Chapter 21: The Show Goes Viral, Stranded on a Deserted Island, Guests Driven Crazy?
The mutual selection segment ended.
Fu Xin looked at the only successful pair on stage and smiled: “Congratulations to Jiang Yurou and Zhou Huailang for matching! The surprise gifts from the production team will be delivered tomorrow.”
Playing by your own rules again!
Fu Xin’s gaze shifted to Wen Lingyue and Yu Yan, and he muttered in his heart, Tomorrow, you’ll regret this!
He waved to the audience: “Good night! Tomorrow at 10 a.m., Heartbeat Moment will air on time!”
After a full day of live streaming, everyone returned to their rooms to rest.
Jiang Yurou leaned close to Wen Lingyue and whispered, “You did that on purpose, didn’t you? Using He Yan to cover up that you like Brother Huailang.”
Wen Lingyue: “…Go check your brain if you have a problem.”
Heartbeat Moment became an instant hit, igniting the entire internet.

…
Wen Lingyue single-handedly dominated the trending charts.
The three major CP (couple) combinations—Yu Yue, Li Yue, and Lin Jian Yue—appeared strongly online. The massive buzz even reached Yang Yihong, who was abroad.
After understanding the situation, he pushed open the study door.
Fu Yuanzhang had just finished a remote meeting and was resting with his eyes closed.
Yang Yihong handed him a cup of tea: “Has the young master been in contact with Miss Wen lately?”
Fu Yuanzhang kept his eyes closed, as if he hadn’t heard.
“I heard Miss Wen joined a show.”
Yang Yihong glanced at Fu Yuanzhang’s expression and whispered: “It’s a dating reality show.”
Fu Yuanzhang opened his eyes. His gaze was pitch-black and piercing.
After a long pause, he asked: “What’s the show called?”
“Heartbeat Moment.”
…
The explosive popularity of Heartbeat Moment healed Fu Xin’s wounded ego. He perked up and started the next day’s live stream.
As the stream went live, a massive audience flooded in, and the room’s popularity skyrocketed.
On the lawn outside the villa, eight guests were impeccably groomed—handsome men, beautiful women.
Fu Xin smiled: “Today’s theme is—A Romantic Island Adventure!”
“Guests, please board the boat. We’ll be heading to a tropical island together.”
The eight guests boarded the boat and sailed out. After an hour and a half, they arrived at the island.
Jagged cliffs loomed ahead. Dense vegetation covered much of the land, and the wind blowing through gave a sense of desolation.
Wen Lingyue had a bad feeling: “Director, is this a romantic island adventure?”
“Of course.”
Lin Rui looked around: “Where’s the romance?”
This was a completely undeveloped, pristine island.
Fu Xin said: “Yes, the conditions are harsh. But under survival pressure, you’ll truly test the relationships between people.”
“So?”
“So, you’ll spend two days and one night on the island.”
The eight guests’ expressions soured.
Fu Xin continued: “Don’t worry. We’ve prepared supplies for you, and the island has supply points.”
“Initial supplies: two tents.”
After speaking, Fu Xin brought out a lottery box: “Next, pick your supplies. These are the only items you can take to the island. Each person can pick only once.”
The eight took turns drawing.
Wen Lingyue drew a small blue ball. Opening it revealed a note: “One outdoor survival knife.”
Pei Jingli: “I got a pot.”
Lin Rui: “I got a mosquito-repellent bracelet.”
…
Supplies were scarce; no one drew food.
Fu Xin continued: “Jiang Yurou and Zhou Huailang matched yesterday. Next, please receive the surprise grand prize prepared by the production team.”
He handed over a black backpack.
Zhou Huailang opened it: inside were two cups of instant noodles and two bottles of water.
“…”
Zhou Huailang was speechless. Truly a “grand prize.”
Fu Xin waved: “Enjoy your island adventure.”
With that, the production team left. On the deserted island, only the eight guests remained, and the sea breeze added a lonely, bleak feeling.
The desolate scene had the audience laughing out loud.
[Yesterday, escaping a locked room; today, surviving on a deserted island]
[The show doesn’t let the guests have a single easy day]
[Yesterday was the Heartbeat Castle, today a romantic island—the production team really understands dating shows]
“Let’s go find the supplies,” Wen Lingyue accepted reality and looked at the sun: “Southward.”
They traversed cliffs, rubble, and wild grass. The group struggled but found nothing.
Under the scorching sun, Jiang Yurou, annoyed after her makeup was ruined, complained: “Wen Lingyue, what kind of path is this? We shouldn’t have gone this way!”
Wen Lingyue pointed ahead: “There’s a water source up ahead.”
Jiang Yurou frowned: “How do you know?”
Wen Lingyue tapped her head.
A simple gesture nearly broke Jiang Yurou’s composure.
At this moment, both the audience and Jiang Yurou felt the same sense of empathy.
[Not very harmful, but highly insulting]
[I have a feeling Jiang Yurou is about to humiliate herself again]
Pei Jingli cautiously explained: “This island is high around the edges and low in the middle. There’s a valley ahead with lush green vegetation. There must be water there.”
Jiang Yurou choked on his words, but her arrogance only grew: “We’re looking for the production team’s supplies. Why care about water?”
She sneered: “I’m not drinking that water.”
Wen Lingyue looked at her: “Then take a different path.”
“Fine, let’s switch!” Jiang Yurou grabbed Zhou Huailang.
After a moment, Zhou Huailang looked at the others: “The production team probably didn’t place supplies along that path. We might as well take a different one.”
Pei Jingli, Lin Rui, and Yu Yan all moved closer to Wen Lingyue. Their intentions were obvious.
He Ran and Li Qingqing hesitated, then chose to follow Zhou Huailang’s group. After searching for a long time with no luck, they decided to switch paths.
Thus, the two teams split.
Wen Lingyue and her three companions continued forward. A pure mountain spring gurgled down the rocks, and not far off, a stream flowed slowly.
Everything Wen Lingyue saw looked like edible ingredients. She casually said, “Let’s have fish for lunch.”
Huh?
The other three stared at the stream in disbelief.
Lin Rui’s throat went dry: “…Catch fish with our bare hands?”
Wen Lingyue nodded.
She approached the stream, pulled up some grass, and beat the roots and stems hard on a rock. A milky white juice poured out.
Yu Yan stepped back two paces, whispering: “Sister Lingyue… are you crazy?”
Lin Rui: “…She’s been driven crazy by the production team.”
“This is fish vine grass?” Pei Jingli joined Wen Lingyue, feeling the plant looked familiar.
Wen Lingyue nodded.
Pei Jingli understood. He pulled up some grass and started pounding it on the rock as well.
Yu Yan and Lin Rui: …Another one gone crazy.
Wen Lingyue looked at the two dazed men: “Come help.”
She explained: “This is fish vine grass. The juice in its roots contains rotenone, which can stun fish and help us catch them.”
Yu Yan and Lin Rui hesitated: “Really?”
“Really.”
They moved.
“Clap clap clap—”
The four crouched by the stream, pounding the grass.
Their synchronized movements looked like cattle and horses driven mad by forced labor.
The audience watching the highly uniform actions were dazed—crazy.
The world had gone mad.
[One dares to say it, another dares to believe it]
[Too insane, the production team should check on the mental state of the artists]
[Welcome to Heartbeat Moment Special Episode 2: Deserted Island Survival Driven Crazy]
Fu Xin, rarely doubting himself, thought: Did I go too far?
Guests, already worn out from the last episode, were about to be pushed over the edge again.
