A new “mission”: attend a pro‑esports wedding

Three days before an old League veteran’s ceremony, Qin Shi knocks on 149’s door:

“Everyone in the team already thinks I have a girlfriend.

“If I show up single again, those clingy admirers will raise chaos all over—could you come with me?”

Li Huan‑huan hesitates (public event, many esports eyes, she’s just a “fake” girlfriend) but finally agrees—Qin did rescue her with Mum, after all.

Make‑over day with bestie Xiao Jing

• Xiao Jing drags the self‑declared through boutiques:
  • rejects six dresses (“too bland”, “too cold”, “too deliberate” …)
  • settles on an elegant champagne‑pink midi, silk drape, low back.
  • books hair & make‑up, finds matching heels + clutch.
• Huan‑huan winces at the bill; Xiao Jing: “You have to risk the child to snare the wolf!”

On the way out she spots Zhang Canyang (Fox) arm‑in‑arm with the same glamorous woman from the arcade. Xiao Jing whispers she’d seen the boy at a hotel dinner, “looked like someone was shopping him for resources”… Huan‑huan isn’t sure what to think.

A late‑night gift

Back home, Qin Shi waits in the hallway with Husky Barbecue.
He hands her a slim box:

“You’re already covering the dress; jewellery shouldn’t be your problem.”

Inside—an intense green jade pendant on delicate rose‑gold.
Huan‑huan protests; Qin insists it’s only a loan for the day.

She snaps a photo to show Xiao Jing.
Reply comes instantly: “Girl, that’s at least mid‑seven to eight figures! DON’T DROP IT!”

Huan‑huan’s hands shake. End of chapter.
