Chapter 3
At these words, the mother and daughter solidly blocked the doorway, arms crossed provocatively as they stared at Luo Wan.
Luo Wan sneered.
Mockingly, she said, “What’s wrong? Not acting like good sisters or good stepmothers?”
Since the day she returned to the Luo family, this mother and daughter had been playing both sides.
One way in front of her father, another way behind his back.
She had grown used to it.
So she wouldn’t believe a word they said.
Luo Wan had no patience to waste on them. She squeezed through the gap between them.
The two women were pushed aside by her, and Rui Tianfeng almost stumbled, especially due to her high heels.
Luo Rou quickly helped her mother and continued to shout, “Luo Wan, wait until Dad comes back to see how you’ll behave.”
Luo Wan ignored them and went straight upstairs.
At noon, Luo Minghui finally returned home.
At the dining table.
Luo Minghui directly addressed Luo Wan, getting straight to the point, “Wanwan, tonight you’re going back to that room. Mr. Zhang is waiting for you there.”
“Mr. Zhang has already let go of what happened last night. As long as you serve him well today, he will still invest.”
At these words, Luo Wan could hardly believe her ears.
It hadn’t worked out yesterday, and now they were asking again today.
This was definitely a situation where they wanted to sell their own…
A child is only let go when they are useful.
Or perhaps, after leaving her in the countryside for ten years, the purpose of bringing her back now is this.
“I’m not going.” Luo Wan refused outright.
Seeing his daughter’s firm attitude, Luo Minghui began to play the emotional card.
“Wanwan, this company was created by your mother single-handedly. Now that the company is facing a crisis, you don’t want your mother’s hard work to go to waste, do you?”
“So, you still remember that this was mother’s hard work.” Luo Wan looked up at her father, staring at him coldly and mockingly.
Luo Minghui’s face became embarrassed.
“I was wrong to your mother back then. Now, aren’t I trying my best to make up for it?”
“Your so-called making up is abandoning her daughter in the countryside without care. After finally bringing her back, you want her daughter to sell herself.”
“Now that the company is in crisis, Dad also has no choice.”
Luo Wan looked at her father, feeling her heart sinking little by little.
She wanted to argue, but she swallowed her words back into her stomach.
For parents whose hearts have already gone astray, saying anything more is useless.
Luo Wan glanced at Luo Rou, who had been eating obediently on the side but was secretly delighted.
She smirked.
“Don’t you still have another daughter?”
“They’ve enjoyed so many years, it’s time for them to contribute a bit.”
With those words, Luo Minghui, who had just been smiling, suddenly became serious and said sternly, “Don’t pin your thoughts on your sister.”
“She has an engagement with the Sheng family, and it cannot be ruined.”
Her father’s immediate defense sank Luo Wan’s heart to the bottom.
“So it’s okay to ruin me.”
“But I remember the Sheng family isn’t pleased that your sister is the daughter of a mistress and is considering breaking off the engagement.”
As soon as this was said, Luo Rou and Rui Tianfeng’s faces went pale.
It’s one thing to be the mistress, but it’s another for someone else to say it.
Seeing Luo Wan so stubborn, Luo Minghui became directly angry and embarrassed.
“I’m telling you. You must go today.”
Then he played his trump card.
“If you want to get the shares your mother left you, you better behave.”
At his words, Luo Wan lifted her head abruptly.
The matter of shares was something her grandfather had talked to her about before he passed away.
She came back this time to reclaim her shares and to see what kind of person her father, who had abandoned his own daughter in the countryside, really was.
Before, she couldn’t bear to bring up the matter of shares, after all, it was the company her father had worked so hard to build.
But now she knew, some people aren’t fit to be fathers.
A fierce light began to flicker in Luo Wan’s eyes.
