Mo Xin drove the car Liang Qiuchi came in. To avoid the street surveillance catching sight of Liang Qiuchi, it was more appropriate for him to drive on the way back to “Paradise”.
“She didn’t say what’s going on?” Mo Xin tapped the steering wheel with his finger, glancing at Liang Qiuchi thoughtfully. “I’ll go check the situation first when we get there, and then you can show up.”
Liang Qiuchi shook his head. “I’ll go with you.”
Although Wu Yahui didn’t explain the situation in detail, she didn’t send out any warning signals, indicating that “Paradise” was temporarily safe.
“Maybe there’s internal intelligence that she can’t explain over the phone,” Liang Qiuchi could only speculate.
The journey back was smooth. In less than half an hour, the car entered the territory of “Paradise”. A few vagrants chased after the car for a few steps, then were blocked by the rising dust, gradually becoming smaller blurry figures in the rearview mirror.
When they arrived at the B-level contact point after passing through the shantytown, a black car parked at the alley caught Mo Xin’s attention.
Although both the front and rear license plates of the car were deliberately obscured, he recognized the ornament on the windshield.
He turned off the engine, got out of the car, and hurried into the house in three steps.
The usually noisy casino was unusually quiet at this moment, not because business was bad that day, on the contrary, the large hall was now filled with people. They all looked tense, holding weapons, aiming in the same direction.
“Make way.”
Liang Qiuchi gave the order, and the crowd immediately parted to make way.
Mo Xin walked over and saw his big brother, Mo Qi, sitting leisurely on the sofa at the end. He held a glass of wine in one hand and seemed to casually embrace Wu Yahui’s waist with the other.
If you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t even notice the sharp dagger in his hand.
Wu Yahui, who was being held hostage, didn’t panic at all. She even drank from the same glass of wine as Mo Qi. Seeing Liang Qiuchi and Mo Xin return, she sighed helplessly. “Finally, you’re back! Quickly tell them to put down their guns. What I say doesn’t work anymore.”
Liang Qiuchi glanced left and right. Several subordinates hesitated and exchanged glances, but ultimately obediently put down their guns.
Others saw this and also put away their weapons.
Wu Yahui turned her head to look at Mo Qi. “And you?”
Mo Qi smiled and let go of her, twirling the dagger between his fingers a few times before tucking it into his shirt cuff.
“Sorry,” he raised the glass of wine in his hand to Wu Yahui, “I’m usually a gentleman to beautiful women.”
Wu Yahui didn’t respond to his words. She strode past the sofa, went to the nearby gambling table, and opened a bottle of beer to take a few sips.
“Ge, why are you here?” Mo Xin walked up and asked straightforwardly.
Mo Qi didn’t answer. His gaze crossed Mo Xin’s shoulder and fell on Liang Qiuchi. “Long time no see.”
Liang Qiuchi nodded in acknowledgment. He walked to Mo Xin’s side and said to the man on the sofa, “Let’s talk upstairs.”
“Okay,” Mo Qi put down the wine glass. “Lead the way.”
The three men, along with Wu Yahui, went upstairs to the suite. Mo Qi sat down on the sofa, appearing calm as if he were the master there.
“Have a seat,” Liang Qiuchi held Mo Xin’s wrist, gesturing for him to sit beside him.
Mo Xin stood still, looking down at Mo Qi on the sofa. “Are you monitoring me?”
His tone was icy, with a hint of sharp hostility reflecting in his eyes.
Mo Qi looked up at him, still smiling. “Why don’t you sit down first?”
Mo Xin remained motionless, staring straight at him.
Seeing the atmosphere between the two brothers becoming tense, Liang Qiuchi reached out and pulled Mo Xin forcibly to sit beside him.
He said to Mo Qi, “I’m also curious how you found this place.”
Liang Qiuchi didn’t think Mo Qi obtained information by monitoring Mo Xin, as Mo Xin’s sharpness should have prevented him from being monitored without notice.
“Well,” Mo Qi shifted his gaze to Yahui, “thanks to this beautiful lady.”
“Me?” Yahui was smart, and she quickly guessed the situation. “You recognized me that night in the nightclub’s private room.”
“You knew then that Qiuchi and I were meeting, so you had someone follow me from the nightclub to this B-grade contact point?” Yahui asked.
Mo Qi corrected her, “We didn’t follow you all the time.” Then he looked at Liang Qiuchi, “I have no ill intentions. I came here just to find my brother.”
Liang Qiuchi believed he had no ill intentions; otherwise, this place would have been surrounded by the pursuit team.
Mo Xin still sounded unfriendly. “You could have found many ways to locate me. Why use this method?”
“That’s for you to answer,” Mo Qi countered. “Why did you stage that sudden departure at the press conference?”
“Sorry,” Liang Qiuchi said, “I asked him to help me divert some troublesome people.”
“I don’t care about your affairs, but I want to know how my brother plans to handle this situation after making such a big scene in public,” Mo Qi said to Liang Qiuchi with a bright smile. “Besides arresting you a second time, I can’t think of a better solution. Mr. Liang, would you be willing to take a trip with me? Consider it helping me gain some political achievements, how about it?”
Before Liang Qiuchi could react, Mo Xin had already reached out and held the gun at his waist.
Seeing this, Mo Qi couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh. “This is my good brother. He can disown his family for you.”
Liang Qiuchi held Mo Xin’s wrist and said to Mo Qi, “That’s not what he means. Why do you always provoke him?”
“How am I provoking him?” Mo Qi said with a smile that wasn’t a smile. “Mo Xin saved you once; he can definitely find a way to save you a second time. So, Mr. Liang, you can rest assured that my brother is capable.”
“You indeed know everything,” Mo Xin asked in a deep voice. “How did you find out?”
“I suspected it was you on the day of the incident, and after visiting your villa, I was even more certain,” Mo Qi sighed. “Others may not know the relationship between you and Liang Qiuchi, but I’m your brother. Especially in recent years, I’ve seen everything you’ve done. How could I not understand you?”
“Are you saying you support us?” Mo Xin asked.
“Is my opinion important to you?” Mo Qi asked in return.
Mo Xin didn’t answer, and Mo Qi didn’t care about his response. There were more important matters to attend to.
“The reporters can be set aside for now, but Godwin Reinis is a tough person to deal with. How do you plan to handle him?” Mo Qi said softly. “Especially after today’s events, he’ll be watching you even more closely. You’re willing to draw your gun on me, but you’re surprisingly tolerant of him.”
Liang Qiuchi said, “I’ll send someone to take care of him discreetly.”
“Can you guarantee success this time?” Mo Qi joked, “You should know how tough his head is. After all, even a shot to the face from you years ago didn’t kill him.”
Liang Qiuchi smiled, “This time, I’ve got a better gun. Thanks for the reminder.”
“Let’s not touch him for now,” Mo Xin said, “Before dealing with him, I need to get what I want from him.”
Before he could finish his sentence, his phone rang in his pocket. Glancing at the number, he answered the call directly, “See you at the police station in an hour.”
