had brought all this upon herself.
“Madam, is it too late for us to start over?”
“……”
“Madam, I’m actually a good person.”
“……”
Ye Wenxin regretted it. She regretted playing too much at the beginning, letting this wonderful Mystic Yin Physique slip from her grasp.
If Madam Yu was willing to help, then she could completely cast off Flower Burial for the second time, and would no longer have to endure the pain of Qi Deviation.
However, there was no cure for regret in this world, unless she shamelessly used her Demon Lord identity and begged to be absorbed.
Author: Ah, you can think of the Mystic Yin Physique like a vacuum cleaner. Yes, it can absorb anything, but once absorbed, she can’t resolve it on her own. That’s why Madam Yu is like this. (Feeling guilty)
