Liang Qiuchi sat in the rocking chair behind the French window, enveloped by the warmth of the winter sun, looking very comfortable.
But upon closer inspection, a thin layer of sweat had formed on his forehead.
He frowned tightly, deeply trapped in a nightmare from which he couldn’t wake up.
In the dream, amidst the gunfire, he dragged a body through the trenches, covered in blood. But his arms were sore, and when he looked down, he found bullet holes all over!
Before he could gather his senses, after a dizzy spell, he found himself lying in the damp, hot rainforest, covered in wounds.
The dense jungle blocked out the sky, and amidst the interplay of light and shadow, he saw a figure pushing through the thorns towards him, urgently calling out to him as “Qiuchi ge.”
His body was in great pain, his eyelids heavy as lead, yet he saw the other person’s handsome features very clearly.
The other person’s originally fair face was now covered in black-green camouflage, brows furrowed tightly, eyes glistening with tears, on the verge of crying.
“Don’t cry, it’s okay,” Liang Qiuchi heard himself say.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he said this, tears streamed down the other person’s eyes like beads on a broken string, unable to stop.
Liang Qiuchi reached out to touch his face, but suddenly felt a pang in his heart. A bullet pierced through the trees, and the person collapsed weakly into his arms.
“Mo Xin!”
Liang Qiuchi suddenly sat up, staring blankly at the blurry light in front of him for a long time before slowly coming back to his senses from the shock and grief.
Was that just a dream, or were lost memories swirling back?
He couldn’t tell for a moment.
The radio on the small table beside him suddenly made a sharp noise, drawing his attention back. Then a serious male voice came from the speaker.
“Following superior orders, we interrupt the broadcast for an urgent announcement. The federal A-list fugitive, Liang Qiuchi, male, 29 years old, escaped while being transported to military court on December 1st. We are seeking information from the public. If you have any information, please contact…”
Liang Qiuchi initially thought he had misheard.
But the wanted order was repeated three times, matching his gender and age, plus calculating the time of his mishap, Liang Qiuchi confirmed that he was the person the Federation was vigorously pursuing.
He calmly turned off the radio, which had returned to entertainment programming, lay back in the chair, closed his eyes again, and his brain quickly recalled Mo Xin’s actions and words over the past few days.
Mo Xin must have saved him, and obviously Mo Xin was aware of his identity. So, what was Mo Xin’s background?
He was rescued from the convoy and lived safely in this house for so many days, without anyone coming to question him. How did Mo Xin manage that?
And why was he considered a federal A-list criminal?
…
His head hurt.
Liang Qiuchi recalled the dream he had just had again. Many details became blurry, but the moment when Mo Xin was shot and collapsed in his arms was extremely vivid, still making his heart palpitate.
“Qiuchi ge? Qiuchi ge? Qiuchi ge, wake up!”
The anxious calls overlapped with the dream, and Liang Qiuchi opened his eyes to see a pair of eyes as clear and bright as in the dream.
“What’s wrong?” In the strong sunlight, Liang Qiuchi saw the urgency on Mo Xin’s face.
Mo Xin, still catching his breath, rushed back after learning from Reinis that the Federation was once again issuing a warrant for Liang Qiuchi’s arrest.
On the way, he heard the warrant through the car radio and immediately stepped on the gas pedal.
It wasn’t that he was worried that someone would come knocking on the door in a short time; he was just afraid that Liang Qiuchi would hear something.
“You…” Mo Xin glanced at the radio on the table and tentatively asked, “Didn’t you hear the broadcast?”
“I just wanted to take a nap, so I turned it off.” Liang Qiuchi said casually, feeling even more convinced of his previous inference.
Mo Xin, seeing that his expression was normal, breathed a sigh of relief.
Liang Qiuchi deliberately said, “Are you done with your business? How about accompanying me for a walk in the afternoon? It’s boring to stay at home all day.
Mo Xin fell silent for a moment and indeed refused as Liang Qiuchi had anticipated.
“After I finish up some things in a few days, we’ll go out and relax. You’ve always wanted to go on a sailing trip. We’ll buy a small yacht and go wherever you want,” Mo Xin said.
“What about the company?” Liang Qiuchi asked.
“Compared to you, those things are trivial,” Mo Xin said.
Regardless of whether what Mo Xin said before was true or false, Liang Qiuchi believed he was sincere in this statement. Therefore, he couldn’t help but worry that Mo Xin would take risks for him again and get involved.
Liang Qiuchi sat up a bit straighter, earnestly looking at the slightly blurry face in front of him. “Actually, you don’t have to do so much for me. I can’t remember many things now…”
“Don’t say that,” Mo Xin cut him off abruptly, his tone harsh. “I don’t like hearing those words. I’ve told you many times, I don’t need you to remember the past. I just want you to remember me now, that’s enough.”
Liang Qiuchi felt like Mo Xin was angry, unsure of how to react for a moment.
Mo Xin also realized that his reaction was a bit too much, but he couldn’t control it.
Liang Qiuchi used to be like this before, always pushing him away. Even now, after losing his memory, he still had the same attitude. Why couldn’t Liang Qiuchi just accept his kindness?
Did Liang Qiuchi have some kind of fear of love?
Or was his affection so difficult to accept?!
“I’ll go change clothes,” Mo Xin said, intending to turn and go upstairs, but his wrist was grabbed.
Liang Qiuchi exerted a little force and pulled him back in front of him.
He guiltily patted his hand and said, “Don’t be angry. I won’t say those things anymore in the future.”
Mo Xin looked down at their intertwined hands and said gloomily, “I’m not angry.”
“Really?” Liang Qiuchi raised his hand and touched Mo Xin’s lips, deliberately poking them twice. “Let me see whose mouth is so stubborn and won’t admit it.”
He intended to make him smile, but he didn’t realize that this action would stir up the flames of desire in Mo Xin’s heart.
Mo Xin had been thinking about Liang Qiuchi for eight whole years, enduring for eight years. Now that the person was right in front of him, what was the point of enduring any longer?
They were both adults, to hell with taking it slow.
Mo Xin bit his lip, made up his mind, and suddenly held Liang Qiuchi’s face with both hands, then kissed him forcefully.
It was more like a collision than a kiss.
Both of them winced in pain.
Liang Qiuchi tried to tilt his head to avoid it for a moment, but Mo Xin bit his lip fiercely, and soon his tongue brought a hint of bloody bitterness.
“Mo Xin…”
Liang Qiuchi grabbed his shoulders, forcibly pushing him away a bit, but then he was pushed heavily onto the recliner, and Mo Xin straddled his waist.
“Don’t talk,” Mo Xin’s face was red, his eyes burning with blatant desire, and his voice was very hoarse because of it. “I want you to fuck me, right now.”
The commanding tone made Liang Qiuchi momentarily stunned.
And Mo Xin threw his coat on the ground, then reached back to untie Liang Qiuchi’s robe.
Seeing that Liang Qiuchi was not actively cooperating, Mo Xin’s blood surged again, deliberately provoking him, “Have you hurt your lower body too? If you can’t, just say it. I’ll find someone else. Vincent happens to be outside, I…”
Liang Qiuchi suddenly laughed.
Mo Xin felt embarrassed and annoyed again. “What are you laughing at!”
With one hand holding his waist to prevent him from falling off, Liang Qiuchi said, “I’m laughing that after so many days, I just discovered that you actually have a kittenish temper.”
When he was angry, he was sharp and cute.
“You…” Mo Xin was about to speak, his neck was suddenly held by a large hand, and his lips were immediately kissed by a pair of warm lips. Between the grinding of lips and teeth, the unfinished words were completely sealed away.
