A Second Chance: Married to the Regent Prince Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Catching the Cheater

Tang Chuyao kicked open the door, and a strong scent of sandalwood immediately wafted out from the room, where two entwined bodies were tangled on the bed.

Before Tang Chuyao could get a clear look, a delicate hand covered her view, and Su Xiaowan’s voice came softly, “Miss, leave this dirty business to me.”

After saying that, she had Dujian take Tang Chuyao out of the room. Su Xiaowan looked at the two on the bed and couldn’t help but admire the young lady’s boldness; even in such a situation, these two were still lost in their world, completely oblivious!

The maids in Tang Chuying’s courtyard were all in shock. What should they do? They hesitated to enter, knowing how strict Tang Chuying was with them. Now that the situation was exposed, they would certainly bear the brunt of her anger!

Su Xiaowan turned around to face the trembling maids and shouted, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and bring a basin of cold water!”

The young maids snapped back to their senses and hurriedly went to fetch water.

With a splash, a basin of cold water drenched the two on the bed, shocking them to their core.

Gu Huaifeng was soaked, his thin body shivering as he immediately wilted again, furious, and shouted, “Who the hell did this?!”

“Ah???” Before he could get an answer, Tang Chuying’s sharp scream pierced his ears, nearly deafening him!

In a fit of rage, he slapped Tang Chuying across the face, “Shut up!”

Tang Chuying, unable to care about the burning pain on her cheek, quickly covered herself with the quilt.

There were not only maids in the room but also young servants. The thought of her body being seen by lowly servants made Tang Chuying furious.

She yelled at Su Xiaowan, “You shameless woman, who allowed you to come in?!”

Su Xiaowan didn’t indulge her and glanced at a nearby young maid, who stepped forward and slapped Tang Chuying twice across the face.

Gu Huaifeng regained his composure and realized that the person was indeed Su Xiaowan!

Wasn’t she the manager of Xiudream Pavilion?

She was the mistress of his uncle, Gu Qingchen, and it was because of this relationship that the Xuanying Marquis’s residence could consistently order clothes from Xiudream Pavilion!

“Aunt Su, why are you here?” Gu Huaifeng suppressed his displeasure and tugged at the quilt covering him.

“Isn’t this a coincidence? Miss Tang invited me to make clothes for the second young lady, and I didn’t expect to run into an acquaintance on the second young lady’s bed!”

Su Xiaowan said calmly, with a faint smile on her face.

This slender figure, did the young lady like it?

His own master was the true beauty; what could this slender figure compare to her?

“Aunt Su, can we keep this matter from my uncle…” Gu Huaifeng’s voice lacked confidence.

“Of course! Why should the prince know about such things?” Su Xiaowan said nonchalantly.

Gu Huaifeng felt a little relieved after hearing that, but then he heard Su Xiaowan continue, “However, shouldn’t Young Master Gu be concerned about Miss Tang’s reputation?”

“Your own sister sleeping with your fiancĂ©, shouldn’t Young Master Gu give Miss Tang an explanation?”

Gu Huaifeng was somewhat taken aback but quickly nodded in agreement, “What Aunt Su says makes sense. Please allow me to get dressed first.”

Su Xiaowan remained unmoved. Gu Huaifeng felt like crying; surely she didn’t want to watch him get dressed?

They said his uncle liked older women, and Su Xiaowan was nearly ten years older than him. Was it not enough that she was involved with his uncle, but now she wanted to see him get dressed too?

This was too excessive!

Before Gu Huaifeng could say anything, Su Xiaowan expressionlessly turned and exited the room…

When Gu Huaifeng came out dressed, he found a group of people standing in the courtyard, led by his uncle Gu Qingchen, along with Tang Youze and Mei Xiao’e

Gu Huaifeng felt weak in the knees and collapsed to the ground!

Why was his uncle here? Didn’t Su Xiaowan say she wouldn’t tell his uncle? He turned to look at Su Xiaowan, who shrugged her shoulders in response.

He gritted his teeth in anger!

Tang Youze was fiddling with his blue porcelain vase in the study, deeply focused when suddenly a young servant rushed in to announce a major event!

When he hurriedly took Mei Xiao’e to Ziying Pavilion, he found Gu Qingchen already in the courtyard!

The regent was actually present in his humble residence; he was both shocked and scared!

Rumors spread in the capital about this man being unpredictable and ruthless, and he nervously paid his respects, not daring to speak.

Mei Xiao’e thought for a moment; since the matter had already been discovered, she might as well cling to Gu Huaifeng and have him marry Tang Chuying as well!

So she began to wail, “I only have this one daughter; what should I do now?”

In the quiet courtyard, only Mei Xiao’e’s loud cries were heard. Tang Youze glanced at Gu Qingchen and, seeing he had no reaction, did not stop Mei Xiao’e’s poor performance.

At that moment, Tang Chuying, dressed and ready, walked out and froze upon seeing the man at the forefront!

He stood tall like a pine tree, his demeanor as cold as the moon. Dressed in a dark purple brocade robe, the luxurious fabric was embroidered with exquisite dark patterns. The collar and cuffs were trimmed with silver borders, and a jade belt cinched his waist, adorned with a translucent jade pendant, adding to his nobility.

His face was so handsome it was almost demonic, with brows like ink paintings and narrow, deep-set phoenix eyes that were icy and forbidding, making it hard to gaze upon him. His high nose and thin lips hinted at an unnoticeable sternness. His long black hair was tied up with a jade hairpin, exuding an innate authority and nobility that made people both fearful and irresistibly drawn to him.

Tang Chuying’s heart raced; the person before her was the regent Gu Qingchen!

This was the second time she had seen Gu Qingchen; the first time was three years ago when he was suppressing bandits in the capital.

On the streets, he rode a tall horse, his handsome face and extraordinary demeanor attracting countless women, including Tang Chuying herself, who was out for a stroll!

She knew well that there was a vast difference between her and Gu Qingchen; he was someone she could never reach!

When she learned that Gu Huaifeng was Gu Qingchen’s nephew, she felt a flicker of emotion!

Moreover, with Tang Chuyao being infatuated with Gu Huaifeng, she was about to sleep with the man Tang Chuyao liked!

But now, the lofty figure was right in front of her, and Gu Huaifeng, kneeling on the ground, looked like a jumping clown, making her feel somewhat nauseous!

“Presumptuous!” Night Wind shouted loudly, slapping Tang Chuying, sending her crashing to the ground.

Mei Xiao’e forgot her wailing and hurried over to help Tang Chuying up.

“How dare you not pay your respects upon seeing the regent? The Duke of Wenyong’s residence has no rules!” Night Wind said.

Tang Youze immediately reprimanded Tang Chuying, “Rebellious daughter, why aren’t you quickly paying your respects to the regent?”

Tang Chuying clutched her chest, her face showing pain as she walked forward gracefully, tears in her eyes, kneeling and saying, “Commoner Tang Chuying pays her respects to the regent!”

“Please forgive me, Your Highness! I was so surprised to see you that I forgot to pay my respects!”

Tang Chuyao looked thoughtfully at Tang Chuying. Could it be that the person Tang Chuying had always liked in her previous life was Gu Qingchen?
