Doomsday Stockpiling: I Established a Global Survivor Base
Doomsday Stockpiling: I Established a Global Survivor Base Chapter 35 – Norsen Biotechnology Company

Since there were too many zombies around to move freely, Su You decided to scavenge randomly.

Smart wearables, PS5, Switch, cellphones, computers, storage cards, memory chips, VCDs, vinyl records.

Freshly baked bread from yesterday, yogurt, milk, juice, roasted chicken wings.

Newly delivered leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, steaks, organic food, seafood; pre-cut strips, slices, ribs, chicken, beef, lamb.

There were also home appliances, power strips, various adapters, supplies from gas stations, pharmaceutical shelves, clothes, shoes, and hats.

Whenever she could take an entire shelf, she took the whole shelf and cabinet.

But this had a drawback—without the shelves blocking the view, zombies could easily spot her movements. Su You had to be extra careful scavenging, so as not to alarm them.

By the end, only a few shelves stood inside the supermarket, forming barriers to keep zombie groups apart.

She had practically emptied out half the supermarket.

Beforehand, Su You had asked the system whether the zombie virus here could be brought into her base space, and the answer was no.

As the owner of the base, she could choose what entered, and the zombie virus could be blocked out.

Even so, to avoid danger, she deliberately chose food and goods with intact packaging and undamaged containers.

She avoided places with obvious signs of fighting or bloodstains, reducing risks as much as possible.

Since warehouse-style supermarkets basically didn’t have storage rooms, Su You didn’t bother searching further and quickly left.

But passing through another block, she saw an injured foreign special forces soldier wrestling with a zombie, nearly being bitten.

She hesitated, then raised her gun and shot the zombie in the head.

The soldier collapsed to the ground, gasping. He looked only in his twenties, tall and strong.

At that moment, he stared at her in shock—like seeing a savior from the heavens.

Su You curled her lips, dragged him into a safe street-side shop.

Though wary of her—since anyone daring to walk the streets armed must be ruthless—he still expressed gratitude and asked for her help.

He told her: “My name is Hal. I’m with a team of special forces sent to Snowe City. We parachuted into the city center on a helicopter for a special mission. But I got separated after losing my comms gear when fighting zombies. Could you please help me contact my teammates? The mission is really important.”

Su You asked, “And how do you know your teammates haven’t been bitten or killed like you almost were?”

From beneath the black ballistic helmet, came a woman’s voice.

Hal froze for a moment before answering, “We’re strictly trained. It’s impossible for all of us to be wiped out by zombies.”

Su You smiled. “And what makes you so sure I’ll help you?”

Hal fell silent. At times like this, it was normal for people to refuse help. He had no argument, only tried to make his mission sound important and reasonable.

“I’m tasked with infiltrating Norsen Biotech’s R&D lab and retrieving research data. I heard a researcher there, named Li Sen, started vaccine trials soon after the zombie virus was discovered. There’s been progress, so command sent us to find the materials.”

Hal spoke solemnly: “Miss, this is vital. If you’re willing to help me, on behalf of my commander, I thank you.”

At the mention of Li Sen, Su You’s memory flickered.

Wasn’t Li Xianian’s son—the one working in medical research at Norsen Biomedical—called Li Sen?

What a coincidence.

Su You grew thoughtful.

The soldier named Hal seemed rational. Although still holding his weapon and cautious of her, he was actively seeking her aid.

Since Su You had already taken a great deal from Snowe City, she decided to lend this young man a hand.

She nodded. “Fine. What’s your squad’s radio frequency? I’ll call them for you.”

Hal’s eyes lit up. At once, he knew this woman understood.

Risking military punishment, he told her the team’s frequency.

Next, he saw her pull the exact equipment he needed from her backpack—his heart nearly leapt out of his chest.

He had thought death was certain, but here was a lifeline.

Su You quickly tuned to the right frequency. Hal took over, his voice trembling with excitement.

“It’s me, Hal Davis, Eagle Squad. Last night I got cut off from the team when a horde blocked my path.”

“Yes, just injured, not bitten. Still able to move.”

“What? They lost contact too?”

Hearing this, the bright light in Hal’s eyes dimmed.

“Yes, sir. I swear I’ll take over for my teammates until the mission is complete.”

“…Yes. I met a woman willing to help me. She said she can assist, but not without limits.”

After ending the call, Hal looked a little gloomy, but quickly pulled himself together, spread out a map, and started planning the route.

Since he had lost his own pack, Su You gave him gauze and alcohol to clean and dress his wound, preventing infection.

She also handed him a bottle of water and a bag of bread. “Eat something first. Then we’ll see how to get to Norsen Biotech.”

Hal nodded gratefully. “Thank you, Miss. May I call you…” He trailed off awkwardly.

“My surname is Su,” she said.

“Miss Su, thank you for your help,” Hal said.

He knew very well that a head-on fight with zombies was unwise.

Having been holed up, injured and starving overnight, once he bandaged his arm, he devoured the bread and water.

Su You, meanwhile, simply took out a tablet with an offline map installed and plotted a smart route.

Hal’s eyes lit up again.

“Amazing.”

This helmeted woman seemed truly incredible—pulling out every needed supply from her pack, no less equipped than a special forces soldier.

And he had seen her skills in action: clean, precise, never missing a shot.

She might not have had the same rigorous training, but her adaptability and efficiency were top-tier.

Though he hated to admit it, when it came to handling zombies, he might not even match this woman.

Hal thought to himself—if it’s her, maybe they really could reach Norsen Biotech.
