Chapter 251
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
The cobra tamer guy and the beautiful woman were thrown into the dungeon which was made from stone. They were bound in handcuffs and chains as the soldiers were interrogating them. As I was observing the interrogation process, it seemed the other people had heard about the commotion too. Bavarian-sama, Heinrich and even the king himself had arrived not long after me.
The soldiers were interrogating them in a threatening manner. The Indian assassin remained silent. However, the woman looked visibly flustered. She was desperately trying to explain herself, although she refused to admit to the accusations.
Frustrated by their lack of cooperation, the soldiers began to threaten the cobra tamer guy with his own poisoned pasta and the assassin woman with her deadly knife, causing both of them to turn pale.
Then right when the soldiers were threatening them with their own weapon, the mafia looking baron entered the dungeon.
“Rose!”
He shouted, looking clearly panicked. He then began protesting vehemently to Bavarian-sama.
Just like that, the mafia looking baron stormed into the cell, snatched the key for the convict’s handcuffs from the soldiers and ran toward the beautiful assassin woman.
“Rose!”
The baron released the woman from the handcuff and just when I wondered if they were going to share a smoldering hot embrace, suddenly, the woman delivered a powerful punch right at the baron’s face, landing a critical hit.
“Rose… 〇××….”
Bewildered, the mafia looking baron stuttered. He was holding onto his reddened cheeks with tears rolling down his chubby cheeks. His fedora hat slipped off from the impact, exposing his shiny bald head. The intimidating mafia-like vibe he had displayed just a moment ago completely disappeared. His image was crushed, just like the cigar he once had on his hand.
“Umm… My apologies but can someone please explain to me what’s going on here exactly?”
I asked but none of them answered. The king, Bavarian-sama and Jill-san just shrugged their shoulders. They were both equally in the dark, just like me.
Well, of course. I don’t even understand how come the client of an assassination ends up getting punched by the assassin he hired.
However, after that…
“Errm… Can I say something?”
Gingerly, Heinrich raised his hand and began to explain the situation to us.
~*~
According to Heinrich’s explanation, the mafia looking baron’s name was Alpendre Von Tairant. In other words, this guy was the lord who governed Tairant, a city north of Resta that I had previously visited not too long ago.
So, this Baron Alpendre, he made a request to Heinrich. He wanted to have an Egil Recovery Potion.
Why? As everyone could see, he wanted to restore his balding head to its youthful lustrous era and charmed the subject of his affection with his new hair. And then, the subject of his affection was none but this beautiful woman, whom he called Rose. The woman who resembled Fujiko Mine from Lupin series.
However, the story took a sudden turn from here.
Baron Alpendre took Rose to an aristocratic party which the king would be attending in order to woo her.
Rose-san, being Rose-san, well, she was very interested in the world of high society, which was supposedly filled with wealthy and handsome men.
Baron Alpendre, who was worrying about Rose-san’s safety, he gave her his prized possession, the ‘Angel Fake Knife’.
However, upon seeing me ennobled, Rose-san fell in love at first sight with me and decided to change her target to me.
I really wanted to interject their story here but since apparently it was (more or less) true that Rose-san did fall in love with me at first sight, I decided to remain quiet. Still, it was a good thing that Yurina-san wasn’t here…
And as of now, Heinrich still hadn’t made Egil Recovery Potion for Baron Alpendre. Based on these two pieces of information, Baron Alpendre came to a conclusion.
“That Keigo Okuda, not only he’s trying to monopolize Egil Recovery Potion, and become a baron just like me, but he’s also trying to steal my beloved Rose! I will never forgive him!!!”
So to speak.
Baron Alpendre was enraged. He ordered that cobra tamer looking guy to poison my food but his plan was in vain. As for Rose… She had no intention of poisoning me with that knife. She was simply trying to seduce me. Nothing more, nothing less.
Such was the truth behind this incident.
In front of me, there was Baron Alpendre, who was crying profusely. Cobra tamer guy, who looked pale. And Rose, who was still trying to seduce me despite everything that had happened. Yes, indeed. She was still trying to flutter her eyelashes at me.
Faced with the prospect of revealing the truth to the public and potentially ruining the authority of the royal and noble class, everyone in the dungeon fell into deep silence.

T/N: I guess this is why Heinrich was giving Jill-san the cold shoulder. Heinrich knew he had a tight deadline to follow but Jill-san was getting in his way. But then his fiancée came.
