Chapter 24: A Small Fortune
Although Su Ning wanted to retort to Ma Shangfei as she would to a random passerby, Ma Shangfei was, after all, Huoyang’s lifesaver. She held back her irritation and privately messaged Huoyang.
“Come out quickly, I’m about to go to war with Ma Shangfei.”
Huoyang was confused. He had been told that Su Ning wanted to rest. What could have happened now?
When Huoyang appeared, Ma Shangfei resumed his long-winded lecture and tried to grab Su Ning’s hand, which she quickly dodged.
Huoyang’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest. Su Ning hadn’t struck back—she was really giving him face.
He stepped forward, pulled Ma Shangfei into a hug, and backed up two steps. Then he said to Su Ning: “Su Ge, Duoduo says to rest well. She’ll send breakfast to you soon; you can eat when you wake up.”
Covering Ma Shangfei’s mouth again, he added, “Su Ge, rest well. We’ll leave first, okay?”
Su Ning rolled her eyes and shut the door. Inside, she temporarily let go of her annoyance and continued sleeping.
Outside, Ma Shangfei struggled to free himself from Huoyang, glaring with frustration.
“Huoyang, you can’t spoil her like this! Her temper will only get worse.”
Huoyang felt like hitting him. How had he never realized this guy meddled so much?
“Enough. Su Ge isn’t that kind of girl. She’s not that delicate. If she says she wants to rest, she really needs to rest. You’d better go back and prepare more potions.”
He pushed Ma Shangfei away. None of the three noticed that the door to the Ma siblings’ room was slightly ajar, and through the crack, Ma Shangting’s eyes glowed with increasing resentment.
Meanwhile, on Yiping Street, Luo Nanchuan, who received the equipment attributes, looked astonished.
He hadn’t expected Su Ning could craft a wand with a +10 bonus. Given time, she could become incredibly wealthy.
He could afford the two-silver-coin price increase and replied to the message approving it, continuing to grind monsters with Yan Han for money.
After all, Su Ning’s workshop was both a treasure trove and a money pit.
By dusk, Su Ning slowly woke up. She received Mr. Fat Sheep’s reply and quickly requested a remote trade.
Trading items: +5 Hoodie, Sweet Osmanthus Wand
Items from the other party: 7 silver coins
She pressed the trade button. Looking at her backpack, now holding 25 silver and 30 copper, she was slightly surprised—when had she accumulated so much money?
Opening her workshop, everything had sold out. Su Ning was ecstatic and immediately listed five simple headbands again.
At this sales rate, five simple headbands a day could earn 10 silver coins. It was fantastic—and still in high demand.
Unavoidably, customer messages flooded in like a tidal wave.
Some were private custom requests, but most were like the reviews: bargaining, trades, threats, extortion.
Su Ning added two automatic replies:
Looking at market conditions, the extra Eight-Point Wands would also need to be sold. But there was no rush; Mr. Fat Sheep’s private order had already eased Su Ning’s immediate concern.
With a small fortune in hand, Su Ning naturally didn’t rush, diving once again into crafting with full focus.
After eating the breakfast sent by Qiao Duoduo, she disassembled the sheep from Fat Sheep over the past two days.
She first sheared the wool, planning to save enough later to make a woolen fabric.
Then she skinned them. These were top-quality lambskins, requiring careful handling.
Unfortunately, Su Ning lacked some experience—she ruined two out of three skins. Luckily, it wasn’t a big problem. She sent them to the crafting assistant system, approved for making leather. Later, she could make small leather boots that would be very comfortable.
She separated the meat and bones and discarded the innards.
She kept the meat but was drawn to the bones. Could a wand made from bones awaken her rare demonic bloodline?
After some thought, Su Ning decided to try. She saved the bones from all three sheep and planned to craft a batch of bone specimens once the lambskins were ready.
She also reviewed the 78 cards dropped by the mice yesterday—quite a lot.
This time: 50 green cards, 18 blue cards, 10 white cards.
White cards included 8 white buns and 2 toothbrushes.
Green cards were the majority.
60% were food items, 20% daily necessities, and the rest were interesting:
Green Items:
Looking at the green cards, Su Ning realized the mice hoarded an incredible amount of supplies.
Blue Items:
Wow! Su Ning was overjoyed—this was essentially a portable little bedroom. What a gain!
Ordinary bikes were already good. With her farming progress, cars would likely appear soon.
It looked like a baseball cap, soft and comfortable. Agility +3 was perfect, as Su Ning needed Agility.
Warmth +5? Su Ning was puzzled but kept them—winter clothing was always useful.
These last two items seemed custom-made for Su Ning. Instant HP recovery might not be needed, but magic attack boost? Very nice.
MP recovery was essential for a healer like her. As for the beauty effect—if she drank two boxes, would she really become more beautiful?
Of course, she would share the good items—one box of porridge and one box of soup each to her mother and to Qiao Duoduo.
