After Breaking Off the Engagement I Married a Rugged Mountain Man and Was Spoiled Like a Treasure in Three Days Chapter 22

Chapter 22

Qin Feng lowered his gaze and glanced at his little wife, then didn’t respond to her. Instead, he took her and sat down at a wonton stall.

Taohua wanted to leave, but the vendor had already come over to greet them, so Taohua couldn’t bring herself to walk away and had no choice but to sit back down.

“Hello, guests,” the vendor said in a loud voice. “Would you like the meat-filled or vegetarian ones?”

Taohua was about to say vegetarian, but Qin Feng spoke first: “Two bowls of meat-filled ones.”

“Alright,” the vendor called to the woman making the wontons, “Two bowls of meat-filled wontons!”

But as soon as the vendor walked away, Taohua leaned in to ask quietly, “The meat ones must be expensive, right? How much are they per bowl?”

Qin Feng refused to tell her: “Not much, just eat and see if you like them. If you don’t think they’re good, we won’t come to this stall next time.”

While they were talking, a person at the table next to them asked the vendor for the price.

Taohua overheard it.

She widened her eyes in surprise and looked at Qin Feng in disbelief:

“Five wen per bowl for the meat ones! A pound of meat is only ten wen, and rice is only three wen per pound. This is too expensive, Brother Qin.

How about we don’t eat here? Or let the vendor change mine to vegetarian. Yours can be meat, the vegetarian ones are only two wen per bowl.”

“Then why should I eat the meat one, and you eat the vegetarian one? Aren’t we husband and wife?”

Taohua was caught off guard: “We… we are definitely husband and wife, the village chief even helped us write a marriage certificate.”

“Then that’s settled, isn’t it?” Qin Feng knew that Taohua had suffered a lot before. Now that she was his wife, he didn’t want her to continue living as she had before.

“We’re husband and wife, so from now on, whatever I eat, you’ll eat too. It’s only ten wen, I can afford it.”

“Mm,” Taohua replied, her heart full of joy.

When the meat wontons arrived, she didn’t care about the price anymore.

Since it was her first time trying them, she ate with great enjoyment.

She originally thought they would go home after eating, but to her surprise, Qin Feng had no intention of going back. He directly took her to a cloth stall.

This time, Taohua didn’t refuse, because she understood that clothing and food were different.

A piece of clothing could be worn for several years, and buying cloth to make clothes was necessary.

She had already asked Qin Feng before, and she knew that all of Qin Feng’s clothes were made at this very shop.

Each piece of clothing required a payment, so it was better for her to buy fabric and make it at home.

In the end, she bought two pieces of cloth—one blue and one green—so that either of them could wear these colors.

Just as they were about to leave after buying the cloth, a woman from the shop suddenly pulled open the curtain and hurriedly walked out.

“Brother Qin,” the woman stopped right in front of Qin Feng, “I heard the voice and thought it was you, and sure enough, you’ve come. Why didn’t you come to get clothes made this time? I didn’t see you looking for me.”

Taohua glanced at the unfamiliar woman in front of her, then looked at Qin Feng, and a strange feeling suddenly welled up in her heart.

She didn’t know that the seamstress who made his clothes was so beautiful. Moreover…

The way the seamstress spoke made it seem like they were very familiar with each other.

“Brother Qin,” Taohua pulled on the corner of Qin Feng’s clothes, gathering the courage to speak, “You… tell her, say that from now on, all your clothes will be made by your wife.”

As soon as Taohua said this, there was no need for Qin Feng to speak. The seamstress immediately understood.

She secretly sized up Taohua, and when she looked back at Qin Feng, her tone became somewhat disappointed:

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen Brother Qin. So, it turns out Brother Qin has already married. It looks like I won’t have to spend extra money on tailoring clothes anymore.”

Qin Feng simply nodded and didn’t say anything else, quickly bidding farewell.

But on the way home, Taohua felt uneasy. She had held it in for a long time, but in the end, she couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Unable to resist, she asked Qin Feng, “Brother Qin, I want to ask you something. Are you really not close with the seamstress from earlier?”

“Not close.”

Not close? Taohua pursed her lips and asked again, “Then why did she talk like that? She said you used to go find her.”

Qin Feng furrowed his brows slightly: “You misunderstood, Taohua. I did go to her for clothes before. But I never went to see her privately; it was always through the shopkeeper.”

“Then…” Taohua frowned, “Does she like you?”

Qin Feng was momentarily stunned. How could his little wife say such things so openly?

He chuckled, “I don’t know. I know there’s a seamstress, but I hardly ever talked to her.”

“Really?” Taohua looked up at Qin Feng, her eyes wide and round.

Qin Feng looked at her and suddenly thought his little wife looked like a little wolf cub—soft and fierce. He couldn’t help but want to reach out and ruffle her head.

But she had carefully combed her hair when they left in the morning, so he couldn’t bring himself to mess it up.

He hummed in agreement and said, “Really. When have I ever lied to you?”

“That’s more like it!” Taohua gave Qin Feng one more look, slightly pouting, her voice very low, “I’m your wife, so you can only like me!”
