Application For Divorce
AFD Chapter 78: Planet Figurines

In just a few days, Cheng Jin had figured out the pattern in which Lu Tao’s two personalities controlled the body. The main personality, with its strong mental power, usually appeared during the day, while the derivative personality emerged at night, though its appearances were becoming increasingly brief. Sometimes, Cheng Jin would fall asleep in the arms of the second personality, only to wake up facing his former husband.

This bizarre mix of hot and cold was strangely cherished by Cheng Jin. In five days, this opportunity would no longer be available.

During these days, Cheng Jin was once again called to the military for an investigation interview, still regarding his previous experiences. He was repeatedly questioned for three hours before being released. To his embarrassment, he also had to describe several intimate encounters with his husband during their travels. Fortunately, these details would not be made public.

Cheng Xu had booked three train tickets from the Imperial Planet to a trade planet. Cheng Jin found this odd.

“Bro, aren’t we going to Planet Number Six? Why not buy a direct ticket?” he asked.

“Direct tickets are more expensive,” Cheng Xu explained simply.

“I have money, you know. I’m about to complete my last order, and it pays really well!” Cheng Jin hurriedly responded.

Cheng Xu chuckled on the other side of the screen. “Having money doesn’t mean we shouldn’t spend it wisely. Haven’t you forgotten? Don’t you want to start your own brand? I want to start over too, plus dad’s medical expenses are coming up. We need to save where we can.”

Cheng Jin nodded quickly, realizing his brother made a good point. “Right, we need to save.”

Seeing he had convinced his younger brother, Cheng Xu sighed in relief and added, “And about our leaving—don’t tell anyone.”

“Of course,” Cheng Jin replied with a hint of sadness. “But we don’t really have anyone we must tell, do we? Our old friends…” His former friends had cut ties after their family’s bankruptcy and even mocked him at the last orange blossom party. Although they had shown renewed interest after learning he was the General’s wife, Cheng Jin had not contacted them again. But speaking of friends…

“Ah, I still have a friend—Yurika!” he suddenly exclaimed. While the old friends were gone, he had made a new friend at the orange blossom party. Yurika, though a large man, was kind-hearted with a pleasant personality. Realizing he might not see Yurika again after leaving, Cheng Jin hesitated. “I want to say goodbye to him, bro. Is that okay?”

“No,” Cheng Xu said decisively.

Cheng Jin didn’t understand. “Why not? We’re leaving, not escaping. No one will track us, not even Lu Tao. He’ll probably be relieved after knowing about the divorce application.”

“It’s just not possible,” Cheng Xu replied. “But you can meet him. Just don’t mention that we’re leaving.”

Although unsure of his brother’s reasoning, Cheng Jin trusted him and nodded.

He arranged to meet Yurika and, knowing his fondness for sweets, bought many ingredients to bake various filled pastries and a strawberry cake. He prepared two sets of each, one intended for his grandmother. Before leaving, he needed to return the night pearl to his grandmother, a gift Lu Tao had bought for her.

The desserts for Yurika were substantial. They met at Sunny Cake Shop, where Yurika was already waiting. From the back, Yurika looked like a sturdy man, wearing a long-sleeved shirt tucked into army-green trousers with boots, despite it being winter. He was engrossed in eating desserts.

Cheng Jin sat opposite him. Two portions of complimentary desserts were on the table, smaller in quantity. Yurika seemed to treasure them, eating carefully as if savoring each bite. After greeting each other, Yurika, who had shaved his beard, looked younger. His eyes lit up when he saw the large bag Cheng Jin carried, filled with desserts.

“Your cake is even better than the ones they sell here!” Yurika praised, devouring half of the cake quickly.

“Ah… haha… not really…” Cheng Jin felt embarrassed, hoping not to upset the pastry chefs at the shop. Fortunately, no one seemed to mind.

As Yurika enjoyed the cake, he asked, “You said you’re traveling far? Where are you going? Is it a trip with your husband?”

“Ah… no…” Cheng Jin vaguely replied. “Just going to a faraway planet with my brother. I’ve only told you, so don’t tell anyone else.”

“Don’t worry,” Yurika reassured him. “Traveling to different planets is fun. My dream is to travel the world, become a navigator, and discover a new planet.” He proudly pulled out several planet figurines, promotional gifts from the dessert shop. “I’ve been to these places!” he declared, pointing at seven or eight models.

Cheng Jin admired one of the models. “Is this Planet Number Six?”

“Yeah, I got it last week,” Yurika responded, showing him the model.

Just as Cheng Jin leaned in to examine the figurine, a voice came from behind, one he didn’t particularly like.

“Where is the General’s wife going? Another trip?”

Recognizing the voice, Yurika called out, “Cousin.” Yan Qi, dressed in a glamorous suit, sat next to Cheng Jin with a smile.

After a brief, amusing argument between Yurika and Yan Qi over VIP cards, Yan Qi turned back to Cheng Jin. “Where did Mr. Cheng say he was going? I have chain hotels on every planet. I’ll waive your accommodation fees.”

Cheng Jin was skeptical. “Are you really that generous?”

Yan Qi smiled. “Do I not look like a generous person?”

Not wanting to continue the conversation, Cheng Jin made an excuse. “I have to go. I still need to deliver something to my grandmother. See you next time, Yurika.”

After shaking hands with Yurika, Cheng Jin hurriedly left. Yan Qi, now alone with his cousin, asked, “Did Cheng Jin tell you where he’s going?”

“No,” Yurika replied with a mouthful of pastry.

Yan Qi’s gaze fell on the pile of planet figurines, “Which planet was he looking at just now?”
