Married to the Boss in the ’70s: All He Wants Is a Child Chapter 29

Chapter 29

Jiang Tian happily returned home and took out a cup of hot milk from her space.

“Here, want some?”

“Mm.”

She didn’t expect that the man in front of her would take a sip himself, then pull her over and press his lips to hers. The rich scent of milk exploded in her mouth, mingled with his own unique taste.

Jiang Tian nearly melted in his arms from the kiss, her whole body going weak.

“Xie Chen!”

Her eyelashes were still damp, and though she was glaring at him, there was a faint trace of shyness hidden in her expression.

“Wifey, don’t glare at me like that again, or I might not be able to hold back.”

Jiang Tian turned her head away. “Then don’t kiss me anymore!”

Xie Chen nuzzled against her neck. “No way. If I can’t eat meat, then at least I need to satisfy myself a little with kisses and cuddles every day.”

The two of them cuddled on the heated bed for a while until Jiang Tian suddenly remembered the juicy gossip she’d picked up earlier.

She told the story vividly to Xie Chen, who hugged her tighter and rubbed against her. “Happy, are you?”

Jiang Tian shook his hand playfully. “Of course! At least now no one will come bothering us anymore.”

Seeing her like that, Xie Chen tapped her nose lightly. “True enough.”

Once the topic passed, Jiang Tian began thinking about New Year’s food.

There were only a few days left before New Year’s Day, and she wanted to make some little treats.

In her past life, she would spend New Year’s Eve at home eating hot pot, watching the countdown concerts, or at the very least scrolling through short videos.

Back then, entertainment options were endless—she could spend an entire day just browsing clothes on Taobao.

But now, in the 1970s, no household even had a television. She remembered from the period novels that during the slack farming season, families would simply sit together on the heated bed and chat.

Hot pot wasn’t possible without electric appliances, so she had to come up with other things to eat.

She also remembered that Xie Chen’s birthday was coming up—just a few days before New Year’s.

She thought she’d try making a few little things over the next few days, then celebrate his birthday properly.

She figured out what she could do now. She could bake a cake in the villa’s oven, but as for the cream, she’d have to let the others whip it up by hand, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to fool Lu Shili and Little Ears.

Aside from cake, she wanted to make some quirky snacks—like glutinous rice balls using malted milk and the milk from her space, or even popsicles with eight-treasure porridge.

For munchies, she could roast some sunflower seeds or fry some peanuts to have as snacks.

With the New Year still some time away, she suddenly thought of sending some things to Beijing for her grandparents, whom she had never met.

After discussing it with Xie Chen, they decided to send two chickens, two rabbits, and a fish, along with some vegetables—just a few heads of cabbage and some radishes. From her space, she could also take out some sausages and meat sauce. That would be enough.

She had originally planned not to go to town before the New Year, but it looked like they would have to make a trip after all.

Xie Chen, hearing this, also wanted to go to town with her.

To his shame, he had only ever been there twice in his life—once to see a doctor, and the second time to register his marriage with Jiang Tian.

He wanted to go to the hospital for a check-up, to hurry along the day when he could finally share the marital bed with Jiang Tian.

“Then tomorrow, let’s head out early. We’ll have breakfast at the state-run restaurant, then send off the package. After that, we’ll go to the hospital for a full check-up.”

“Okay.”

Overjoyed, Xie Chen cupped her face in his hands and gave her a kiss.
