Chapter 71: The Rampaging Orphan Trio (1/2)
As the yellow-haired man appeared fiercely, the students immediately scattered in all directions.
Shen Lingyao was startled, her hand that was flipping the skewers froze. A gust of wind blew, causing the burnt smell to choke the yellow-haired man, who spat in disgust and yelled, “I told you to grill sausages, did you hear me?”
His companions, Bashin and Chin Gentsai, stared blankly as well.
Shen Lingyao, who had never encountered such a situation, teared up, trembling and at a loss for what to do.
Some students recognized these three and whispered among themselves.
“They’re the Rampaging Orphan Trio from the Diwei Joy Arcade, always fighting, stealing, and doing all sorts of bad things. Even the arcade’s boss has to give them some respect.”
“They usually hang out at the billiards in the arcade, sometimes at the roller skating rink opposite the cinema.”
“My brother used to hang out with them. What are they doing here causing trouble?”
“How can they bully Shen Lingyao? Should we help her?”
Their whispers quickly reached the ears of the yellow-haired man.
He turned around, his fierce gaze scaring the students who thought about helping, making them step back.
Zhao Qingfeng heard everything clearly.
He suspected that these guys were either sent by his aunts to cause trouble or by Wang Qiang for revenge.
He pulled Shen Lingyao back, asking his mother to protect her. Then, standing behind the grill, he tightly gripped the half-meter-long iron hook used for stoking the coals and said calmly, “Sorry, we can’t grill for you. We’re not selling sausages to you.”
His words were like a fuse.
The yellow-haired man, originally intending to argue, was taken aback by Zhao Qingfeng’s blunt refusal.
He confirmed his identity, squinting and sneering, “Why are you acting so tough? What’s your name? Do you know who I am? I’m Huang Hao from Diwei Joy!”
Zhao Qingfeng also sneered, “I’m Zhao Qingfeng. I’ve never heard of any Huang Hao, only weasels.”
Huang Hao nodded, thinking to himself that Zhao Qingfeng was indeed the one he was looking for.
Taking someone’s money to solve their problems.
Daring to date Shen Lingyao would only end in one way – tragically.
“Will you grill it or not?”
Huang Hao snapped his fingers, turning his head to ask.
“Just wait.”
Zhao Qingfeng’s eyes darted around, then he turned back to Shen Lingyao and his mother, wanting them to leave first.
But Huang Hao wasn’t idle.
He instructed Bashin and Chin Gentsai to extinguish the grill, while he went around to Shen Lingyao, grinning mischievously, “Little sister, you really are pretty. No wonder he’s so interested in you. Listen to me, from now on, you’re not allowed to date him!”
His words made their intention clear.
Everyone understood that these men were sent by Zhao Qingfeng’s romantic rival.
Who could it be?
There were many who admired Shen Lingyao, like stars in the sky, too many to guess.
But one thing was certain – whoever ‘hired’ the Rampaging Trio must have some clout.
Although Shen Lingyao was scared, she still pouted and asked bravely, “Who sent you? We’re not dating. Tell me, and I’ll go find him!”
Huang Hao, of course, wouldn’t tell. He reached out with a sinister smile to snatch the sausages from Shen Lingyao, but was pushed away by his mother.
“Damn it!”
Huang Hao became furious, but this was exactly the scene he had hoped for.
“Don’t touch her!”
His mother protected Shen Lingyao, backing away while loudly accusing him.
However, Huang Hao’s goal was to provoke a conflict, giving him a reasonable excuse to flip the stall and bully them.
He smiled and said to the crowd, “Everyone saw that, right? This old lady pushed me first. It’s not my fault, I’m Huang Hao and I never let things slide. I must teach her a lesson today.”
As he finished speaking, he turned his attention to Feng’s mother, raising his hand to push her to the ground.
If he succeeded, it would accomplish his mission.
The employer’s requirement was either to publicly humiliate Zhao Qingfeng or to beat him severely. Bullying his mother would certainly count as a humiliation.
But how could Zhao Qingfeng allow Feng’s mother to be bullied?
He understood one principle: strike first to gain the upper hand, or suffer later.
Ordinary people in such situations would be passive and end up being bullied, left with no solution.
But Zhao Qingfeng was different.
In both business and life, striking first was always better than reacting. Taking the initiative was a man’s choice.
“Look behind you!”
