A Military Marriage in the 1970s the Supporting Actress is Charming and Seductive Chapter 22

Chapter 22: We Will Not Separate

Song Shengsheng turned her head, pretending not to see him.

Fu Cheng pursed his thin lips, walked forward as if nothing had happened. He looked at her swollen eyelids, paused, and said, “Didn’t you ask me for high school textbooks last time? I brought them back for you.”

Song Shengsheng lowered her head, refusing to look at him. “Oh.”

She wasn’t easy to coax when she was angry. She was stubborn and wouldn’t say another word after that one.

And Fu Cheng wasn’t really trying to coax her.

He seemed the same as usual.

Song Shengsheng had been running around outside all day and was exhausted. Her whole body was sweating. She didn’t look at Fu Cheng again and turned to the small bathroom in the back.

She washed up with the hot water from the thermos.

After showering, she was even more tired. She got into bed and wanted to sleep.

Fu Cheng didn’t find an opportunity to speak for a while. He took the dirty clothes out of the basket. He was a neat freak.

He loved cleanliness.

The man casually washed the dirty clothes and hung them out to dry in the yard.

Then Fu Cheng went to the canteen in the compound and got some meat and vegetables. When he came back, it was already late.

He didn’t hesitate.

Fu Cheng went into the bedroom and pulled her out of bed. She was sleeping soundly, her eyes still closed, when the man lowered his head and kissed her twice.

“Wake up, it’s time to eat.”

Song Shengsheng had planned to ignore him for two days, but being woken up with kisses, she looked at Fu Cheng’s face and gradually woke up from her dream.

She didn’t know if it was because she and Fu Cheng were having a cold war.

The book she had dreamed of, the plot was gradually becoming clearer.

Zhao Xiaoning, dressed in bright clothes, was already a successful foreign trade businesswoman. She was wearing designer clothes, driving a luxury car, and came to the hospital to visit her.

“Cousin, I have to thank you for taking me in back then. Otherwise, how would I have had so many opportunities these years?”

“My brother-in-law is now in a high position. You shouldn’t go looking for him. You’ll just cause trouble for him.”

On the color TV.

After years and years, even though he had weathered the storms, the man was still handsome, his temperament even better than before. His dark, cold eyes stared coldly at the camera. He held a high position, imposing without anger.

The camera was very discreet in its focus on him.

No one dared to say anything around him. Even though they were extremely curious about his only previous marriage, they all kept their mouths shut.

Song Shengsheng looked at the chillingly cold eyes in her dream and felt a chill run through her.

She felt this chill inexplicably, and then Fu Cheng kissed her awake.

The dream was so real that she couldn’t tell what was real and what was not. She didn’t have the strength to push him away, nor did she have the energy to continue to fight with him.

It was as if she had suddenly woken up from their marital awkwardness. She wasn’t in a position to be willful.

Because from the snippets of the book she had dreamed about, she had not only committed suicide, but she had also lived a particularly miserable life before her suicide!

Thinking about it, if she hadn’t been desperate, if her life hadn’t been so miserable that she couldn’t live anymore, she wouldn’t have chosen such a painful death as suicide.

Song Shengsheng lay listlessly in his arms. She suddenly grabbed Fu Cheng’s sleeve, raised her soft face, and said to him, “In the future, even if we’re not together, you can’t, you can’t be bad to me.”

It was a domineering statement, and it wasn’t very reasonable.

Why should he be good to her if they were strangers in the future?

Song Shengsheng then mumbled, “We were married. We have some kind of connection. You can’t just leave me to die.”

Fu Cheng listened to her strange words and didn’t take them seriously. “We won’t be separated.”

He and she were a married couple recognized by the organization.

Song Shengsheng let it go in one ear and out the other. She didn’t take his words seriously.

Fu Cheng saw that she seemed to have calmed down, so he took out the small leather shoes he had bought at the state-owned department store in the afternoon. “Try them on. See if they fit.”

Song Shengsheng looked down and was pleasantly surprised.

Wasn’t this the pair of small leather shoes she had liked last time?

The goods at the state-owned department store weren’t that complete. When they got some good stuff, they had to fight for it.

Last time, she didn’t buy a size that fit.

She stretched out her foot and tried on the shoes. They fit surprisingly well. With the blue cotton skirt she was wearing, they gave her a touch of naive student charm.

Fu Cheng’s eyes darkened as he looked at her, his teeth itching.

He felt that Song Shengsheng was attractive no matter what.

Her words were attractive, her coquettishness was attractive, her tears were attractive, even her anger was attractive.

Fu Cheng had been restraining himself most of the time. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to get out of bed the next day. Yet he had already restrained himself a great deal, and she was still always complaining that he was reckless.

Song Shengsheng was still blissfully unaware.

She said he was fierce to her and that he didn’t like her.

Fu Cheng never felt that he was fierce. As for whether he liked her or not, he himself didn’t know.

Liking her wasn’t important to him.

He thought Song Shengsheng was stupid, naive, easy to deceive, and bad.

He shouldn’t like someone like that.

But life didn’t necessarily have to be with someone you liked.

It was good like this now.

Besides, as long as Song Shengsheng liked him, that was enough.

She had been acting towards him like she had when they first met, enthusiastic, shy, soft, and charming. It was as if she couldn’t live without him and would never leave him.

Maybe she had found her feelings for him again.

Song Shengsheng didn’t know that Fu Cheng had thought so much in such a short time.

She was just happily saying, “The soles are so soft, they’re very comfortable.”

“Yeah.”

Fu Cheng saw her smile, a faint smile flashed across his lips.

He hugged her and kissed her twice. “Don’t be angry anymore, okay?”

Song Shengsheng stiffened. Under the excessive, authority of the novel’s plot, she decided to temporarily stop being angry and cold to Fu Cheng.

After all, he was the male lead.

She stiffly nodded, pretending to be stubborn. “I wasn’t angry in the first place.”

After a while, she deliberately put on a look of great grievance. “You, you can’t talk to me like that anymore. I’m really devoted to you now.”

“Husband, I don’t want anyone but you.”

The little liar’s words came out of her mouth easily.

Fu Cheng stared into her eyes. “Shengsheng, remember what you said.”

He took it seriously.

He wouldn’t give her a chance to go back on her word.

Song Shengsheng nodded. “I’m not lying to you.”

She was a little gloomy. “If you still think I’m going to flirt with other people in the future, I really won’t talk to you anymore. It’s too heartbreaking.”

Fu Cheng held her face in his hands. Seeing her grievance, he felt uncomfortable too.

He said, “It’s my fault.”

Their brief awkwardness was barely resolved.

Song Shengsheng remembered the high school textbooks he had brought for her. She asked cautiously, “You brought the books here. Did your family ask you about them?”

These days, what books you read, what books you bought, what books you had at home.

It was all possible to be reported.

Fu Cheng touched her head. “You don’t have to worry about that. Use them freely.”

The textbooks he brought for her were carefully selected.

There was absolutely no way they could be a problem.

He wouldn’t let Song Shengsheng get involved in criticism and struggle.

Choosing to come to Ningcheng back then was also a way to protect himself.

Fu Cheng was always meticulous in his actions. He had also cleaned up the mess with Song Shengsheng’s uncle.

If he hadn’t been decisive and smart, he wouldn’t have been able to stay safe these past few years, let alone be the youngest regiment commander in the army.

“Okay, okay, okay! I was thinking that if I could go to college in the future, I wouldn’t be unprepared.”

Fu Cheng didn’t take her words seriously.

She had no patience. When her enthusiasm came, it left quickly.

He brought her the books, not expecting her to go to college in the future, but just to give Song Shengsheng something to pass the time.
