Chapter 255
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
I collapsed outside after inhaling a small amount of the toxic fumes from the mixture I had concocted. It took me a while but I somehow managed to regain my strength. I held my breath and re-entered the room after the poison fumes had dissipated.
I covered the pot with a damp cloth to prevent more liquid from evaporating and tried to appraise the ominous liquid that was emitting a sinister glow.
【Zodiac Poison : An extremely dangerous poison. Minimum requirement to resist this poison: Poison Resistance Level 15. A legendary poison that allegedly could kill a dragon.】
A legendary poison…. I knew it. I probably shouldn’t try licking this thing.
Ash, perhaps because of his keen nose, had sensed the danger. He was outside with Blue (a female), barking at me nonstop. As if Ash was trying to yell,”STAAAAAHP!!!”
I guess I need to put this plan on hold. I don’t think I can survive if I actually ingest the poison with my mouth.
I carefully put the Zodiac Poison in a big glass jar and sealed it tightly to make sure nothing would spill, not even the fumes since the fumes alone could cause a major disaster.

The next day, I left the shop in Chatra and the others and decided to go to the Commercial Guild to show the equipment I had made using materials from Kobold King and the Zodiac Poison to Volga-san.
I had been told that I had to bring any new products no matter what. And so, I fixed Rocinante (my horse) on a single-horse carriage and leisurely made my way through the bustling streets.
Ah… It’s so peaceful…. I really don’t want to become a noble…..
While I was getting lost in my thoughts, I finally arrived at the Commercial Guild. I left the carriage in the stable and entered the building.
“Ah, if it isn’t Margo and Sarasa!”
Upon entering the Commercial Guild, I saw Margo and Sarasa standing at the counter. It seemed they had come to purchase some goods or materials and so, I called out to them.
“Keigo~”
Sarasa waved her hand enthusiastically at me while Margo had a serious scowl on his face as he looked over at some order request.
I chatted with the two of them while waiting for our return and then, I decided to show them the written description of the new product I had created.
“I’ve made something interesting!”
I rubbed my nose while showing them the copy of the appraisal and then…
“××〇〇◆△!!!”
Suddenly, Sarasa yelled and grabbed the collar of my shirt with both of her hands and shook me back and forth. Margo’s eyes also widened incredibly wide and he began muttering slowly with bloodshot eyes.
“I have a bottle of the poison in my bag so it’s going to be dangerous if you keep shaking me, you know?”
Of course, I was just joking. The poison was made using high-grade materials and according to the appraisal result this item was a ‘legendary’ poison so the poison was safely secured in my house’s safebox.
The two of them quickly took a step back and covered their mouths with their clothes when I pointed at the bag and the poison description.
“Ah, no, I’m just kidding.”
However, the two of them were already too scared to know what was inside my bag, so much so that my words couldn’t reach them.
Ah… Feels like a déjà vu…
It seemed one of the staff members noticed the commotion and called for help because Volga-san, who had a very stiff expression on his face, came to see us along with Alan-san. We were then taken to a private room in the back of the guild without a word.

T/N: Ohhh! I just noticed in the previous chapter, there’s no mention of MC licking the poison yet!! So MC gained so many levels just from inhaling the fumes alone?! Σ(°ロ°)

Our MC inhaled the fumes up to his heels, high-fived St. Peter and returned to the living. 😀
