Gu Xinchuan’s eyes curved with a smile as he pulled a guitar from the storage cabinet like a magician. He casually rested the guitar on the arm of the sofa, bending one long leg comfortably. “I’ll sing you a song as a birthday gift.”
Song Yi took a seat across from him. “Can I request a song? I’d like to hear something by the King of Songs…”
“Nope.” Gu Xinchuan decisively refused, shooting him a sidelong glance. “When I sing outside, I charge eighty thousand for a custom song. You think I’m just going to sing for you?”
Song Yi chuckled and settled into a comfortable position on the sofa. “Go ahead and sing; I’ll listen to whatever you choose.”
As the first notes rang out, Song Yi’s heart felt like it was jolted awake. He stared, wide-eyed, at Gu Xinchuan’s face.
Gu Xinchuan glanced up at him, a smile playing on his lips. His gaze was focused and serious, and his fingers moved gracefully over the guitar strings.
“I say, baby, you need your freedom; you need your own sky…
You need to learn to be carefree; you need to be unrestrained.
Your happiness is more important than anything.
Baby, baby,
You need to ride the winds and break the waves,
Steering the ship across the vast sea.
You should follow your heart,
And you should have no fear anymore
……”
He had heard the song “Riding the Winds” in the livestream of the tall, leggy senior and had really liked its easygoing vibe, thinking about it for a long time. Unfortunately, the tall senior had never sung it again.
He never expected to hear it here.
Song Yi stood there in shock, feeling dizzy. No way—Gu Xinchuan was the tall, leggy senior?
The person he regarded as someone aloof and noble, someone who was both wealthy yet not corrupt and strong yet unyielding, was actually Gu Xinchuan?
He had listened to Gu Xinchuan sing for so long in a semi-conscious state and even tipped him, spending a lot of money.
A mix of emotions flooded his mind; he was both angry and amused. He should have figured it out long ago—especially after seeing that photo from the resort.
The guitar suddenly stopped, and Gu Xinchuan’s eyes sparkled with anticipation as he looked at him. “Did you like it?”
Song Yi’s heart was a whirlwind of emotions, and after a moment, he nodded and whispered. “I liked it.”
But why did Gu Xinchuan vote for him? And why did Gu Xinchuan want to hook up with “Macbeth”?
“If you liked it, don’t you owe me something?” Gu Xinchuan placed the guitar on the sofa, looking Song Yi up and down with half-closed eyes, casually saying, “How about eighty thousand for a kiss?”
Song Yi shook his head, mocking him. “Why don’t I kiss you instead, and you give me eighty thousand?”
“You’re quite the negotiator,” Gu Xinchuan chuckled, his gaze unabashedly roaming over Song Yi. He raised his hand and playfully tapped his own lips. “I’ll agree to that deal.”
Song Yi wasn’t that naive. Besides, his integrity was worth far more than eighty thousand. He smiled lightly, stood up, and playfully pinched Gu Xinchuan’s cheek. The skin was soft and smooth—so nice. “I don’t agree. Let’s cancel the deal.”
Gu Xinchuan grabbed his wrist, looking up at Song Yi with deep, intense eyes that held a burning desire. Slowly tilting his head, he pressed his warm, soft lips against the pulse point on Song Yi’s wrist, gently rubbing against it. He could feel the faint heartbeat against his lips, and he extended his tongue to lick the faint blue vein, kissing it tenderly, bit by bit.
He kept his eyes fixed on Song Yi, unblinking and intense, never looking away.
