Chapter 47: Qiao Zhenyuan Begins the Evaluation
Since the incident of throwing feces, Qiao Yue had been given the nickname ” Shit-Fragrant Princess.”
She hated hearing those four words the most. Every time she heard them, she would recall the humiliating day.
Qiao Yue nearly exploded: “Qiao Lan, shut your mouth.”
She had dressed up beautifully today, hoping to see Qiao Lan’s humiliation. She tried her best to maintain her noble and elegant demeanor.
Qiao Lan looked at Qiao Yue’s pretentious act and sneered.
Even if she dressed herself as a fairy, she was still a joke.
“You came here to humiliate yourself, Feces Princess.”
She deliberately emphasized the last four words.
“Ahhhh, Qiao Lan, I’m going to kill you!”
Qiao Yue could no longer control her emotions and rushed forward to attack Qiao Lan.
Before she could touch a single strand of Qiao Lan’s hair, a man’s strong arm stopped her.
Mo Qian had come with Qiao Lan. He was wearing a black suit, his deep, dark eyes hidden behind sunglasses. The cold aura surrounding him made Qiao Yue shiver: “If you dare touch my wife, I’ll make sure Chu Zhiheng can’t walk for the rest of his life.”
Qiao Yue’s pupils constricted. She pointed at Mo Qian: “Zhiheng was beaten by you?”
Mo Qian neither confirmed nor denied it, but instead asked: “Do you have any evidence?”
Qiao Yue pointed at Mo Qian, saying with absolute certainty: “Zhiheng was beaten by you. I’ll tell my father and mother right now. They won’t let you get away with it.”
Chu Zhiheng had been beaten after being put in a sack. He had not only suffered severe injuries but also damaged the Chu family’s reputation. Chu Zhiheng’s parents had offered a hefty reward for the capture of the perpetrator.
Before Chu Zhiheng was injured, he had been madly pursuing Qiao Lan. Mo Qian must have been resentful.
She should have known it was Mo Qian’s doing.
Mo Qian narrowed his eyes dangerously and casually reminded her: “Without evidence, it’s slander and you’ll go to jail.”
He finished speaking and disdainfully let go of Qiao Yue’s wrist.
His grip was strong, and Qiao Yue stumbled backward, losing her balance.
She accidentally bumped into a passing employee.
The employee recognized Qiao Yue’s face and pushed her away in disgust.
He still couldn’t forget the smell from that day.
Qiao Yue didn’t expect an employee to despise her. She angrily threatened: “Don’t you want to work here anymore?”
The employee raised his resignation letter: “I’m here to quit.”
Threatening him with losing his job wouldn’t work!
Qiao Yue was furious. She looked around at the people watching and laughing. Unable to bear their mocking gazes, she fled in disgrace.
Qiao Lan shook her head helplessly.
Wasn’t she humiliating herself?
She was so stupid.
Qiao Lan glanced at the time. It was almost 8:30.
At 8:29, Qiao Zhenyuan and Qiao Lao arrived.
Qiao Yue was following behind them.
Only this time, she had learned her lesson. She was no longer arrogant and domineering. She followed behind Qiao Zhenyuan like a pure and innocent little rabbit.
Qiao Zhenyuan had a smile on his face: “Lanlan, you’re at work.”
Qiao Lan nodded: “Grandpa.”
Qiao Lao patted Qiao Lan on the shoulder: “Lanlan, do you want to go to the conference room together?”
“No, I haven’t been to the company for a few days, and I have a lot of things to deal with.”
She wasn’t interested in watching Qiao Zhenyuan perform.
Qiao Lao didn’t force her, but in Qiao Zhenyuan’s eyes, it meant Qiao Lan was timid and shrinking back.
He comforted her with a gentle tone: “Lanlan, don’t work too hard. Take a break when you need to. I’m here for the company.”
He said it was comfort, but it was actually a silent declaration.
Qiao Lan smiled. The previous Qiao Zhenyuan wouldn’t dare say such big words.
“Okay, I look forward to your transformation.”
Qiao Lan left with composure.
Her calmness and ease won the admiration of the shareholders.
Qiao Lan had been at Qiao Corporation for four years, and their feelings had changed from dissatisfaction to sincere admiration.
This girl was young but had a lot of guts.
…
Mo Qian and Qiao Lan left together.
He said confidently: “Qiao Zhenyuan will definitely pass the company’s evaluation.”
Qiao Lan’s eyes were slightly clouded: “Even if he passes the company’s evaluation, Grandpa may not hand over the company to him.”
Today’s evaluation was just to pass the shareholders’ hurdle. To pass Grandpa’s hurdle, it would take some time.
“Help someone to the end, send Buddha to the West. Tang Hongwen will help him get control of the company.”
“Let’s hope so.”
She didn’t want to sit in that position for a single day.
With Tang Hongwen around, Qiao Lan didn’t have many files to accumulate. She finished everything in an hour.
She stretched and went outside to check the situation.
The door to the conference room just opened.
The shareholders came out with expressions of amazement, constantly praising.
“Tang Hongwen is really skilled. He actually managed to carve Qiao Zhenyuan, a piece of rotten wood, into shape.”
“I heard that the company’s recent transactions were all negotiated by Qiao Zhenyuan. It seems he has really transformed.”
“The sky of Qiao Corporation is about to change.”
They saw Qiao Lan and looked at her with pity.
Qiao Zhenyuan and Qiao Lan had a long-standing grudge. If he gained control of the company, he would definitely kick her out of the company without hesitation.
Qiao Lao was already in the late stages of lung cancer and couldn’t protect Qiao Lan for long. She would eventually lose to blood ties.
However, Qiao Lan ignored their pitying gazes and nodded slightly.
A shareholder with a good relationship with her whispered: “Qiao Lan, don’t just focus on work. You should find a way out for yourself.”
Qiao Lan smiled and said: “I know, thank you for reminding me.”
Seeing her say this, the shareholder felt relieved.
Qiao Lan was a smart and intelligent woman. She wouldn’t put herself in an awkward situation.
Then, Qiao Lan saw Qiao Zhenyuan and his daughter walking out with arrogance.
The father and daughter had triumphant smiles on their faces, as if they wanted everyone to know that he had passed the shareholders’ evaluation.
Qiao Lan’s expression was indifferent: “Congratulations, Mr. Qiao.”
Qiao Zhenyuan couldn’t hide his smugness: “Lanlan, I can help you share the company’s affairs in the future.”
“That’s great.”
Qiao Yue asked with dissatisfaction: “Qiao Lan, there’s no joy on your face. It doesn’t sound like congratulations, but more like sarcasm. Don’t you want my father to pass the evaluation?”
Qiao Lan’s face showed an unprecedented seriousness: “I want your father to pass the evaluation more than anyone else.”
Qiao Lao, who was walking behind them, paused. A flash of embarrassment crossed his old face.
Qiao Lan seemed not to notice and asked with concern: “Grandpa, are you going home?”
“Yes, Lanlan, you should send Grandpa off.”
He had a few words to say to Qiao Lan.
Qiao Lan hesitated for a moment and nodded: “Okay.”
Qiao Yue nervously held Qiao Lao’s arm: “Grandpa, I want to go with you.”
She was afraid that Grandpa would promise something to Qiao Lan behind their backs.
After all, her father was about to take over the company. With Grandpa’s love for Qiao Lan, he would definitely feel guilty and try to compensate her.
Her little thoughts were written all over her face. Qiao Lao felt a little disappointed.
She was always afraid that he would give Qiao Lan something good.
She didn’t know that he was doing it all for their sake.
