A Gentleman’s Revenge
Ruan Yuexi looked at Shang Yao with an expression of worship, which others found somewhat pitiful. They should have mocked her, but it was clear that Ruan Yuexi truly loved Shang Yao.
Unfortunately, Shang Yao was a man who appeared cold on the outside but was twisted inside. Once the task was completed, she wouldn’t need to deal with these people anymore. Ruan Yuexi’s main concern was still the male lead in the background.
She didn’t dare to provoke him openly. Such risky behavior was out of the question when her life was at stake.
Feng Yi hugged a beauty without caring about anyone’s gaze.
Ruan Yuexi watched with relish. Just as Feng Yi was about to lean down to kiss the woman in his arms, he casually noticed something out of the corner of his eye.
He paused in confusion and looked up, only to meet Ruan Yuexi’s intense gaze…
Ruan Yuexi was enjoying herself, and he halted his actions. “Continue, continue,” she said, pretending to turn her head away.
Feng Yi gave her an ugly glare, then hugged the woman tighter and continued leaning down. Ruan Yuexi tilted her head and stared at them with curiosity in her eyes.
Feng Yi immediately looked up again. Ruan Yuexi was caught in the act, and she finally felt a bit embarrassed. “Just learning, just learning. Treat me like I’m not here. Do whatever you want.”
Feng Yi was irritated by her behavior and lost his mood. He picked up a cigarette to smoke, but Ruan Yuexi’s disdainful face flashed in his mind. He threw the cigarette into the trash can, his handsome face as dark as the bottom of a pot.
Ruan Yuexi felt it was a pity that things had stopped just then. Feng Yi truly lived up to his role as the fourth male lead, openly embracing a beauty in front of the female lead Tang Qingqing. It seemed he could only settle for being the fourth male lead.
Just now, she noticed Tang Qingqing with the second male lead, Lu Yiliang. Both of their appearances were distinctive, making them easy to recognize. Their complex relationship was similar to that of the male lead Shang Yao. Lu Yiliang was refined and handsome.
Upon closer inspection, he was indeed handsome. Tang Qingqing belonged to the innocent and gentle type, which men typically adored.
The current plot was still developing with the female lead having feelings for the male lead, who didn’t reciprocate yet. It seemed there was a party before her arrival where the original owner embarrassed the female lead, and got publicly scolded by the male lead.
This part of the plot just came to mind—revenge is never too late for a gentleman. Even if the original owner was at fault, Shang Yao’s actions were indeed excessive.
Tonight, she remembered another specific plot point from the party. The female lead was pushed down the stairs by a supporting character, coincidentally saved by the male lead. Who could resist the allure of a hero saving a beauty?
For the first time, the male lead began to have feelings for the female lead, and the supporting character suffered. She claimed she was innocent of the push accusation, but who would believe her? She was accused and slapped by Lu Yiliang, making her situation worse than a fall from grace.
Ruan Yuexi glanced at Shang Yao, who was focused on a magazine, looking handsome and composed. She hadn’t expected him to be so gossipy.
“Brother Yao, I didn’t expect you to be so gossipy.” Ruan Yuexi said with a smile as she approached him.
Shang Yao closed the magazine with a crisp snap, his fair and slender fingers. His deep and intimidating eyes turned towards Ruan Yuexi once again.
Ruan Yuexi acted as if she didn’t notice. “Why stop reading? Is the magazine not interesting? How about looking at me instead?”
“You’re so noisy,” Shang Yao’s deep voice sounded near Ruan Yuexi’s ear. He stared at her with a gaze that could kill.
It seemed he really disliked her. Well, the more he disliked her, the closer she would get to annoy him. It was a win-win for both increasing the abuse-value.
“Brother Yao, Xi’er is only noisy to Brother Yao because Xi’er loves Brother Yao.” Ruan Yuexi blinked at him with a sweet smile that was almost nauseating. In reality, she felt disgusted, but lying with her eyes open was not too uncomfortable.
“Shut up,” Shang Yao said coldly.
“No, Xi’er loves Brother Yao the most. Even if Brother Yao has smelly feet, snores while sleeping, and grinds his teeth, I still like him. Love begets love,” Ruan Yuexi reached out and hugged Shang Yao’s arm, grinning at him, looking very “sincere.”
Shang Yao’s handsome face was icy and cold. He forcefully removed Ruan Yuexi’s hand.
Feng Yi, on the other side, was almost laughing at her antics. Ruan Yuexi’s voice was not loud, but those closer to her could hear.
“What’s wrong with you?” Feng Yi’s companion noticed his twitching.
Feng Yi suppressed a smile and waved his hand to indicate nothing was wrong. Just as he looked towards Ruan Yuexi, she was staring at him inexplicably.
“You’ve got a piece of vegetable stuck in your teeth,” Ruan Yuexi said.
Feng Yi: … I really want to slap her!
Ruan Yuexi’s hand, still holding Shang Yao’s arm, was once again pulled away. “Brother Yao, why won’t you let me touch you?” Her voice was loud and aggrieved, instantly drawing everyone’s attention to her and Shang Yao.
Time to act, time to act. It’s time to set the stage for the male lead.
Tang Qingqing’s heart sank a little, her face turning even paler. Lu Yiliang frowned and comfortingly took her hand, casting a disdainful glance in Ruan Yuexi’s direction.
