Chapter 24: No…You are afraid
Perhaps because Gong Zhi was very familiar with the artifact, he repaired it effortlessly.
It was repaired in less than a quarter of an hour.
He pinched the petals and checked them again, confirming there were no oversights before handing it back to Ning Yue.
Ning Yue accepted it, fastening it to her hair as before, and smiled sweetly at him. “Thank you, Senior Brother Gong.”
Gong Zhi’s expression remained unchanged; he nodded slightly. “You’re welcome. Rest; I’m going back.”
He lowered his robe and was about to leave.
Ning Yue looked at the sky outside, grabbed Gong Zhi’s sleeve, and said, “Wait a moment, Senior Brother Gong.”
Then she turned and searched; after searching for a long time, she finally found what she wanted, taking a beautiful glass bottle from her Qiankun bag.
Gong Zhi watched Ning Yue busy herself and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Ning Yue smiled mysteriously. “Look”
Then, a small, hot, bright flame ignited in her hand.
Gong Zhi followed her gaze.
Her fair, delicate hand reached for the bottle’s mouth; the flame in her palm obediently fell into the bottle.
A bright light shone in the beautiful glass bottle.
“Here” Ning Yue smiled and handed him the bottle. “Thank you, Senior Brother Gong, for coming to help me repair the artifact so late at night.”
Gong Zhi paused, not reacting; he didn’t reach out to take it immediately.
Ning Yue sighed and took Gong Zhi’s hand, forcefully stuffing the glowing glass bottle into his hand.
“Consider it lighting. It’s dark outside; with the flame to keep you company, you won’t be afraid.”
Gong Zhi’s gaze shifted to the glass bottle; the flame emitted a warm light, jumping towards him through the bottle.
He replied slowly. “…I’m not afraid.”
Ning Yue: “…”
I went to all this trouble to create a romantic moment, and you have to ruin it.
She said expressionlessly, “No, you are afraid.”
Hearing this, Gong Zhi looked at Ning Yue’s expression.
The little girl’s fair face had a hint of a threatening expression, as if she thought she was hiding it well.
He couldn’t help but smile. “Okay.”
Holding the glass bottle, he turned and said goodbye to Ning Yue. “It’s late; get some rest.”
…
After Gong Zhi left, Ning Yue eagerly entered her consciousness space.
Xiaohua was leisurely lying on the cushion; seeing Ning Yue, it yawned. “You’re here?”
Ning Yue grabbed Xiaohua, pulled out the cushion to sit on, picked up the book she had been reading, and continued.
Xiaohua complained indignantly, “What are you doing! Stealing my things.”
Ning Yue ignored it. “Everything in the consciousness space is mine, including you.”
Xiaohua angrily crossed its arms and used a leaf to lightly flick Ning Yue.
“Humph!!!”
As Ning Yue said, everything in the consciousness space was hers.
With the improvement of her cultivation and spiritual power, Ning Yue also discovered new uses for the consciousness space.
Similar to the man in green robes in the alchemy trial.
Whatever she thought of, it would appear in the consciousness space.
This was a very useful skill.
Currently, however, there were limitations to what she could create.
Only things she had seen and was familiar with, and she couldn’t take them out of the space.
But Xiaohua guessed that as her spiritual power increased, she might one day be able to take the things she created out.
Ning Yue casually opened a bag of potato chips and ate them.
Now this consciousness library fully met Ning Yue’s preferences and habits.
There were all kinds of snacks and drinks.
Xiaohua moved to the nearby leather sofa and said lazily, “You did a good thing.”
Ning Yue glanced at Xiaohua and casually threw it a bottle of colored beverage.
In the meantime, she had finished reading “Ancient Fire Seeds,” but due to the short time, she could only skim through it once.
Ning Yue stood up, closed her eyes, and imagined a pure white space.
Her brow felt slightly warm; when she opened her eyes again, she was already in a spotless pure white space.
The drink had spilled all over her; Xiaohua had gone from a little white flower to a little red flower.
It seemed to dislike its new skin.
It grumbled and hopped onto Ning Yue’s shoulder. “Next time, can you tell me before changing spaces? Most of the drink spilled!”
Ning Yue smiled. “Sorry, sorry. When we get back, I’ll make you a stack of drinks.”
Xiaohua was finally appeased. “Finished practicing Ancient Fire Seeds?”
Ning Yue nodded. “Barely. Let’s test its power.”
A three-meter-thick wall appeared in the space.
Ning Yue held her palm upward; a huge, hot flame appeared in her palm.
Then, at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye, it flew towards the stone wall.
The moment the flame touched the wall, the three-meter-thick wall melted rapidly at a visible speed.
Ning Yue calculated that the wall melted in about three seconds.
No wonder it’s called Ancient Fire Seeds! It’s truly amazing!!
Xiaohua burrowed into Ning Yue’s hanging hair and looked at the flame’s power, letting out a “wow.”
Ning Yue thought Xiaohua was going to praise her; she was already getting ready to be complimented.
Then she heard Xiaohua say, “Wow, how could you practice Ancient Fire Seeds like this! This power is less than ten percent.”
Ning Yue: “…”
Ning Yue was silent.
Then she silently revealed her shortcomings. “To be precise, it should be eight percent.”
“Humph,” Xiaohua said. “This power is only enough to fool those people outside; it’s nothing to me.
But you achieved eight percent power after only two days of practice; you’re worthy of being my master!”
Ning Yue: “…”
Xiaohua continued to check. “What about the other techniques? How did you practice them?”
Ning Yue, like a student being checked on their homework, showed Xiaohua the other techniques one by one.
Xiaohua, as always, criticized first and then praised.
Ning Yue was already used to this teaching style; sometimes Xiaohua’s suggestions were quite insightful.
“This Green Valley Secret Realm is quite disgusting; only those at the Jindan stage and below are allowed to enter.
The highest cultivation level is only Golden Core late stage, and the Green Valley is very dangerous; if you’re not careful, you’ll die.”
“Many lives have been lost there over the past few hundred years; of course, there are those who have survived.
But, at the same time, the greater the danger, the greater the opportunity.”
“The damage to your spiritual roots is irreversible; you would have become disabled and unable to cultivate.
But with just one Green Lotus, your spiritual roots can be completely restored; it’s even better than a Marrow Cleansing Pill.”
Only then did Ning Yue fully understand the preciousness of the Green Lotus.
And why the Green Valley Secret Realm was so dangerous yet still attracted so many people.
“With your current abilities and the techniques you’ve learned, you should be able to survive the secret realm.
But this kind of secret realm is usually visited by Golden Core cultivators; I suggest you break through to the Jindan stage as soon as possible.”
Ning Yue said helplessly, “…Aren’t you being a bit too easy? Cultivation breakthroughs aren’t that easy!”
Xiaohua calmly glanced at Ning Yue. “Don’t play dumb; I know you.
You’re not the type who struggles with breakthroughs; just break through as soon as possible.
I’ll check in two days; if you don’t break through, I’ll give you more tasks!”
Ning Yue: “…”
Ning Yue was silently crying inside.
