A Guide to Raising a Demon Cub
A Guide to Raising a Demon Cub Chapter 33

After class, Hilaire went to the demons’ place for a meal. When the Greater Demons heard Hilaire was already learning to write, they immediately showered him with praise.

The little demon, who had forgotten everything and couldn’t write a single character now, blushed slightly with embarrassment from the praise.

Today he wore a fluffy black goat outfit made for him by Baph. The black curly-haired clothes set off the cub’s fair skin, and the black hat with curved brown horns looked extremely cute.

Facing the envious and jealous gazes of the other demons, Baph held his chin up reservedly. He had practiced for a long time to make it! Now, seeing His Highness wear it, it really did look good.

That golden-haired, green-eyed angel nearby was staring intently! Next, he would make a white goat outfit for His Highness too.

Garcia had been staring at the little demon all morning. The cub in the black goat outfit was also so cute!

Yesterday’s little dragon clothes were already off the charts for cuteness; he didn’t expect today could be even cuter!

Upon learning these clothes were made by the skeleton demon and the black goat demon, Garcia looked at them with adoration.

These demons are really amazing! I want to learn too!

The three Hellhounds squatted in a corner, wolfing down their food. They had slept all day and were hungry for a long time.

After a lively meal, Hilaire headed back with the Hellhounds. There was still some time before the afternoon class. Hilaire decided to take an afternoon nap first; then he could go to class after waking up.

The three round, chubby Hellhounds followed obediently behind the little demon. The City of Light was inhabited only by the angel race, so their streets weren’t particularly wide. The three Hellhounds walking side-by-side already took up the entire street.

Angels squeezed along the way all looked towards the three Hellhounds. Although the two-meter-long demonic beasts looked imposing from afar, these three were simply too fat.

Their roly-poly appearance made them look exceptionally naive and good-natured when walking. Coupled with the spirited little curly-haired black cub leading the way, the combination indeed made the angels chuckle.

These past few days, all the angels in the City of Light knew the Demon King’s son was just a tiny little cub, and extremely cute at that.

Angels, having never seen such a creature in the Celestial Realm, were all very curious about him.

Moreover, his performance in class these two days had also been spread by other angels; everyone seemed very interested in what the Demon King’s son did in class today.

Previously, life in the City of Light was regular and placid. Now, a stone thrown into the calm lake created ripples sufficient to bring new changes to the entire City of Light.

Hilaire, being watched, felt delighted.

Everyone is looking at me!

So, the smug little demon tilted his chin up, puffed out his chest, and strode forward boldly, determined to show off his “mighty and imposing” side.

But the next second, he tripped and fell.

The little demon lay motionless after tumbling to the ground. Only when the surrounding angels gathered around concernedly did he slowly lift his head, waving a small hand. “I’m fine!”

“Are you really alright?” Garcia asked hesitantly.

“Fine!” Hilaire, eyes brimming with tears, answered decisively. He climbed up from the ground and continued walking forward nonchalantly, as if nothing had happened.

Only after the other angels had left and he had returned to his residence did the little demon swoosh burst into tears. “Hurts!”

Lucifer: “…Why didn’t you say it hurt just now?”

“Just now… everyone was there,” Hilaire sniffled, pulling up his sleeve, revealing scraped skin on his elbow.

“Here!” The little demon held up his arm for Lucifer to see.

“Let me see.” Lucifer bent down, seeing there was indeed a scraped patch on the chubby elbow.

The cub’s skin is too tender! Getting injured just from a fall?

He reached out, tentatively touching the scraped area.

“Ow-woo~” The little demon yelped in pain, accusing tearfully, “You’re mean!”

“Sorry,” Lucifer apologized, taking a bottle of potion from his pocket.

“What’s this?” Although Hilaire yelled loudly, he kept his elbow extended towards the other, not pulling it back.

“Healing potion.” Lucifer poured out a few drops onto the scraped area, and the wound healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

“Amazing!” Hilaire didn’t hurt anymore and immediately stared at his elbow in amazement. Now he couldn’t even find where the wound had been! “This potion is amazing!”

Lucifer looked at the astonished little demon. “You haven’t seen a healing potion before? Your father previously said you were severely injured in the attack and took away a batch of healing potions from the Archangel.”

“What?”

Seems he really hasn’t seen it.

So where were those potions used after being taken? Lucifer didn’t voice his doubts, looking at the little demon’s blank expression.

He pressed the entire bottle into the other’s hand. “It’s yours. Anyway, angels rarely get injured. Keep it in your storage pouch; you can use it if you get hurt.”

“Thank you!” The little demon hugged the bottle of healing potion. “Is there anything you want? I’ll give you something too.”

“No.”

Hilaire pondered. The other gave him a healing potion; he could give something similar in return. His storage pouch seemed to have just the thing!

“I have poison; do you want some?”

Poison? Why carry poison around?

“No need,” Lucifer refused.

Hilaire put the healing potion into his storage pouch and didn’t insist upon hearing the refusal. “Then if you want anything, you can tell me!”

Afterward, the little demon took an afternoon nap and was woken up by Lucifer to attend the afternoon class.

The afternoon class was still taught by the Archangel. Today they were learning tea appreciation. Because the Celestial Realm lacked gourmet food and many plants grew here, a preference for tea appreciation slowly developed, which the Archangel particularly enjoyed.

During class, he brewed tea with smooth, flowing movements like moving clouds and flowing water, then presented the brewed tea to Hilaire.

Hilaire smelled the tea fragrance wafting through the air, sitting there expectantly, watching longingly.

Smells very fragrant! Must be delicious!

When the Archangel handed him the cup, Hilaire said thank you happily, immediately took it, and drank a large gulp.

The little demon shivered from the bitterness, his little tail stiffening straight.

“How is it?” the Archangel asked.

Forcing down the tea, the little demon’s chubby face scrunched up. “Bitter.”

“Prince Hilaire, you must savor it carefully. When first sipped, it is indeed somewhat bitter, but afterward, there is a lingering sweet aftertaste that moistens the mouth. Did you feel it?”

The little demon shook his head. He looked hesitantly at the surrounding angels; everyone was calmly drinking the bitter tea.

They can even drink such bitter water? Too pitiful!

Hilaire took out a large bottle of fruit juice from his storage pouch, placed it on the table, and announced assertively, “I’ll treat everyone to juice! It’s yummy! Sweet!”

The Archangel felt helpless. “Prince Hilaire, this class is for learning tea appreciation, not for everyone to drink juice.”

The little demon frowned, staring at him. The tea was so bitter; his mouth was full of bitterness now, very unpleasant.

A cub’s sense of taste was naturally sensitive; flavors that seemed mild to adult demons and angels appeared extremely strong to a cub.

Hilaire found it exceptionally bitter; he didn’t like drinking tea.

“Learn this later too?”

“What?” The Archangel didn’t understand.

“Later… drink tea every day?” Hilaire looked at him.

The Archangel nodded. “Yes. Tea appreciation can also teach us elegance, relax the mind, and foster composure in handling matters. I believe it is a very necessary course.”

His words had barely faded when the little demon tilted his head back, clenched his fists, and opened his mouth wide: “Waa waa~~~”

Lucifer put down his cup. “Archangel, you made him cry again.”

Garcia also put down his cup, whispering complaints, “Actually, I also find this kind of tea very bitter. In the City of Light, besides the Archangel, probably only Teacher Edena likes drinking such bitter tea.”

The Archangel felt helpless, wondering how the Demon King’s son could cry so easily. He couldn’t comfort him even after trying for a long time.

Finally, only after he apologized and stated he would seriously reconsider future lessons did the little demon stop crying.

Then he watched this little demon hug the large juice bottle and shakily pour a cup for him. “Please drink.”

The Archangel felt this scene was uncannily familiar, completely overlapping with the situation two days ago when he was forced to eat berries. But he could only accept the cup and take a sip in front of the other.

The Demon Realm’s fruit juice was fresh-pressed, the clear, sweet fruit flavor carrying a hint of tartness; indeed very delicious.

Not only did the Archangel find it good, but the other angels also seemed to quite like this flavor they had never encountered before.

The little demon wagged his tail smugly. “Yummy, right?”

The original tea appreciation class turned into a juice tasting session. The helpless Archangel held his cup, sipping juice while sighing internally.

Looks like this class is impossible to teach.

Hilaire was very happy; everyone liked the juice he brought! He took out two more large bottles from his storage pouch.

Angels are too pitiful! Not only no food, but they’ve never even had juice! Here, drink! Drink more!

But only when he saw the three empty bottles did he belatedly realize – everyone finished the juice! Then what would he drink?

Little demon: …

Wuwu~

The afternoon class ended quickly again. The Archangel silently gathered his things, preparing to go back and think hard about exactly which courses to offer the Demon King’s son, and how he should interact with him.

Suddenly, something caught the corner of his eye. Turning his head, he only saw pots of meticulously cared-for flowers placed there.

Among them, the most eye-catching was the Demon-Eating Flower. Not only were its colors vibrant, but it was also the tallest. The Archangel remembered this flower hadn’t been fed today, and the Demon King’s son ran off right after class – who knows where – surely forgetting to feed the flower.

He could only find some insects himself and place them beside the Demon-Eating Flower.

Because this plant was highly vigilant and wouldn’t eat while they were present, the Archangel left after placing the food nearby.

After the Archangel left, the Demon-Eating Flower bent its stem and ate all the insects in one gulp. Although these insects were much smaller than those in the Demon Realm, their nutritional value was very high. After eating, the Demon-Eating Flower still wanted more, but there were no more insects around.

This Demon-Eating Flower remained quietly in its pot for a long time. Deep into the night, it suddenly moved.

It pulled its roots out of the flowerpot. This action wasn’t actually difficult; after all, back in the Demon Realm, it grew in a garden and would occasionally swap places with its companions secretly. Plus, it had only been transplanted into this pot a few days ago; the loose soil made movement easy.

The Demon-Eating Flower’s root system was plump; its two forked roots looked like two feet from afar. It moved these two feet, taking small, mincing steps, slowly leaving the academy.

The flowers and trees planted along the streets sometimes had insects too. The Demon-Eating Flower searched plant by plant; once it found insects, it immediately ate them.

The City of Light was very quiet at night. After all, angels kept regular schedules and had no nightlife; everyone was asleep at this time.

Not a single angel noticed a plant running loose on the streets.

The Demon-Eating Flower ate more and more insects, and its size grew larger and larger, from over a meter tall gradually to two meters, three meters, four meters…

Coupled with the extremely suitable temperature and environment of the Celestial Realm, and no demonic beasts around to gnaw on them, the Demon-Eating Flower grew wantonly.

By dawn, it was already over ten meters tall. The giant fiery red flower looked somewhat top-heavy. The Demon-Eating Flower knew many angels would be on the streets after dawn, so it took small, mincing steps, preparing to return to the academy.

Constans woke up very early. He spent every day trying to enter the magic array. But today, he stood outside the array, seemingly frozen, staring intently into the distance.

“What are you looking at? Did the magic array finally kill you?” Bazel walked over.

Constans pointed a hand towards the distance. “Clack?” What is that?

Bazel followed the direction his finger bone pointed. Somewhere within the City of Light, a giant flower was slowly moving. Because most buildings in the City of Light were only one or two stories high, and some iconic towers weren’t densely packed, the ten-meter-plus tall red flower was exceptionally conspicuous.

“A flower? What are these angels up to? How did they make such a huge flower?” Bazel completely failed to connect this flower with the Demon-Eating Flower; after all, the size difference was too immense.

“Looks quite pretty, though,” Bazel stroked his chin, admiring it.

The Archangel was woken up early in the morning. Hearing an angel report that a flower was running loose on the street, for a moment, he couldn’t tell if he was still dreaming.

“Archangel, please go out and see quickly! Everyone saw it! A flower is running on the street, heading towards the academy now!”

The Demon-Eating Flower had a good idea: return to its pot in the academy, and it could pretend it never went out. But it didn’t know its volume had increased more than tenfold overnight. Running back through the streets like this, taking small mincing steps, was simply too conspicuous and bizarre.

And angels kept regular schedules; by this time, most angels were already up. Seeing the ten-meter-plus tall flower, they all curiously approached, wanting to see what it was.

Looking at the increasing number of angels, the Demon-Eating Flower: “…”

After evolving overnight, it used its limited intelligence to think about how not to be discovered, and then came up with a great idea.

The angels were looking up at this giant flower, guessing what kind it was. And how did it appear here?

Then, the Demon-Eating Flower rapidly extended long, thin tendrils, wrapped them around the surrounding angels, and stuffed them into its mouth to eat.

Demon-Eating Flower: If I eat them all, they won’t discover me!

Along the way, any angel who ran over to watch the spectacle was eaten by the Demon-Eating Flower. Some who realized something was wrong and tried to escape were also bound by the lightning-fast tendrils.

When the Archangel rushed over frantically, he arrived just in time to see the Demon-Eating Flower snatch up an angel and stuff it into its mouth.

How could the Archangel not recognize this flower?! This was clearly the Demon-Eating Flower brought by the Demon King’s son! But why had it grown so large overnight?!

And it was eating angels!

His vision went black; he almost passed out.

Lucifer, leading the little demon, also happened to walk over. Hilaire stared in amazement at the enormous Demon-Eating Flower. “What flower is this? How come I’ve never seen it before?”

“This should be a Demon-Eating Flower.”

Lucifer and Hilaire had just stepped out when they saw this extremely conspicuous flower in the city. The little demon strongly insisted on coming over to see. Lucifer recognized it as a Demon-Eating Flower from the start, but Hilaire didn’t believe him; his Flower wasn’t this big!

The little demon was shocked. “But… Why is it so big? Ah ah, it’s eating angels!”

Lucifer pondered, “This should count as an invasive species, right?”
