A Kiss Under the Summer Sky Chapter 10

Chapter 10 – What’s Your Relationship with Sheng Yize?

Chen Yi’s expression froze.

He looked at the girl in front of him.

Her little face was fair, delicate features, and her eyes—so beautiful, like obsidian, clear and bright. As she looked up at him, there was tension and expectation in her gaze.

She really wanted to know why Sheng Yize hated her so much.

And as Sheng Yize’s sworn brother, Chen Yi also wanted to know why that guy disliked such a lovely girl!

She was so well-behaved, so adorable!

He couldn’t make sense of it.

Chen Yi opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end, he couldn’t utter a single word in defense.

The anticipation on Sang Sui’s face slowly faded. She lowered her lashes, disappointment written all over her face.
“Even you don’t know…”

“…”

Chen Yi scratched his head. “Actually, have you ever thought… maybe Sheng Yize doesn’t hate you?”

She was stunned.

Chen Yi spoke with sincerity, “Sang Sui, based on what I know about Sheng Yize, maybe he doesn’t actually dislike you.”

“It’s just… maybe there’s something he’s hiding in his heart, something he hasn’t told anyone.”

“For now… he just doesn’t like you that much yet.”

Chen Yi eventually dropped her off downstairs at her dorm and left.

Sang Sui thanked him, then climbed the stairs.

What Chen Yi said didn’t ease her sadness much.

Perhaps it was because of the secret, unspoken affection—because of it, even the slightest change in his attitude made her sad.

She shouldn’t have been so cautious in front of him.

Sang Sui scooped up some water and splashed it on her face, the droplets sliding down her features.

Staring at herself in the mirror, she finally sighed. After squeezing out some facial cleanser and washing her face, she turned and went back to the room.

It was Sunday—no classes—and she had taken leave from her part-time job. The sudden free time made her feel a little out of place.

She glanced around the dorm. All three of her roommates were there.

There were four people in their room, each with a bed, desk, and wardrobe.

The desk and bed were connected—bed on top, desk and wardrobe below.

At the moment, Lin Luoluo was sitting at her desk, focused on her bullet journal.

Li En was lying on her bed, scrolling on her phone. Her expression shifted constantly—from serious to eyes glowing with excitement. She was probably reading school gossip.

As for Leng Siran…

Sang Sui looked across at the girl on the opposite bed. She was in a pretty dress, putting on makeup in front of the mirror.

In their dorm, Leng Siran was the one who loved beauty the most. She always wore makeup when going out—even if it was just to pick up a package.

But she had good features and a great figure. Even with light makeup, she could easily stand out in a crowd.

Sang Sui pulled out her chair and sat down. Having just washed her face, she was about to apply some toner and moisturizer.

Suddenly, Li En seemed to see something shocking. She sprang up from bed like a carp leaping out of water—

“Holy crap! They’re holding hands!!”

Everyone was startled by her sudden outburst. Lin Luoluo couldn’t help but shoot her a glance.

“So what if they’re holding hands? What’s the big deal?”

“Lin Luoluo, do you even know who is holding hands?!”

“Nope. I don’t care.” She went back to working on her journal.

“It’s Sheng Yize!!” As soon as she said his name, Li En got hyped like she had sniffed out some juicy gossip. “You guys know, right? That school legend—he’s holding hands with Zhou Xizi!”

The hand applying moisturizer froze mid-air.

Leng Siran immediately stood up, dashed over to Li En’s bed, and snatched her phone to scroll up.

The school forum was flooded with that news.

Lin Luoluo didn’t seem to care much, but just to keep the mood going, she asked,
“Really? Tell us about it then.”

That piqued Li En’s interest. She immediately sat cross-legged and began recounting excitedly,
“Sheng Yize, a third-year senior in our Computer Science program, was the top science scorer in the province’s college entrance exam.”

“He’s not only super smart and good-looking, but also the heir to Sheng Corporation. A literal golden boy born with a silver spoon in his mouth!”

Lin Luoluo paused what she was doing and widened her eyes. “Damn, is he even human?! While others are born in barns, he was born in Rome!”

“Exactly! But I heard…” Li En clicked her tongue, “That guy plays pretty hard in private. Total player. He’s had a string of girlfriends—none lasted over a month.”

Lin Luoluo snorted, “Isn’t that normal? If I had his kind of looks and money, I’d have a new hot guy every day too.”

Li En: “…”

Noticing that Sang Sui had been silent the whole time, Li En suddenly seemed to remember something.
“Oh right, Sang Sui.”

Sang Sui snapped out of it. “Hmm?”

Li En leaned over with a nosy grin on her face—

“I heard that on the day freshmen registered, someone saw Sheng Yize pick you up from school and help carry your luggage. You two know each other?”
