Chapter 271: Yandere Liu Churan (7th Update)
Being alone was easy, but getting used to the loneliness was not.
As Ye Wenxin treaded through the bustling traffic, she actually found herself in the red-light district. The passersby glanced at her. They seemed to find it very strange for a woman dressed like Ye Wenxin to show up in this place.
It was still the same scenery: women busy soliciting customers, and a pageboy trying his best to promote business.
Ye Wenxin thought briefly, and eventually entered a brothel that had ‘serving female customers’ written on it. She stayed for a night and took her time leaving. Of course, to sell the scum act, Ye Wenxin had bribed the woman who accompanied her.
It was once again a journey of eating and drinking, living carefree. By the evening of the second day, she finally arrived at the relay station.
The gate was tightly closed. Feeling the eerie atmosphere of the relay station, Ye Wenxin hesitated for a moment, then pushed the gate open.
The next moment, a figure darted quickly past her. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly Jin Xiaoqin holding a chicken feather duster.
She wore a plain, long dress. Upon seeing Ye Wenxin, she struck down with the feather duster without hesitation.
“Master, why are you hitting me!?” Ye Wenxin helplessly tried to avoid the attack.
Jin Xiaoqin wore a stern look on her face. “Because you deserve it!” Infusing the feather duster with Qi, she fired a fierce sword intent, forcing Ye Wenxin to dodge pathetically.
If she got whipped by this feather duster, who knows what would become of her. But Ye Wenxin couldn’t help feeling that Jin Xiaoqin’s beating was too harsh, which left her puzzled.
The others also came out, drawn by the commotion. When Ye Wenxin glanced over, she saw a woman dressed in green. Liu Churan, who should have been at Green Isle Manor, had openly appeared here.
Even if Liu Churan was the former Saintess, appearing here would be too conspicuous. In the midst of bewilderment, Ye Wenxin heard Jin Xiaoqin say, “I truly spoiled you. Not only did you stay out all night, you even went to a brothel!”
“Ah, how did you find out, Master?” Ye Wenxin had a bad feeling. She only stayed the night at the brothel to establish her scumbag character.
Jin Xiaoqin’s face darkened more. She gestured towards Liu Churan and said, “That lady has come to collect a debt; how could I not find out!?” She whipped Ye Wenxin’s backside, eliciting a painful gasp from Ye Wenxin.
“My dear master, even my parents didn’t beat me.” Ye Wenxin felt momentarily aggrieved until she saw Jin Xiaoqin’s disappointed expression. “That’s why I need to discipline you more. Who told you to go to a brothel without paying?”
“But I don’t recognize this lady. Didn’t you consider she might be lying?” Ye Wenxin gave a nonplussed reply, feeling unfairly punished.
Hearing this, Jin Xiaoqin stopped her movements and looked at Liu Churan.
“This servant speaks the truth.”
Liu Churan feigned haplessness, almost pushing Ye Wenxin into Qi Deviation. She originally wanted to get rid of this trouble, Liu Churan, but she didn’t expect her to run directly over instead.
“Master, she’s lying; she’s…” Ye Wenxin wanted to say that Liu Churan was Madam Yu’s younger sister, but remembering that the entire world knew Liu Churan had no relatives, she switched her wording. “She’s a courtesan.”
Jin Xiaoqin froze, then, after hearing Ye Wenxin out, whipped Ye Wenxin’s backside again. Ye Wenxin’s eyes welled with tears from the pain, but she still recorded this debt, waiting for the day she could repay it.
Liu Churan chuckled as she watched Ye Wenxin get punished, and seemed very satisfied with her answer.
Jin Xiaoqin, tired, tossed away the feather duster and threw a bottle of Golden Wound Medicine at Ye Wenxin. She continued, “Miss, I apologize for my disciple’s failure. However much she owes, I shall pay on her behalf.”
Jin Xiaoqin’s casual actions deeply moved Ye Wenxin, making her feel that she had finally found a reliable master.
“Not much, just one thousand spirit stones.” However, upon hearing the amount quoted by Liu Churan, Jin Xiaoqin’s expression turned serious. She looked at Ye Wenxin and continued, “Is it too late to dismiss this disciple now?”
Liu Churan laughed even more heartily, but her smile seemed filled with venom. Everyone’s eyes were on her, irresistibly captivated by her presence.
Even if she only revealed her eyes, they could enchant the entire world.
Jin Xiaoqin seemed momentarily bewitched, but she recovered faster than the others. She pulled Ye Wenxin over and continued, “How much money do you have on you now? Hand it over.”
Ye Wenxin felt even more speechless and continued, “Master, you don’t trust me at all. How could visiting a brothel cost a thousand spirit stones?”
“Hmm?” Jin Xiaoqin was somewhat puzzled, seemingly unfamiliar with the going rates. Seeing Jin Xiaoqin’s interest piqued, Ye Wenxin continued, “Even the top courtesan only costs a hundred spirit stones, where— ouch, why are you hitting me again!?”
“I didn’t believe this lady when she said you went to a brothel yesterday,” Jin Xiaoqin said, now even angrier.
Liu Churan’s smile grew even brighter. She gave a graceful bow to Jin Xiaoqin and then introduced herself.
“This servant is Liu Sicheng, the younger sister of Madam Yu.” Hearing this, Ye Wenxin sighed with relief. She then saw Liu Churan winking at her, her flirtatious glance making Ye Wenxin shiver.
Ye Wenxin thought that Liu Churan truly was here to cause chaos. As if that wasn’t enough, she even had to pick such a pretentious name as ‘Liu Sicheng’1.
It was even more terrifying that Liu Churan’s Charm had ensnared all the senior brothers and sisters, as well as Jin Xiaoqin, leaving them completely bewildered. However, with a reference point, Ye Wenxin found it relatively easy to hide herself within the group.
Liu Churan displayed great patience. After finishing her greetings, she turned her gaze to Ye Wenxin and said, “Alright, take me to see the corpse.”
Ye Wenxin felt that Liu Churan had an unusual amount of free time on her hands. Despite having the massive Wind and Moon Palace to manage, she chose to come here to pursue the Demon Lord.
Remembering her current identity, Ye Wenxin quickly nodded, and led Liu Churan to the cellar where the corpse was stored.
The red flowers had drained the blood from the corpse, turning it into a mummy. Even though the corpse was ghastly, the flowers remained strikingly beautiful.
The air was filled with the stench of decay; no matter how splendid the flowers had been in bloom, they couldn’t mask the inherent nature of the rotting corpse.
Liu Churan examined it intently, showing no sign of the fear or disgust typical of most people. Instead, her expression was one of delight and enjoyment.
She even plucked one of the blood-infused red flowers, lifted her veil, and gently sniffed it, her smile growing even more radiant and enchanting.
Footnotes:
Author: By the way, Liu Churan’s the only true yandere. The other ladies have very little yandere tendencies.
