Doomsday Stockpiling: I Established a Global Survivor Base Chapter 59: The Villa District

The Huanxi Valley resort wasn’t far from the villa district. People arriving at the resort could easily see the villas scattered among the mountains.

However, because of the steep terrain, there was only one road up the mountain.

At present, this road was firmly blocked by a sturdy iron gate. The security guard at the gate held a baton, vigilantly watching the surroundings.

After all, with so many people arriving at the resort recently, it was hard to ensure that no one would envy the rich and stir up trouble.

When Su Weiguo approached, the guard immediately stood up from the nearby security booth.

Holding the baton, he pointed at Su Weiguo. “What do you want? This is a private community. Non-residents are prohibited from entering.”

Despite the iron gate between them, Su Weiguo’s presence was undiminished. His face darkened as he said,
“What do you mean non-resident? My daughter lives here. I’m her father, here to join her. Let us in immediately.”

The guard glanced at Su Weiguo and slightly softened his tone. “What’s your daughter’s name and which villa does she live in? I need to verify with the villa owner first before letting you in.”

Su Weiguo frowned. “I’ve already told you my daughter is here. Why so many rules?”

Liu Qin and Liu Sheng stood beside him. Liu Qin grabbed his arm and gave him a subtle signal.

Su Weiguo muttered, “Her name is Su You. I don’t know anything else.”

The guard behind the gate went to check.

Several bystanders nearby watched and commented, “Your daughter really made it, living in such a nice villa.”

“I’ve heard the villa residents have goods delivered by helicopter. Supplies are abundant. They even have generators running, so they can use electrical appliances all day. They live luxuriously compared to us.”

Su Weiguo proudly lifted his head. “Of course. At times like this, I’m just here to enjoy the comfort.”

After a while, the guard returned from the booth, his expression returning to cold indifference.

“There’s no one named Su You here. You cannot enter.”

Su Weiguo grabbed the iron gate, ready to push forward. “What? You must be mistaken. Did you even check properly? Let me in; I can find her myself.”

No matter how much Su Weiguo protested, the guard ignored him.

Frustrated, he cursed under his breath, “Just wait and see.”

The onlookers laughed. “Another one pretending to be a relative. Really overestimating themselves.”

Liu Sheng looked embarrassed. “Mom, what’s going on? Are we even in the right place? Maybe Hou Rui saw that Su You broke up with him and gave us false information to get back at us.”

Liu Qin gripped her phone tightly. “Impossible. There must be some other issue.”

The mountain’s mobile signal was intermittent, but still allowed brief calls. She decided to ask Hou Rui again.

Sun Liancheng was a member of the homeowners’ committee. The security guard’s call first reached him.

He concealed Su You’s situation, then immediately called her to inform her to stay out of sight.

Su You nodded. “Got it. Just act like they don’t exist. Don’t worry about them.”

Sun Liancheng said, “Okay, but there’s also someone named Hou Rui, who has been inquiring about you.”

Hou Rui?

Seems like he couldn’t resist either. This petty ex-boyfriend might have been the one who lured Liu Sheng and Liu Qin here.

He knew she was sensitive to family-related manipulations because of past trauma.

But this time, Su You’s eyes turned cold.

“Alright. Please keep monitoring the surroundings.”

When Sun Liancheng returned from his patrol, Song Min was cooking.

Their youngest daughter and the golden retriever were playing with blocks by the floor-to-ceiling window.

Seeing their father come back, both child and dog immediately rushed over.

“Daddy, you’re finally back!”

Sun Liancheng patted his daughter’s head and then the golden retriever. “Daddy went out to patrol the area, to keep the bad guys away.”

“Did you listen to Mom and behave?”

The little girl shook her head. “Yes, Yun Yun was good all day today. I drew pictures and wrote some words.”

She stood on tiptoe to hand the drawings to her father.

“Daddy, when will our vacation end? I want to see my kindergarten teachers and friends.”

Sun Liancheng took the drawing, lifted his daughter, and smiled wryly. “We’ll stay here a bit longer. The rain outside is too heavy, and kindergarten is closed. When school reopens, Daddy will tell little Yun Yun, okay?”

The girl nodded firmly. The golden retriever circled Sun Liancheng’s feet, creating a warm scene as usual.

Song Min came over and saw this scene, feeling a bit relieved.

Thanks to Sun Liancheng moving her and the daughter into the villa early, with plenty of supplies in the basement, they had been well-prepared for the past two weeks of heavy rain.

This villa district had dedicated power supply and strong security, so order was maintained.

While people in the city were fighting over scraps, she cooked fresh meals for her family.

Today she made steamed hairy crabs and seafood congee.
“Come eat. I made an extra portion today—later, you can take one to Su You.”

Sun Liancheng nodded, holding his daughter. “Okay.”

Song Min continued, “I heard from the homeowners’ group that Su You’s parents came looking for her. Fortunately, you didn’t tell them she’s here. Those leeches—Su You should have cut ties with them early to avoid trouble.”

Sun Liancheng replied, “Hmm, though I suspect someone told them Su You is here. Otherwise, with their personalities, they wouldn’t have come.”

He thought for a moment. “By the way, do you know a young man named Hou Rui? He’s also inquiring about Su You.”

“Hou Rui?”

Song Min recalled vaguely. “He’s Su You’s ex-boyfriend, right? What about him?”

Sun Liancheng frowned. “He’s now living in another villa—he’s that woman Liang Man’s boyfriend.”

He didn’t elaborate further; it was probably that Liang Man was keeping a kept man.

Hearing this, Song Min immediately slammed the table. “What? Su You’s still here, and that Hou Rui has thrown himself into another woman’s arms?”

Sun Liancheng said, “Don’t worry. I’ve informed Su You. She’ll handle it.”

Song Min pursed her lips. “No matter what, I treat Su You like my sister. I have to defend her.”

Sun Liancheng thought: this ‘sister’ of yours is not simple.

He hurriedly agreed. “Okay, okay, but don’t cause more trouble for Su You in this situation.”

Song Min sneered. “I’m not stupid. I know what kind of person Su You’s father is—a bloodsucker clinging to his daughter. Her stepmother normally pretends, but now she probably can’t hold back and came looking for someone.”

“Hmph, they really think highly of themselves.”
