Chapter 24: Fainting once in a lifetime…
“Okay.”
Such a simple word, like a vow that would definitely be fulfilled. Levi opened his big eyes—suddenly thought of something and grinned.
“People in Z-Zone, including Claude, say I’m ‘one of a kind’!” Levi struggled out of Leslie’s arms, “But I don’t like the term ‘one of a kind’.”
“Why?” Leslie looked at Levi—who was excited, the world seemed to jump along with him.
“Because it means lonely—it means I can only be a lone hero. It’s not a good thing to be a hero anyway, and then to be a lonely hero, too tragic!” Levi put both hands in his pockets, shrugged, looked up and looked at the top of the fortress city which was pitch black, “Leslie, do you think you can handle a Pristine Lady?”
Leslie laughed, the city lights dimmed in his smile.
“If you can do it, why can’t I?”
“Okay—“ Levi pulled Leslie over and ran, when a smart taxi drove by, Levi reached out and stopped it.
“Where do you want to go?”
“The training room in Z-Zone.”
When they arrived at their destination—there were still many researchers continuing their work.
Levi walked along the quiet corridor—occasionally turning his head to say to Leslie, “See, these guys are all workaholics, they don’t understand the meaning of life at all.”
“What do you think the meaning of life is?” Leslie asked nonchalantly.
“To spend it lavishly.”
After fingerprint authentication—the door to the training room opened. A figure sat in front of the computer, rapidly tapping the keyboard.
His heart skipped a beat, Levi suddenly thought—could it be the guy he least wanted to see?
Ironically, the next second Levi was sure that this figure was definitely not Claude.
“Hey, who’s so dedicated, still not going home late at night?” Levi walked over thinking it might be Miller, but when the other turned around, he was startled.
There were heavy dark circles under his eyes—his beard was unshaven, his military uniform was draped over his shoulders, wrinkled and looking like he hadn’t washed for several nights.
“Morris? No way? You don’t seem like the type to work overtime.” Levi deliberately made an exaggerated expression.
“If you hadn’t come back alive, I could have been carefree.” Morris squinted his eyes, looking exhausted to the point of exhaustion, when he saw Leslie not far away—his eyes suddenly lit up, “Oh my god Levi, how can a scum like you know such a beautiful woman?”
Levi turned to look at Leslie, thinking that the word ‘beautiful woman’ might make him go off—but fortunately Leslie’s expression was still calm.
“Hey, I’m saying, can my friend try the Pristine Lady simulation system tonight?” Levi put his arm around Morris’s shoulder—but unexpectedly the other was overwhelmed and almost hit his chin on the computer.
Morris’s gaze shifted to Leslie—he stroked his chin thoughtfully, “The person who could bring Levi to try the Pristine Lady system—I think there’s only one, you’re Leslie leclerc.”
Leslie just stood there quietly, as if he were an observer.
“What, can’t I try? Do I need to ask Claude, that hypocrite?” Thinking of what that guy did to him—Levi’s mood was more complex than just depressed.
“You say Claude is a hypocrite—I’m probably the only one in this world who believes you.” Morris entered a few commands, the entire space was covered by the holographic computer, “You can try as much as you want, I still have this much authority.”
“Thanks!” Levi couldn’t wait to open the door of the simulated cockpit, beckoned to Leslie, “Hey, this is really fun!”
Leslie sat in, the system started.
“You little rascal.” Morris looked excited, “You want to see him dizzy and vomit, right?”
Speaking of which, Levi remembered that the first time he came out of the system—he vomited until he was dizzy, followed by several days of dizziness.
“Oh, you reminded me, I should have brought a toilet.”
“Forget it, can you imagine a handsome man like Leslie hugging a toilet and vomiting?”
Then the two looked up at the sky together, saying in unison, “Can’t imagine…”
On the holographic image, Leslie’s fighter jet flew into the sky, followed by a fierce battle—Morris wasn’t as perverted as Miller, there were only three aircraft attacking Leslie in the instructions.
Levi opened his eyes wide—watching intently how Leslie got out of the enemy’s entanglement in this extremely uncomfortable system. Although he was clumsy, it reflected Leslie’s sensitivity to space and his surprisingly adaptable system skills.
Morris also got a bad idea—after adding instructions, two aircraft joined the attack on Leslie.
“Colonel Morris, i’ll twist your neck.” Leslie’s cold voice came through the communicator.
“Heh heh,” Li Wei laughed, “I’m looking forward to it.”
“Oh, you misunderstood, it was Li Wei who said that you couldn’t last longer in the system than him, so I forced the instructions.” Morris raised an eyebrow at Levi.
But unexpectedly—Levi’s expression was calm, “Leslie will definitely last five minutes, i’ll know when I fly with him.”
“You trust him so much, it’ll make Claude jealous.”
“Hmph.” Li Wei turned his head away.
This time the result made Morris very excited, because Leslie lasted five minutes and forty-four seconds in the system—three seconds longer than Levi’s first time.
“He broke the record.” Morris was excited to process Leslie’s data.
Levi just opened the hatch and looked at Leslie, who was still sitting in the same position.
“Want to puke?”
The other closed his eyes and didn’t speak.
Levi beckoned, a smart trash can automatically came to him—Levi calmly patted his shoulder and said, “If you want to puke, puke it out quickly—we only have the endurance to bear everything after we’ve completely fainted once.”
Suddenly, Leslie bent down—his hands supporting the sides of the trash can, and he vomited.
Levi was silent, patting his back with his hand, he said coolly, “See, we shouldn’t have eaten expensive Western food tonight it all came back up, what a waste.”
Until Leslie stopped vomiting—Levi sighed and said, “Do you want me to carry you back?”
The other was silent as expected. Levi put his arm on his shoulder and carried Leslie. This guy was heavier than he thought.
When they reached the door—Morris spoke, “If you want another Pristine lady, you’ll have to go to the hypocrite you mentioned.”
Levi sighed, “Can you stop reminding me of this cruel fact?”
“Why say that? Maybe for Claude, your existence is a truly cruel fact.”
Levi smiled, “We can never control what others think, the simplest thing is to enjoy our own lives.”
After saying that—Levi turned and left, carrying Leslie.
All the way—the guy on his back was frowning, Li Wei jokingly said, “My dear Leslie, when I was a kid— I never dreamed I would be carrying you like this on the road. You were so arrogant, you wouldn’t even talk to me.” Leslie’s arm tightened, choking Levi almost to the point of not being able to breathe.
When they reached Leslie’s dormitory door—Levi put him down and pressed his finger on the identification device, the door opened.
This guy’s room was so simple that there wasn’t a single unnecessary item.
Levi laid Leslie on the bed and covered him with a blanket, “Hey, you’re going to be out for two or three days, i’ll go ahead and call in sick for you. “The other didn’t answer, just his furrowed brows made people think he was very tired.
“Hey, get some rest, I’m going back to the hospital.” Levi just got up—his wrist was grabbed by the other. Leslie was still closing his eyes, his lips slightly pursed—but his fingers gripping Levi’s finger showed his absolute unwillingness to let Levi leave.
Scratching his head, Levi lay down beside Leslie, “Hey, do you know how pathetic you look right now, are you sure you want me to see you like this?
Leslie’s arm tightened, Levi fell, propped himself up with an elbow, his nose was inches from Leslie’s.
Levi chuckled, “Hey, don’t have a crush on me, there are tons of beautiful women out there waiting for me to pick up.” “Shut up.” Only two words, but Leslie said them with great force. Levi could only lie on his side beside him—he most troublesome thing was that Leslie was holding him too tightly, it was already numb.
“Can you let go, I’m not going to run.” Levi was a little helpless.
But Leslie turned around and directly hugged Levi, his head buried in Levi’s chest—as if as long as he held Levi tight, his world would stop spinning.
Levi’s wrist was released—but his whole body became the other’s pillow, he could only laugh and pat Leslie’s back and say, “Okay, Leslie… I’m right here, I’m not going anywhere.” Only then did Leslie’s force lighten—Levi could finally breathe.
“You’re lucky, you can still grab me when you’re dizzy. I could only lie in bed back then…”
Actually, not really… Suddenly, Levi thought of Claude—it was that guy, his blue eyes drew away all of Levi’s energy—making him forget that the world was spinning.
Ah… ah… Why am I thinking of that guy? Lev was depressed.
“I… want to take a bath…” Leslie mumbled.
