Chapter 280: I Will Go As Well (2nd Update)

“But they call her ‘Sister-in-law’.”

“That’s just a title, just like how I address you as ‘Madam’, but you’re not my Madam,” Ye Wenxin answered amusedly, expecting Madam Yu to show some emotion, but she didn’t. Instead, she just finished her tea in one gulp and slowly refilled it.

It was unclear whether she didn’t want to make a scene in front of too many people, or she had already grown numb to Ye Wenxin’s eloquence.

Ye Wenxin looked uninterested and continued snacking on peanuts. Looking again at Qiao Ni, who was sitting properly like a proper young lady, Ye Wenxin felt that Madam Yu was incredible, to be able to control such a mischievous child like Qiao Ni so well at the dining table.

Thinking of this, Ye Wenxin took another sip of tea. Just as she put down the cup, Huang Hanyan silently refilled it with tea. Ye Wenxin softly thanked her, and didn’t hesitate to lift the cup and take another sip.

This was purely out of politeness, but as soon as she set it down, another hand reached out and refilled Ye Wenxin’s teacup. This time, it wasn’t Huang Hanyan, but Madam Yu.

However, unlike Huang Hanyan, Madam Yu paid attention to the others present, handling everything gracefully, making everyone feel comfortable.

The Cozy Gang members had initially been worried about dealing with their first business partner, but Madam Yu’s charisma and personality had completely won them over.

Although Madam Yu was kind to everyone, she maintained her boundaries, neither subservient nor haughty. However, facing such a stunning beauty, no matter how upright her words and actions were, if someone harbored ill intentions, they could easily misinterpret her.

“No way, she likes me. She served me some food.”

After the end of the meal, Ye Wenxin heard the little brothers chattering, feeling a sense of deja-vu. But it must be said that Madam Yu truly fulfilled most people’s fantasies of an ideal wife.

The red flowers were beautiful and lifelike, and Madam Yu’s expression was focused. Occasionally, she would brush her long hair aside, but she mostly kept her head down, fully absorbed in her work.

The others were increasingly intrigued as they watched. It was Fatty who took the lead, approaching Ye Wenxin to share their thoughts.

“Everyone says the brothels here are famous for a reason. Big Sister, can we…” Fatty spoke sneakily, as if afraid Madam Yu might hear their crude talk from afar.

Ye Wenxin understood and smiled. “It’s natural. You’ve all been through enough on this journey. Relax tonight, but don’t stay out too late. We still have to go to Green Isle Manor tomorrow.”

With that, Ye Wenxin took out ten thousand spirit stones from her pocket.

Fatty, even more excited, was just about to take the spirit stones when Ye Wenxin pulled her hand back slightly. Still wearing a bright grin, she continued, “On second thought, I’ve decided to join you.”

Fatty wasn’t surprised and even seemed pleased that Ye Wenxin wanted to go with them. But thinking of Madam Yu, he still asked worriedly, “If we all go out to have fun, what about Madam Yu?”

Ye Wenxin felt the concern was unnecessary. Green Isle Manor had many guards, and Nascent Soul cultivators were not so common as to trouble them every day. However, Fatty’s point was valid. Even though they were guests, it wouldn’t be right for all of them to leave and have fun.

Lately, Ye Wenxin had been under a lot of pressure. Seeing Fatty and the others ready to let loose made her want to join them.

Sensing Ye Wenxin’s hesitation, the usually silent Huang Hanyan spoke up, “Junior Sister, go ahead and enjoy yourself. I’ll stay here.”

Ye Wenxin was slightly surprised, but after thinking about it, she realized that Huang Hanyan wasn’t really suited for visiting brothels. She nodded in agreement.

“Do you need me to bring you anything? Like some rouge or powder?” It still felt a bit wrong to leave Huang Hanyan behind while everyone else went to have fun, so Ye Wenxin added this as a gesture of consideration.

Huang Hanyan was momentarily stunned. She had completely regarded herself as Ye Wenxin’s subordinate, never expecting Ye Wenxin to treat her as she had before. But now, seeing the familiar expression on Ye Wenxin’s face, Huang Hanyan felt a bit of her tension ease.

After a moment of thought, Huang Hanyan responded, “There’s nothing I need you to bring back; just come back early.”

Ye Wenxin smiled, knowing that an early return from such a place was unlikely. However, if that was Huang Hanyan’s wish, perhaps she’d end up getting so drunk halfway through the night that Fatty and the others would leave her behind in the brothel, and she’d return to the relay station early.

With the evening’s plan set, the Cozy Gang members were very happy. Ye Wenxin thought it best to inform Madam Yu, just in case they got too carried away and forgot about their important visit to Green Isle Manor tomorrow.

“Oh, you’re going too?” When she heard the plan, Madam Yu focused on the fact that Ye Wenxin would be joining them.

In this area, due to its strategical location, as long as one had money, brothels were naturally open to all, and with many large sects nearby, it’s common for cultivators to visit. Over time, the brothels have thrived and even developed various special attractions.

Madam Yu chuckled softly, “Oh, is Miss Wenxin planning to continue sleeping at the brothel?”

Ye Wenxin remembered spending a night at the brothel after leaving Green Isle Manor. Given Madam Yu’s influence in the area, it was natural that she could easily obtain such information. Ye Wenxin smiled without saying anything, effectively acknowledging it.

Seeing Ye Wenxin’s calm demeanor, Madam Yu thought for a moment before continuing, “Since you’re all here, I should fulfill my duty as a host. How about this—I’ll accompany you tonight as well.”
