Chapter 11
Shi Yu was drinking water, and after a few sips, he suddenly noticed how quiet it was around him. He turned his head and saw Han Chuyi staring at him with a shocked and strange expression.
Shi Yu: ???
“What’s wrong?”
His voice was still a bit hoarse from earlier, so he had to speak very softly. You could only hear him if you were very close.
Han Chuyi instinctively leaned in, his ears turning red. A moment later, he realized what he was doing and quickly backed away while touching his ear.
“Oh, nothing.”
“Are you feeling better now?”
Han Chuyi looked at Shi Yu strangely. He didn’t expect this guy to look so… pure.
Yes—pure.
It was the first time Han Chuyi ever used that word to describe another guy.
But Shi Yu’s appearance was really special. He clearly looked like a guy—with sharp features and a defined face—but still gave off a very clean and pure feeling.
Ridiculously pure.
His long black eyelashes, high nose bridge, and slightly red lips all added to that fresh and clean look—like breathing in a cool breeze on a hot summer day. It was hard to dislike him.
Back when he first saw Shi Yu’s eyes—eyes that stirred something in his heart—Han Chuyi had already guessed that he might be good-looking.
But since Shi Yu’s photo was something Shen Yan made him look up (and he even lost points because of it), he forced himself to stay curious and told himself: He’s probably just average. If he were really that good-looking, I’d remember it.
Now, after looking at him for a while, when Shi Yu looked up and put the cap back on the water bottle, Han Chuyi suddenly said in a weird tone,
“Why do you look so bad in photos?”
“Huh?”
Shi Yu looked confused. He was still a bit dazed from the car ride. Hearing something so strange, he tilted his head.
“Nothing. Just… you look better in person than in the photo.” Han Chuyi mumbled. Even if he wanted to be stubborn, he couldn’t bring himself to say Shi Yu looked bad. His expression just got even weirder.
Shi Yu glanced at him, not really getting what he meant, so he politely replied, “Oh, thanks.”
He didn’t think his face was anything special. After a short pause, he put his mask back on and returned to his usual distant self.
“Okay, I’m going home now.”
“Bye.”
Huh? Home?
Oh right—he brought Shi Yu home. It made sense he was leaving.
But Han Chuyi couldn’t help but watch him go. “Wait—aren’t you going to the hospital?”
He blurted it out before thinking.
Shi Yu: …?
Is this guy crazy?
“It was just car sickness. I drank some water and I’m fine. Why would I go to the hospital?”
Shi Yu looked at him like he was nuts, which immediately snapped Han Chuyi back to his senses.
Han Chuyi: Damn it!
It was just car sickness, not a big deal. Why did he even ask?
It’s not like Shi Yu is Sang-ge.
Frustrated, Han Chuyi clicked his tongue and didn’t look back as Shi Yu waved and walked away.
Shi Yu didn’t understand why this guy kept changing his mood, but just as he reached his building’s entrance, he suddenly remembered something and stopped.
Han Chuyi had just taken a deep breath and was about to leave when he saw Shi Yu suddenly walking back to the car.
Shi Yu walked over and knocked on the window.
Han Chuyi: What now?
He frowned but still rolled down the window.
Then Shi Yu, now wearing a mask, asked softly:
“Oh right, I forgot to ask—how much was that bottle of water? I’ll transfer the money to you.”
He remembered Han Chuyi was a rich kid. That water probably wasn’t cheap, so he should pay for it.
Han Chuyi was surprised. It was the first time someone had come back just to pay for a bottle of water.
“No need.”
“Just think of it as a gift.”
It’s not like he couldn’t afford a bottle of water.
Han Chuyi was a bit amused. When Shi Yu stood up, he suddenly rolled up the window and looked at him with a complicated expression, then drove off.
Shi Yu: …?
Okay, sure, you gave me the water—but what’s with the attitude? I didn’t say anything weird. Is this guy crazy again?
Thinking about how moody Han Chuyi always was, Shi Yu figured he must be acting up again. Whatever—it wasn’t his problem. The people from the Ability Users Association… he frowned slightly. He probably wouldn’t have to deal with them again anyway.
With that, he turned and went upstairs.
The house hadn’t changed at all since he left last night. Shi Yu set the water bottle down, cleaned up a bit, then relaxed on the sofa.
It really was more comfortable at home. At the Ability Users Association, he always felt tense and never really rested well.
Even though nothing bad happened, Shi Yu still felt uneasy. It was like someone was always watching him—just a quick feeling, but enough to make him uncomfortable.
Thankfully, now he was home.
He let out a breath, lay on the couch, scrolled on his phone for a bit, told his fans he was okay, and then fell asleep without realizing it.
After a long day, his mind and body were exhausted. He quickly drifted into deep sleep, not even noticing when his phone slipped to the side.
In the dark living room, the curtains were drawn, and only the night breeze came through. It made his eyebrows twitch slightly.
Half-asleep, Shi Yu dreamed that he forgot to close the window, but he was too tired to move. He just kept sleeping and thought, “I’ll close it tomorrow morning.”
Hopefully, sleeping on the sofa won’t make him catch a cold.
But after a while, the window—left open—suddenly creaked and closed slowly, like an invisible hand had shut it, quietly taking care of the house.
Shi Yu, still asleep, had been feeling a little cold. But after a moment, it seemed to warm up, and he suddenly felt more comfortable.
Meanwhile, after driving away, Han Chuyi was planning to go back to the Ability Users Association. But he got distracted and somehow drove all the way home.
After parking, he casually glanced at his phone and saw seven or eight new messages. He smirked.
Hah. Now they care.
Where were they earlier?
He didn’t bother replying to Wang Shan and just put his phone away, not realizing that Wang Shan was panicking.
Wang Shan had finished his work and went to find Mr. Shi, but he was gone. After asking around, he found out that Han Chuyi had taken him. Worried, he quickly sent a bunch of messages.
“Where did you take Mr. Shi?”
“Why didn’t you tell anyone?”
Wang Shan was scared that Han Chuyi, being unpredictable, might have clashed with Mr. Shi, who was just an ordinary person. That would be a disaster.
If the rich young master bullied a regular person, not only would he lose his internship points, but Wang Shan would also be in trouble.
The messages kept coming like crazy. Han Chuyi was annoyed. Seeing that Wang Shan was about to go report to Shen Yan, he finally replied:
“Relax. He’s not dead. I sent him home.”
“Oh good, good.”
Wang Shan breathed a sigh of relief. Then he suddenly realized…
Wait, sent him home?
Did he hear that right?
He replayed the message in his head. No, he didn’t hear wrong. Han Chuyi really said he sent him home.
So… he took him just to give him a ride?
Since when was this young master so helpful?
Wang Shan looked puzzled.
On the other end, Han Chuyi awkwardly cleared his throat.
“It’s not a big deal. Just happened to be on the way.”
“Oh, and…” he added, “Don’t tell Sang-ge about this.”
Even Han Chuyi didn’t know why he said that, like he was trying to hide something. Just thinking about how he had stared at Shi Yu’s pure face under that mask made him feel weird.
Back at the Ability Users Association, Wang Shan was full of questions, but he didn’t dare ask. He just watched as the young master hung up.
Shi Yu slept until morning. The sunlight was already shining through the windows when he woke up.
Hmm…
What time is it?
He blinked slowly and reached for his phone. Only then did he realize—he had fallen asleep on the couch last night.
He must have been too tired to notice. But strangely enough, even after sleeping on the couch all night, he didn’t catch a cold? He vaguely remembered that he had forgotten to close the window when he got home.
As he rubbed his sore shoulders, Shi Yu got up and walked toward the window to close it. But as he pulled back the curtains, a few question marks popped up in his mind.
Huh? Why is the window already closed?
The window panels were shut tightly, not a breeze coming in. With the sun shining through, the room felt warm and cozy.
Shi Yu stared at it for a long time, confused. He was sure he hadn’t closed it. Did he remember it wrong?
He kept staring at the window as if it would give him an answer, but in the end, he just gave up and lowered his hand. Maybe it was just an accident, he thought. Maybe I closed it earlier and forgot.
After all, it wouldn’t be the first time he forgot something.
He brushed the odd thought aside and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. But when he came back, he noticed something strange…
The water glass that was empty before was now mysteriously full, gently wobbling on the coffee table.
The rim of the glass hovered a few centimeters above the table, trembling like it was barely being held up. It looked like it could fall at any moment. Whatever was holding it seemed to struggle to keep it balanced—then awkwardly and quietly pulled away, like nothing had happened.
As if Shi Yu couldn’t see any of it.
Shi Yu: …
Okay. Case closed. He hadn’t imagined the window closing last night.
Suspiciously, he stared at the empty air across from him, wondering:
Did… some little invisible ghost just move into my house and start doing chores?
