When the police officer was about five or six meters away from the car, the SUV parked diagonally by the roadside began to shake up and down.
But instead of deterring him, it piqued his curiosity.
He pulled out his baton and walked over, knocking on the tightly wrapped car window.
The shaking stopped, seemingly confirming the situation outside. The police officer knocked on the window a couple more times, and the car window slowly lowered, revealing a gap. Along with the ambiguous heat emanating from inside the car, came the heavy breathing of two men.
“What’s going on? Show me your ID.”
Half a minute later, a slender and fair hand reached out of the car window, holding a rigid card between two fingers.
The police officer took it and glanced at it, only to find that it was a military ID. He shivered all over, leaned closer to the window to look inside, and saw the driver’s seat was reclined, with a man in a black hooded sweatshirt pressing another fair-skinned person against the seat, the two of them maintaining an embracing posture.
After comparing the photo on the ID card, it seemed to match the person being pressed.
Such a young officer.
The police officer suspiciously turned on his flashlight, carefully inspecting the seal on the military ID, his eyes widening in surprise.
“General Mo!” He nervously handed back the ID, straightening his uniform and hat, bowing respectfully through the car door to Mo Xin. “What are you doing here at this hour?”
“What, do I need to report to you when I come out?” A voice from inside the car, dripping with a chilling tone.
The police officer shook his head hastily, filled with anxiety. “Of course not, I apologize for the intrusion, please carry on…”
“Get lost.”
Mo Xin listened as the footsteps hurriedly moved away. Before he could exhale a sigh of relief, Liang Qiuchi leaned over him, giggling.
“Tell me, which news will spread faster tomorrow: the disappearance of Godwin or General Mo’s car rendezvous in the red light district?”
Mo Xin’s cheeks burned, he tried to stop Liang’s teasing by grabbing his hair. “Stop laughing.”
“Okay.” Liang Qiuchi kissed his neck reassuringly. When he tried to retreat to the passenger seat, Mo Xin pulled him back.
As they kissed, Liang asked, “Why the change of heart?”
Mo Xin spread his legs and climbed onto Liang Quichi’s waist, undoing Liang Quichi’s belt. “If we don’t have a car rendezvous, I’ll regret it.”
Liang Qiuchi laughed again. He laid the driver’s seat completely flat, reached back for a pillow from the back seat, and placed it under Mo Xin’s butt.
The car began to shake again in the night, a passing cat stopped outside the car for a moment, listening to the intense movement inside the car, then quietly left.
Since Mo Qi already knew about Liang Qiuchi’s existence, Mo Xin simply drove the car back to his brother’s place and stayed overnight with Liang Qiuchi.
The next morning, when they got up to have breakfast, Wu Yahui and Vincent came back together.
“What happened to your foot?” Liang Qiuchi noticed Vincent limping and gestured for him to sit on the couch and rest. “Do you need to see a doctor?”
It was Vincent’s first time here, feeling a bit awkward. He tried to stand up but was pressed back down by Liang Qiuchi.
Wu Yahui gulped down half a glass of juice before saying, “He looks so agile, but who knew he’d sprain his foot while jumping out a window.”
Vincent looked embarrassed, “It’s been too long since I trained, my movements were clumsy.”
Mo Xin asked, “How did you fall?”
Vincent answered truthfully, “I just finished handling the body last night when Godwin’s colleague came. I panicked and didn’t control my strength when jumping down.” He added quickly, “But don’t worry, the scene was cleaned up very thoroughly, no one would suspect anything.”
“Let’s see if the police station reports him missing later.” Wu Yahui handed Vincent two slices of toast and grabbed a boiled egg for herself to take to her room to rest. “I’m exhausted, don’t disturb me unless it’s an earthquake.”
Vincent glanced at her back, feeling somewhat embarrassed, scratching his head, “I’ve caused her trouble. I didn’t expect Miss Wu Yahui to be so capable.”
Liang Qiuchi comforted him, “Miss Wu Yahui is a paratrooper, she often jumps from planes, so jumping out of a window is a piece of cake for her.”
Vincent nodded in realization.
“After you finish breakfast, take a rest,” Mo Xin said to Vincent, “You’ve worked hard.”
“I’ll arrange the room,” Liang Qiuchi said.
Vincent thanked him and glanced back at Mo Xin as he went upstairs.
Mo Xin sat at the table, chatting with Liang Qiuchi as they ate. Whatever Liang Quichi said, Mo Xin’s lips curved slightly, a gentle expression he had never seen on him before.
It was at this moment that he understood why Mo Xin had been stubbornly looking for Liang Qiuchi for eight years.
Shortly after ten in the morning, Mo Xin’s phone rang. It was his older brother, Mo Qi.
As soon as he answered, Mo Qi got straight to the point. “Godwin Reinis has been officially declared missing, in the nightclub in the red light district. Tell Liang Qiuchi to evacuate everyone as soon as possible.”
Mo Xin looked at Liang Qiuchi beside him, who nodded at him, indicating that he didn’t need to worry.
“The federal action this time is quick, I don’t know if they’ve found anything,” Mo Qi reminded him, “Just be careful in the coming days, if there’s nothing urgent, tell him not to show up again.”
Mo Xin said, “Godwin instructed his people that if he didn’t return last night, something had happened.”
“Oh, I see,” Mo Qi asked again, “Was it cleaned up properly?”
“Yes.” Mo Xin’s response was concise, and Mo Qi didn’t inquire further.
“Oh, by the way,” before hanging up the phone, Mo Qi suddenly stopped Mo Xin again, coughed twice, then said, “Don’t wander around too much recently, keep a low profile when you go out, it’s all over the place now.”
Mo Xin didn’t react immediately, “What’s all over the place?”
Mo Qi lowered his voice, “It’s being said everywhere now that you went to the red-light district last night and picked up a male college student for some fun.”
Mo Xin instinctively glanced at Liang Qiuchi on the sofa.
The “male college student” sat on the sofa, his face as calm as a lake, without any ripples.
“Anyway, both of you should behave yourselves and don’t give anyone a handle,” Mo Qi instructed before hanging up the phone.
The next moment the call disconnected, Liang Qiuchi burst into laughter.
Mo Xin’s ears turned red. He kicked him and said, “Stop laughing.”
Liang Qiuchi laughed heartily and lay back on the sofa, “I guessed right after all,” he looked at Mo Xin, whose face was gradually tinted with a light blush, finding him even more adorable, “General Mo, you’d better not go out anymore. With such thin skin, what are you going to do?”
Mo Xin threw his phone into Liang Quichi’s lap, retorting with a cold face, “Take me to that tattoo place in Lugo someday. Let’s see if you can still laugh like that after meeting that tattoo artist.”
Liang Qiuchi pulled him into his arms, cupping Mo Xin’s face with both hands, planting kisses on his eyes, corners of his mouth, and eyebrows one after another.
“Sure, and I’ll have you help me clarify the rumors,” Liang Qiuchi looked at him with a smile, “Tell that tattoo artist that when I got my tattoo, the person I had in mind was you.”
