Chapter 14: No Signature
Marked Omegas are extremely sensitive. Qin Wen kept telling himself he shouldn’t, he mustn’t, but he just couldn’t control it.
Chi Han noticed it too. He lowered his gaze slightly and saw the watery look in Qin Wen’s eyes breaking through his defenses, a tear dropping onto the back of his hand. For some reason, this scene deeply stirred Chi Han. He was an Alpha with little patience or reaction towards Omegas, yet at this moment, the images that frequently invaded his dreams became clear. It was as if he had indeed possessed Qin Wen before, using such a cuddling posture.
“I’m fine…” Qin Wen desperately resisted his instincts.
But the minty scent gradually became decadent and intense.
Chi Han held Qin Wen’s head to prevent him from moving around. The marking wasn’t over yet, and the pheromones became domineering. An Omega couldn’t resist their own Alpha. Qin Wen’s consciousness was muddled, leaving only one thought: How embarrassing… Chi Han might despise him after the marking.
Half an hour later, it finally ended. Qin Wen was panting, and at the same time, his dull senses gained unprecedented clarity. The stronger the Alpha, the better the experience they could provide for an Omega, similar to a complementary process. Qin Wen’s always aching lower abdomen also settled down. A temporary marking was better than sporadically giving pheromones. The child received the father’s comfort and finally stopped tormenting Qin Wen.
Qin Wen kept his eyes tightly shut, then heard the person beside him hoarsely ask, “Do you want to go to the bathroom?”
But Chi Han’s hand, reaching out again, was lightly slapped away by Qin Wen.
“Why?” Qin Wen hadn’t completely recovered from the earlier excitement, his voice deeper than usual: “You said we were divorced…”
“To be precise, we are not divorced.” Chi Han interrupted.
Qin Wen slowly looked at him, “What did you say?”
“The divorce agreement only has your signature, not mine.” Chi Han casually dropped a bombshell: “Legally, it’s not valid.”
That day, leaving Star City Garden with the divorce agreement, Chi Han thought it was the end for them. He had to choose a suitable time to announce the news, but it seemed that time would never come because Chi Han didn’t want to sign.
This intense resistance felt like another self living inside him. So to this day, the divorce agreement only had Qin Wen’s name on it.
Qin Wen stared blankly at Chi Han, not even happy, overwhelmed by immense sadness.
It’s always like this. His life is never in his own hands. He kept convincing himself to give up, trying every way to resist the temptation brought by Chi Han’s pheromones. But after the temporary marking, this person told him the divorce agreement wasn’t valid, turning all of Qin Wen’s long-standing efforts into a huge grievance and hardship. Why do these people always like to toy with him?
Seeing Qin Wen’s sorrowful eyes, tears falling, Chi Han’s calm expression finally broke. He leaned closer to the young man, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?”
“I thought you weren’t interested in humiliating people.” Qin Wen took a deep breath, gritting his teeth, “I didn’t expect Mr. Chi to be well-versed in it.”
“I didn’t mean to humiliate you!” Chi Han retorted, “Who uses temporary marking as a bargaining chip to humiliate someone?”
Qin Wen struggled to sit up, closing the distance between him and Chi Han.
Qin Wen had always been compliant in front of Chi Han. It was the first time he showed a sense of oppression, though this oppression was insignificant to a top-level Alpha like Chi Han.
“Then why didn’t you sign?!” Qin Wen questioned word by word.
Chi Han was momentarily speechless. How should he say it? Be subtle? Would Qin Wen understand? Be direct? But he had never said these things before.
As the seconds ticked by, Qin Wen lost patience. He gave a self-deprecating smile, falling back, but Chi Han caught him, pulling him into his strong embrace instead of letting him fall onto the bed. Qin Wen heard the man’s heartbeat gradually speeding up.
Not to mention Chi Han, this was a very novel experience for Qin Wen too. Chi Han actually had emotional fluctuations? He seemed unchanged for years, with nothing able to pique his interest.
“I…” Chi Han seemed to find the words burning his mouth, starting but then pausing. He unconsciously tightened his embrace, knowing he had to clarify this matter, frowning as if facing a difficult problem, finally sighing, “I don’t want to sign.”
Qin Wen repeated, “You don’t want to sign?”
“Yes, I don’t want to sign, don’t want you to be somewhere I can’t see, don’t want to see you uncomfortable.” Chi Han honestly revealed his feelings, then asked Qin Wen, “Why do you think that is?”
Qin Wen was dumbfounded by these ambiguous yet guiding explanations, thinking, how would I know?
Strangely, the sadness in his heart dissipated, soothed by Chi Han’s inexplicable words. Reflecting on recent events, Qin Wen’s heartbeat also quickened. He cleared the fog, deeply realizing the “flaw” of top-level Alphas. Their emotional fluctuations were minimal. Even if someone rushed in with explosives strapped to their waist, Qin Wen wouldn’t doubt Chi Han could enter negotiation mode within three seconds. But correspondingly, being moved or emotional was something they scoffed at, yet once opened, it was an absolutely unfamiliar territory.
Perhaps a flower bloomed in Chi Han’s heart, but he had never seen it.
Is that so? Qin Wen tentatively climbed onto Chi Han’s shoulder, feeling the man’s response. Joy flowed slowly despite his efforts to control it. He whispered, “I want to take a bath.”
This answer made Chi Han’s brows relax. He listened, didn’t think he was bullying him, right?
“Okay.” Chi Han picked up Qin Wen, taking him to the bathroom. Everything was normal, like running hot water, except when it came to bathing, Qin Wen asked him to leave. Chi Han, being kicked out, felt a bit stifled, wondering if Qin Wen understood what “not divorced” meant.
The temporary marking gave Qin Wen enough time to catch his breath, most of the discomfort dissipating. He soaked in the warm water, stretching his limbs, his eyes deep, lost in thought.
There was an opportunity Qin Wen didn’t want to miss.
Listening to the sound of water from the bathroom, Chi Han felt increasingly restless. He waited quietly for a few minutes, then suddenly got up and strode to the next room.
What for? Naturally, to take a cold shower.
