The medicine is ready, so let’s call Persio and return to Lints.
“Persio~!”
They said he’d come if called, but I wonder if he’ll show up right away.
Moving to a slightly open area, I call for Persio.
Looking up, I can see a white Pegasus flying from beyond the blue sky.
Wow. So cool!
Persio, with his four white wings spread wide, descends like a creature from a mythological world.
Actually, back in my original world, he’d be considered a legendary creature. Hehe.
“Hihin~”
Persio neighs happily.
“I want to go back to Lints. Please?”
“Hihin.”
With Zeke-san’s help, we attach the harness for the carriage to Persio. It’s easy since Persio is smart and cooperative.
Ready to get on the carriage… but wait, Zeke and the others dismembered a basilisk, so wouldn’t their gear be covered in blood?
I’m not dirty at all, so I’m fine, but…
Then I remembered there’s a universal spell for cleaning.
“Clean.”
The life spell “Clean” is amazing, even children can use it to remove dirt.
I wanted to try it too, but according to Ermine, unfortunately, I can’t use magic.
What?!
“I came to this fantasy world, and I can’t use magic?! That’s just not fair!”
I yelled from inside the carriage, and Zeke asked me with a serious expression.
“What do you mean by ‘coming to a fantasy world’?”
Oh, um… should I tell him?
I mean, Ermine didn’t forbid me from saying it, and it’s not like it’s a big deal anymore!
So, I told Zeke and the others how I slipped, thought I died, and ended up in this world.
“A witch who crossed worlds…”
“Have you heard of that?”
Zeke, deep in thought, shook his head.
“The witch who made Mei’s alchemy cauldron must’ve had unimaginable power… But I’ve never heard of her. And certainly not of anyone like that living in the Misty Forest. Anyone?”
Both Alex and Cloud shook their heads at Zeke question.
“Ermine, do you know what kind of person this witch who crossed worlds was?”
Ermine, who had been gazing out the window, tilted his head at Zeke question.
“It was before I was born, so I don’t really know. Koko seems to know, but she doesn’t talk much about the witch. Apparently, when she was young, she challenged the witch and got thoroughly beaten.”
“Koko did!?”
Even strong monsters that Koko could defeat easily… beaten?
Could it be that the witch who crossed worlds was a massive, muscular giantess?
Now that I think of it, wasn’t Laevateinn a sword held by a giantess? Maybe the witch who crossed worlds was a giantess too?
But wait a second.
Koko was a chick when she was young, right?
So, a battle between a chick and a giantess…
The giantess would definitely win, wouldn’t she? Back then, Koko probably wasn’t as ferocious… I mean, as strong as she is now.
“Yeah. I heard that Koko was a dragon back then, but she couldn’t win.”
“What?! A dragon?!”
I blurted out, and Zeke and the others looked at me in surprise.
“Yep, yep. And apparently, she had dark skin, too.”
“Huh? But she’s a white chicken now?”
“They say her dark powers were taken away, and that’s why she turned white. But her ferocity hasn’t changed. Haha.”
A dark dragon battling a giantess, huh.
That must have been some fight.
Zeke, seated in front of me, looked pale. He muttered, “Dark-skinned…” and fell silent.
I wonder what’s wrong. Maybe he’s getting carriage-sick?
Even though there’s no shaking, maybe flying in the sky scares him.
“Hey, Zeke, wasn’t she called the ‘Black Dragon of Doom’?”
“But didn’t a goddess defeat the Black Dragon of Doom? Wait, what?”
Cloud and Alex looked at Zeke.
Then Zeke turned his gaze outside the window.
“Listen, you two. Don’t think too deeply. Some things are better left unknown.”
“R-right.”
“Yeah…”
The three of them looked pale; I hope they’ll be okay.
We’re almost at Lints, so hang in there.
Once we’re back, we’ll hurry to heal the rabbit-eared uncle—
Hmm.
Something feels off.
Like I’m forgetting something important.
Hmm?
“Oh!”
I shouted, and Zeke and the others looked startled.
“What is it? Is something wrong!?”
“I completely forgot about Robo!”
Come to think of it, Robo’s not here!
Last I remember, Alex was carrying him when we sold the potions.
“Oh, that dog? We left him behind because it was too dangerous to bring him for the basilisk hunt.”
“Phew, that’s a relief.”
I was so busy that I completely forgot.
Sorry, Robo.
I’ll make lots of tasty treats to make it up to you!
