Chapter 13
As the glass came closer and closer, Luo Wan remained calm.
She looked into the eyes of her half-sister, born of the same father but a different mother, and saw the malice within.
So, this was the affection she had longed for over the past ten years.
It seemed better to do without it.
Suddenly, Luo Wan felt a sense of liberation. Since they were acting so unscrupulously, she saw no reason to hide anymore.
What’s so bad about being bad?
She had been through rough times on the border, using poison when these people had no clue what they were doing.
Others couldn’t see it, but Luo Rou could clearly see the change in Luo Wan’s expression.
For a moment, it was as if her heart stopped beating.
Then, she saw Luo Wan swiftly turn around, easily breaking free from the grip of the few people restraining her. The glass in her hand was snatched away, and then she felt her jaw being forcefully held, causing her to scream in pain as the juice was poured into her mouth.
Some of the juice spilled onto her clothes before she could swallow it, leaving her looking disheveled.
Luo Wan viciously threw the empty glass at Luo Minghui’s feet. It shattered on impact, scattering glass shards everywhere.
“Now you can give her a bath and send her to bed.”
“Get her a bath and send her to bed.”
No one expected this seemingly fragile woman to have such strength; they were all stunned.
Rui Tianfeng was the first to react. Disregarding the glass shards on the ground, she rushed over and hugged her daughter with a heartache.
The contents of the glass were administered by her. To make Luo Wan obedient, she knew exactly how potent it was.
It was a dosage that didn’t consider whether the body could handle it or not.
As long as it was consumed, even just a few sips, unless the person was immediately taken to the hospital, the doctors wouldn’t be able to do anything.
Rui Tianfeng trembled with fear, watching as Luo Rou’s face gradually turned red. She glared angrily at Luo Wan and cursed, “You despicable person! How dare you harm your sister like this?”
Luo Wan shrugged innocently and asked, “How could I have harmed her? Wasn’t it you who poured the juice?”
Rui Tianfeng, consumed with worry for her daughter, completely dropped her earlier pretense of gentleness and spoke without restraint, “You despicable person! If anything happens to Rui’er, I won’t let you off.”
“How could anything happen? Sending her to President Zhang’s bed immediately will not only quench her sister’s thirst but also bring funding to the company. Killing two birds with one stone,” Luo Wan mimicked the tone of the two women before her.
After speaking, she realized she was acting like them and stopped.
Tea isn’t so bad either; at least it can effortlessly drive someone mad.
On the floor, Luo Rou had already started tearing at her clothes, looking as disheveled as could be.
The entire villa was in chaos because of Luo Rou’s situation.
Luo Wan, with her arms crossed, calmly watched the scene unfold.
Luo Minghui was also anxious. Luo Rou was the daughter he had carefully groomed and was supposed to marry into the Sheng family in the future. This incident couldn’t ruin that.
Luo Rou, with a flushed face and starting to sweat, squeezed Rui Tianfeng’s hand with all her strength before losing consciousness. She weakly muttered, “Call Sheng Yujie.”
This sentence served as a reminder to Luo Minghui.
That’s right.
The Sheng family had always opposed this engagement. But if Rou’er were to become pregnant with their child, the Sheng family would undoubtedly relent.
Luo Minghui quickly took out his phone and called Sheng Yujie, briefly explaining the situation.
In his explanation, he painted Luo Wan as a heartless schemer who would stop at nothing to ruin Luo Rou in order to snatch away the engagement.
Sheng Yujie already disliked this woman from the countryside. Hearing that she was plotting against his beloved, he was consumed with anger and immediately rushed to the Luo residence.
