Chapter 4

Mingshu woke up again and got up directly, moving her left hand. She felt pain in her arm and estimated that it would take a few days to heal.

She opened the door of the small dark room and saw that everyone was there today.

“Mingshu, get up and come over for breakfast.” Lin Wanmei, her hands still wrapped in white gauze, changed her usual behavior and became gentle to her.

“Heh…” Ming Shu avoided her hand and said, “Don’t forget what I asked you to do. I’ll be waiting for you at home today.”

“I know, I know, I will do it today,” Lin Wanmei said cautiously.

“Sister, this is our mother. You are so rude.” Ming Xin was sitting at the table and saw his mother being a little cautious. He couldn’t stand it and spoke out.

“That’s right, sister, mom worked hard to cook for you early in the morning, but you don’t appreciate it. Aren’t you a little ungrateful?” Mingzhong also stood up and shouted at Mingshu.

“Lin Wanmei, tell your sons the truth about what you did to me yesterday. Don’t let them act like dogs without knowing right or wrong.” Ming Shu chuckled and walked over to Lin Wanmei and patted her face.

“Mingshu, you uneducated son of a bitch,” Mingxin heard Mingshu calling them dogs, and saw her patting his mother like she was a puppy. He immediately became furious and raised his hand to slap her in the face.

Mingshu dodged sideways.

In anger, he raised his hand and slapped Mingshu in the face again. Mingshu kicked him against the door. With a bang, he slid to the ground like a dead dog.

“Mingxin, Mingxin,” Minghai hurried over to check on his son and saw a trace of blood at the corner of Mingxin’s mouth. He looked up and glared at Mingshu, “You evil girl, this is your brother, how dare you kick him so hard.”

“Why not? I think it’s great. It’s so cool,” Ming Shu said with a smile as she walked to Ming Xin, took out a knife and lifted his chin. “You just said ‘son of a bitch’, it seems you know I’m not your sister!”

“Come on, explain to your silly brothers what our relationship is.”

Mingxin lay on the ground with his eyes closed and said nothing.

Ming Shu still smiled and lifted his chin with the knife. “Huh? Why aren’t you talking now? Weren’t you very good at cursing just now?”

“Let him go,” Minghai looked at his eldest son worriedly and said loudly to Mingshu.

“Uncle, you have worked so hard these years. You have always put on a hypocritical face, and you always have to smile at me even though you don’t like me.

It was you who instigated Lin Wanmei to drug me yesterday, right?” Ming Shu stood up and looked down at Ming Hai who was still squatting on the ground and said with a smile,

“Mom, what do you mean by drugging?” Mingguo felt dizzy and looked at his mother in confusion.

“I, I…” Seeing her husband and sons present, Lin Wanmei boldly tried to deny it, but then she turned and saw Mingshu’s sinister smile. And then there was her threat from yesterday. She lowered her head and said nothing.

“Mom, is what Mingshu said true? Why?” Mingzhong asked his mother in surprise.

“I don’t have the energy to listen to you, Lin Wanmei. Tell me clearly what you did in front of your son, quickly.” Ming Shu was a little annoyed. She took two steps at a time, pressed her neck with one hand and held a knife against her neck with the other hand. Impatience was about to overflow in her eyes, and she growled in a low voice.

Lin Wanmei clearly felt the cold murderous intent coming from Mingshu. She was so frightened that she trembled all over and told Mingshu everything she had done yesterday and how Mingshu was not their eldest sister.

Inside the house, except for Minghai and Mingxin, the other three children were walking back and forth between their mother, Mingshu and Minghai with a look of surprise on their faces.

Ming Shu saw that the matter was clear and shook off Lin Wanmei. She put away the knife, looked around at the people in the room, sneered, turned around and went to the kitchen to cook a bowl of noodles, finished her meal, and walked over to look at Lin Wanmei.

Mingshu spent the whole day wandering around the streets, but she had no money or ticket, so she could only wander around. She decided to finish her business tonight and then go get her parents’ contact information tomorrow.

I guess they would return to their residence after dinner in the evening.

Mingshu cooked some plain noodles for herself, which was barely edible. Afterwards, she kept staring at Lin Wanmei.

Lin Wanmei wanted to regret it but didn’t dare, so she could only take out the medicine and swallow it.

Ming Shu returned to the small dark room. Occasionally, she would use her mental power to detect her, and when she saw her twitching and grabbing Ming Hai’s clothes, she would pull back.

The next morning,

There was a knock on the door. Mingshu lay on the bed and listened quietly, and found that it was the door outside that was knocking.

She dressed and went out to the living room. Last night, Lin Wanmei had sent all four of her sons to her parents’ home. There was no one in the living room.

The knocking on the door continued.

Mingshu walked over and opened the door, only to see two middle-aged men in work clothes standing inside.

“Comrade, are you Minghai’s daughter?” one of the men asked with a smile.

“Not now”

“Ah,” the two men were surprised by the girl’s answer. Then the man said, “This is Minghai’s house! We have something to talk to him about.”

“Come in and knock on the door yourself.” Mingshu walked aside to make way.

At this time, the neighbor lady came out and saw the two men and said, “Comrades, you are here for Minghai, right? He must be fast asleep right now.”

He chuckled to himself as he spoke.

“The couple made a lot of noise last night. He must be exhausted.” An old lady smiled with shining eyes.

The two men looked at each other and hurried forward to ask the aunts what had happened. The more they listened, the brighter their eyes became.

The two of them didn’t go to call Minghai, but rushed to the factory and promoted Minghai in the unit.

From ancient times to the present, scandals have always been the most talked about thing and spread very quickly.

Mingshu felt relieved when she heard the aunties from the neighbors were so direct.

In the next month or so, Lin Wanmei and her husband would probably be ridiculed by the people living in the tube-shaped building. Now it seemed that their company would not be able to escape.

I thought of another person, and I didn’t know how he was doing, so I decided to find an opportunity to beat him up again.

After Mingshu made breakfast and ate it, she sat at the door and listened to the aunties gossiping. They would look at Mingshu from time to time.

Mingshu’s shamelessness is up to them.

At one o’clock in the afternoon, there were noises coming from Minghai and Lin Wanmei’s room. A moment later, the door opened from the inside.

Minghai walked out with his eyes narrowed. Then Lin Wanmei came out from behind, holding up her injured hand.

Ming Shu used her mental power to scan her wound. The injury was much more serious than yesterday. It was estimated that it would be difficult to recover without treatment.

Several older women came in and surrounded Wanmei, asking her why she screamed so loudly last night and what she felt. This made Lin Wanmei run back to her room in embarrassment.

People in this era are too conservative. Being eavesdropped on is no different from being stripped naked and exposed in public.

The aunties saw the heroine running back to her room. They didn’t dare to ask the hero, but they all looked at Minghai with a smile and went home while discussing.

Ming Hai noticed people looking at him strangely when he went to work that afternoon. At first, he thought it was because he wasn’t dressed properly. So he spent the whole time adjusting his clothes and responding to people’s smiles without knowing why.

Mingshu had nothing to say to Minghai. She went to the kitchen, prepared three meals a day, and then knocked on Lin Wanmei’s door to get the address of Director Wu’s house. She learned that he had also been on leave at home recently.
