Chapter 70: Wanting to Bring Someone Back to Jianglin Hotel
Back at the villa, Shen Zhigui and the others had already tidied up a room for her.
The villa wasn’t big, but with three floors, it was more than enough for the six of them to live comfortably.
“Boss Chu, you’re back. We’ve prepared a room for you on the second floor. If you have any issues, just let us know.”
Su Zhucheng was the first to notice Chu Jiangyue’s return, naturally steering the conversation toward the room.
Following behind him, Chu Jiangyue went upstairs and entered the room they had prepared.
She wasn’t picky about her accommodations. Shen Zhigui’s group had indeed cleaned it well, even laying out a fresh bedsheet on the bed.
Who knew what Jiang He had stored in his spatial ability? Even things like bedsheets were included.
“This was something we collected before, meant for our own use. After Jianglin Hotel opened, we never used it.
Didn’t expect it would come in handy now.”
One could only say—whatever you collect, it will always prove useful in ways you least expect.
“Boss Chu!”
Just then, Song Chengjun’s voice came from downstairs.
Chu Jiangyue and Su Zhucheng both walked out of the room and headed down the stairs.
“Boss Chu, I was wondering if the gold coins for the deposit can be exchanged now?”
On the spot exchange?
Chu Jiangyue frowned slightly. She didn’t have an exchanger with her. If she had to convert coins here, it would be like last time in front of the school—she’d need five gold coins to open a temporary exchange channel.
“Opening a temporary channel requires paying five gold coins. You know that, right?”
“I know. I’ll transfer them to you right now.”
As he spoke, Song Chengjun opened his virtual screen and transferred five gold coins to Chu Jiangyue.
Once the notification arrived, she didn’t make things difficult for him.
“Where are the goods? I can exchange them now.”
Song Chengjun hadn’t brought anything inside—he wasn’t a spatial ability user. If he had items, of course he’d have to take her over.
“I drove here, the truck’s in the courtyard.”
Since he was doing business with Chu Jiangyue, there was no way Song Chengjun hadn’t considered this.
Following him out the villa door, Chu Jiangyue saw the pickup truck parked in the yard.
It was loaded with gold, silver, jewels, and a box holding zombie crystal cores.
“1,000 flyers—this looks like way more than you’d need?”
Chu Jiangyue felt his preparations were a bit over the top.
“It’s fine. If there are extras, we can use them for future cooperation.”
Anyway, the coins were already in the account—nothing would be lost.
To keep his own funds separate, Song Chengjun had even made meticulous records, dividing private property and public assets. That way, if anyone questioned him, he’d have clear proof that he hadn’t pocketed even a single copper coin from the group.
Since he was this straightforward, Chu Jiangyue didn’t argue further.
She had Little Fox open a temporary exchange channel, then converted everything in the truck.
【Detected: 35 level-1 zombie crystal cores, 20 level-2 zombie crystal cores… can be exchanged for 25 gold, 30 silver, 56 copper. Confirm? Yes/No.】
“Check the amount yourself. If it looks fine, just hit confirm.”
Chu Jiangyue gestured to him.
Song Chengjun didn’t doubt her, and directly pressed confirm.
The next second, his balance updated: 25 gold, 30 silver, 56 copper.
“I feel like 1,000 flyers still isn’t enough. Can I get more?”
Seeing the exchange amount, he felt 1,000 flyers for just 50 silver coins seemed underwhelming.
“Sure. How many do you want?”
“5,000?” he asked tentatively.
Chu Jiangyue shot him a glance, then tilted her head slightly and asked Little Fox in her mind:
‘Little Fox, can you make 5,000 flyers?’
Since she didn’t know Little Fox’s current condition, she wasn’t sure how many it could produce at once. If the number exceeded its limit, she’d have to renegotiate.
“5,000 is too many. At most I can do 2,000 today. No more.”
The moment Little Fox heard “5,000,” it wanted to protest. That would completely drain the energy it had saved up.
“5,000 is too much. The limit is 2,000—no more.”
Chu Jiangyue directly quoted the number Little Fox gave.
Although Song Chengjun felt 2,000 was too few, looking at her expression he knew—if she didn’t want the deal, she could easily walk away.
“Alright. 2,000 it is. That’s 10 gold coins. I’ll transfer it right now.”
Generously, he didn’t even bother with a deposit this time, immediately sending 10 gold coins.
With the transfer received, Chu Jiangyue’s gaze toward him softened noticeably.
“I’ll go organize people now. Tomorrow we’ll head to Jianglin Hotel together.”
Aside from those in B City’s safe base, they still needed to notify other bases.
But that wasn’t something he told Chu Jiangyue—those were their own responsibilities, not hers.
Hearing his words, her mood brightened even more.
“I really like Captain Song’s decisive style.”
As she spoke, she watched his departing back.
Beside her, Shen Zhigui’s gaze darkened.
“It’s getting late. Time for dinner.”
Jiang He appeared from somewhere, heading to the villa’s dining table. From his space, he pulled out food and laid it out.
Not wanting to freeload, Chu Jiangyue bought a few dishes and rice from the shop only she could see, placing them on the table.
“I plan to return tomorrow. Do you all have anything else you need to do?”
Ever since meeting them at Jianglin Hotel, she hadn’t heard them mention family. She didn’t know if it was because they didn’t care—or because they feared the pain of confirming death.
Shen Zhigui shook his head. His family was in a much safer place than he was. If something happened to them, it would’ve been beyond his power to stop anyway.
“We’re fine. Boss Chu, you just make the arrangements.”
Right now, all they could do was stay alive and not worry their families further.
Chu Jiangyue didn’t pry—everyone had their own reasons.
“Tell me, if I want to bring someone back with me to Jianglin Hotel, what’s the best way to do it?”
At Jianglin Hotel, even if there weren’t enough rooms, living just outside was better than staying at a base.
Within ten meters of the hotel, zombies were repelled. The conditions were far safer.
And inside, as long as you had copper coins, food was guaranteed—and zombies were no concern.
“Boss Chu, who do you want to bring back to the hotel?”
Su Zhucheng’s gossip-filled eyes lit up, unable to hide his curiosity.
