Chapter 273

Our house wasn’t finished yet on the day we arrived in Itoshino Yurina so we had to stay at Elsa’s inn for the time being.

Sarasa and Margo also came with us so for the first time in a long while, all six of us (Yurina-san, Juno, Elsa, Sarasa, Margo and I), decided to hold a party. We partied around a bonfire while gazing at the starry sky. (Of course we also brought Tanya and Ash with us.)

At the nearby river, there were monsters called Hemicentros Urchin, which looked like oversized horse dung sea urchins. (They still shoot out spikes, resulting in the demise of the poor nearby merman.)

Hemicentros Urchin had a rich, sweet umami flavor when eaten as sashimi. Its flavor reminded me of ezo bafun urchin (short-spined sea urchin), a variety of urchin that I often eat during business trips to Rishiri Island. (Ezo Bafun Urchin was famous for having a creamy taste. It was one of the best tasting sea urchins.)

And, what will happen to the people in this world, who have never eaten sea urchin, when they eat Hemicentros Urchin for the first time in their life? 

Of course, their reactions were easy to understand. All of them had a mesmerized look on their faces, like they were melting from the sheer deliciousness of the creamy urchin.

Looking up at the night sky, I watched streams of shooting stars flowing from the blue moon. 

“I’ve been so busy lately…” 

I had been so busy in my recent endeavors as the lord of this town and as a businessman. Thinking back, the way I was working now was similar to the time when I was still working as a corporate slave back in Japan.

I poured a particularly strong alcohol into a glass of ice and gulped it down, letting my exhaustion dissipate as I sighed. 

There was nothing more enjoyable and precious than spending a quiet night drinking with my close friends. Once again, I was reminded of what was important in my life. 

From now on, I have to avoid taking on any work unless I have to. I have to stop the hustle and just enjoy the moment. 

I shifted my attention to the bonfire in front of me. The flickering flames looked so beautiful with the starry night sky as the background.
