A Kiss Under the Summer Sky Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Sheng Yize Doesn’t Like Her

Sheng Yize had driven there, but since he had been drinking, he couldn’t drive himself home. So, he ordered a designated driver online.

The designated driver pulled the car up in front of them and came to a stop.

Sang Sui opened the car door and glanced at the spacious, clean backseat, but didn’t dare get in.

Her head was spinning, and her stomach churned. If she couldn’t hold it in and ended up vomiting in his car, he would definitely throw her out without hesitation.

The man stood behind her with his hands in his pockets. Seeing her hesitate, he suddenly spoke in a cold voice, “Getting in or not?”

Sang Sui stepped aside, lifting her pale little face, and cautiously asked, “If I… if I throw up in your car… would you yell at me?”

The man raised an eyebrow, his voice laced with danger. “What do you think?”

“……”

Forget it. She wasn’t getting in.

Bang—

She closed the car door.

Sheng Yize: “……”

The girl staggered back a few steps and turned around to leave, swaying slightly.

Sheng Yize let out a deep breath. With a long arm, he reached out and pulled her back.

“Where are you going?”

“I’ll take a cab home myself. Let me go.”

“You have money?”

“Of course I do!” Sang Sui swatted away his hand, hiccuped from the alcohol, and started digging through her pockets.

Then she realized—her phone was gone!

In disbelief, she frantically searched all over herself, only to confirm—she really didn’t have it!

“My phone… I left it…”

Sheng Yize’s patience ran out. He directly hauled her over and shoved her into the back seat.

Sang Sui tumbled into the soft cushion and was just about to climb out from the other side when his low, stern voice dropped—

“Stay put.”

Startled, Sang Sui didn’t dare move and turned her head.

The car interior was quite spacious, but when the tall man bent down to get in, the space instantly felt suffocating.

He rested one arm along the backrest, practically caging her in, his eyes fixed on her without saying a word.

Sang Sui gulped, the words on her lips swallowed back down.

She immediately sat up straight and widened the distance between them.

After a long moment.

The man finally gave a soft snort, retracted his arm, and sat upright.

“Yunjing University.”

The car slowly pulled away.

The interior fell quiet. Sang Sui couldn’t help but glance at the man beside her.

He leaned back in his seat, legs crossed, one hand resting on his knee, the other dangling off the side.

Dressed in a suit, his half-closed eyes were calm. The position made his shirt stretch taut, faintly outlining his abs. His waist was slender and well-defined.

His legs were long—just half-extended and they nearly occupied the entire backseat.

Tall and imposing, even just sitting there silently, Sang Sui could feel a powerful pressure radiating from him.

Sheng Yize didn’t like her. That was something she had only gradually come to realize after staying at the Sheng family for a long time.

It was because he didn’t like her that when she came to the university he attended, he treated her like a stranger, told her not to call him “brother,” and didn’t lift a finger when his friends pressured her into drinking.

So cold.

So cold that even when he publicly acknowledged her as his sister in front of others, Sang Sui didn’t dare to cross the line even a little.

The alcohol was taking a stronger toll now, and her stomach was getting worse.

Holding her belly, she leaned her head against the seat, forcing herself to fall asleep.

She didn’t know how long had passed when the car suddenly braked, making her body jolt forward.

She snapped her eyes open.

The car had come to a complete stop, and her body bounced back—her head accidentally bumping into Sheng Yize’s left shoulder.

Frightened, she quickly withdrew, casting him a careful glance. Seeing his eyes closed and his expression unchanged, she quietly sighed in relief.

At that moment, the driver’s voice came from the front.

“Bro, looks like there’s an accident ahead and traffic’s backed up. Want to take another route?”

Sang Sui’s mind clicked, and she quickly asked, “What time is it now?”

“Miss, it’s 11 PM.”

“!!”

She panicked, and her stomach churned even more.

Looking at Sheng Yize, she couldn’t hold back. “Brother…”

The man slowly opened his eyes.

Sang Sui paused, then took back the title. “The school gate closes at 11. Even if we head back now, I won’t make it in time.”

He raised an eyebrow, turning slightly to look at her.

Sang Sui grew even more nervous, sobering up a little from the fear.

She clenched her fists tightly. “Um… maybe you can drop me off at a nearby hotel? I won’t go back to school tonight.”

The moment she finished, she clearly saw a vein twitch on his temple.

He looked extremely annoyed.

Sang Sui got even more flustered. She swallowed hard and was just about to speak again when the man turned his gaze away.

He looked at the driver. “Turn around. Tianfu Community in Bailing District.”

Phew…

Sang Sui let out a breath of relief.

Wait a second.

Tianfu Community?

Isn’t that where he lives off-campus?

Half an hour later.

Ding—

The fingerprint lock beeped as Sheng Yize opened the door.

Sang Sui stood behind him. Throughout the entire ride, she had been so well-behaved she didn’t even dare to breathe loudly.

Her stomach felt even worse.

With the traffic jam and the winding backroads the driver took, it had been a nauseating ride.

Sang Sui was already feeling awful, and she got carsick easily. Now, her stomach felt like it was in constant turmoil.

She was going to throw up!

“This place has three bedrooms and two living rooms. Pick any guest room,” Sheng Yize said without looking back, his voice emotionless. “Also, I don’t like being disturbed. You’d better not make a sound tonight—”

Suddenly, someone tugged on the hem of his coat.

“Sheng Yize.”

His voice paused, and he turned around.

The girl clutched his coat, her little face pale as paper. Her round eyes shimmered with tears, making her look utterly pitiful—

“I… I don’t feel so good.”

“?”

Bang—

Sang Sui suddenly shoved past him and charged into the bathroom like a runaway bull.
