The next second, she saw a man, only half a head taller than Jiang Zhenzhen, walk in with his arm around her waist.

“Hello. This is Jianglin Hotel. I’m the owner. Please recharge before checking in.”

She ignored their chatter and cut straight to the point.

Jiang Zhenzhen thought she’d gone crazy.

“Hotel? Yueyue, are you trying to rent a room? I—”

Before he could finish, Chu Jiangyue summoned vines that coiled around Cui Hao’s neck. “Classmate Cui, people without manners… usually need to be taught some.”

The vines tightened, and with a wave of her hand, she flung him hard against the wall.

“You… you have an ability too!”

Jiang Zhenzhen’s eyes now brimmed with raw jealousy.

Why?! How could Chu Jiangyue—a poor student who had to work part-time just to afford living expenses—also awaken an ability?

While she herself had to cling to trash like Cui Hao just to survive?

She thought Chu Jiangyue’s attention was still on Cui Hao, so she didn’t bother to mask the hatred flashing in her eyes.

But Chu Jiangyue had seen through her pretense long ago.

Chu Jiangyue smiled faintly, but Jiang Zhenzhen felt a chill run through her bones.

Jiang Zhenzhen ground her teeth but couldn’t refute her—not while clinging to her “kind-hearted beauty” persona.

Meanwhile, Cui Hao, who had been slammed into the wall, struggled back up and tried to activate his ability—but no matter how many times he tried, nothing happened.

“You bitch! What did you do? Why can’t I use my ability?!”

Because inside the hotel, all abilities were disabled—except hers.

Jiang Zhenzhen’s face paled at his words. Cui Hao… couldn’t use his ability?

“I didn’t mention? Within the hotel premises, abilities are forbidden.”

Cui Hao seethed with rage, but there was nothing he could do. “But you just used yours!”

She said it lightly, but for Cui Hao, it was a death sentence.

After a long silence, he finally spoke again: “I want to buy something. You said I can trade anything—how?”

He wasn’t the brightest, but he knew when to bow to reality.

Beside him, Jiang Zhenzhen nearly cracked her teeth with fury.

Why? Why?! She couldn’t beat Chu Jiangyue at school, and now, even in the apocalypse, she was still beneath her!
