Chapter 9: Surprisingly, Her Wishes Came True
But Peach Blossom wasn’t familiar with Qin Feng’s body, and even though she gathered her courage, she didn’t touch the right place.
Her heart was pounding, but she still mustered her strength to remain calm: “Well… how about we round off the room?”
Qin Feng didn’t expect that the shy little girl, who blushed so easily and spoke in a soft, delicate voice, would have such boldness.
He had been holding himself back, but with her touch, he couldn’t help but react.
However, today wasn’t the right time.
He furrowed his brows, gently pulled her hand away, and in a hoarse voice said, “Let’s talk about it later. Sleep now.”
Peach Blossom’s heart sank. She had taken the initiative, yet he still didn’t want her…
Had she done something wrong? Or was it that he actually found her reputation distasteful?
Knowing that Qin Feng would be heading up the mountain the next day, Peach Blossom originally planned to wake up early to make him breakfast.
But before it even got light, Qin Feng had already left.
When he got up, Peach Blossom was still in a dazed sleep, but when she saw him getting up, she instinctively tried to sit up to get dressed.
However, before she could even reach her clothes, Qin Feng gently pressed her back down.
“It’s still dark outside, sleep a little longer. After I leave, make sure to lock the door. I should be back before dark.”
Peach Blossom had intended to insist on getting up because she didn’t want her man to go hungry to work, but she had moved too quickly earlier, and the water had come rushing out.
She realized the bed might be stained, so she didn’t dare to struggle any further and obediently lay back in the blankets.
But she didn’t continue sleeping. Instead, she stayed alert, listening to the sounds outside.
She could hear Qin Feng heading to the kitchen, busying himself with something.
When the sounds from the kitchen faded away, she finally crawled out of bed, holding her stomach.
After changing the sheets and putting on her clothes, it was already starting to get light outside.
By this time, Peach Blossom felt a bit hungry.
When she went to the kitchen to uncover the pot to make herself some food, she discovered that the sweet potatoes had already been cooked.
Though the part stuck to the bottom of the pot was a bit burnt, the sweet potato was large enough to be enough for Peach Blossom’s two meals.
At that moment, her heart felt both sour and sweet.
The sweetness was from the fact that this man didn’t want her to wake up early and busy herself. He not only didn’t want her to serve him, but he had even made her breakfast.
The sour part was that he was so kind, but he still wouldn’t touch her, wouldn’t treat her as a real wife.
With this mixture of sour and sweet emotions, Peach Blossom ate half of the sweet potato.
After eating, she put the soiled bed sheet into a basket, planning to take it to the river to wash.
Although there was water at home, the basin was too small. It worked for washing one or two pieces of thin clothing, but washing a bed sheet was a bit difficult.
However, she went there a bit late, and by the time she arrived at the river, there was no good spot left.
While walking downstream, she suddenly heard Sun Xiaolan’s voice:
“Peach Blossom, over here! I have a spot here, you can come squeeze in with me.”
The water downstream was shallow, and Peach Blossom didn’t want to go there unless it was absolutely necessary.
But when she heard Sun Xiaolan call her, she immediately grabbed the basket and went toward her.
While Peach Blossom was washing the bed sheet, Sun Xiaolan noticed a bloodstain on it.
This girl had no shame, smiling as she asked Peach Blossom: “So, how was it? Was it comfortable last night?”
As soon as Peach Blossom heard this, her face immediately darkened, and she even stopped scrubbing the bed sheet.
Sun Xiaolan sensed something was off and lowered her voice to ask: “What’s wrong? Was he too big and uncomfortable for you?”
“No…” Peach Blossom bit her lip and said in a low voice, “He… he didn’t even want to touch me.”
“Ah?” Sun Xiaolan’s mouth dropped open in surprise, “You’re so beautiful, with such soft skin, how could he not want to touch you? Is it him who’s not capable? Wait, if he didn’t touch you, then what’s up with this bloodstain?”
Peach Blossom felt a lump in her throat and said, “It’s my monthly blood. It came unexpectedly, and I didn’t even know it until he saw it and told me. When night came, I saw he didn’t want to touch me, so I tried to touch him first, but he pulled my hand away and said we should talk about it later.”
The more Peach Blossom talked, the more aggrieved she felt. With red eyes, she asked Sun Xiaolan: “Do you think he dislikes me?”
“Hahaha!” Sun Xiaolan burst out laughing, “Are you stupid, Peach Blossom?”
Peach Blossom was confused: “What’s wrong? Didn’t you say sometimes we have to take the initiative?”
“Hahaha,” Sun Xiaolan laughed even harder, “Silly girl. It’s my fault I didn’t explain it clearly yesterday. You can’t do it when you’re on your period! Do you understand? Think about it, how could you do anything when you’re like that?!”
Peach Blossom thought it over carefully, and her face turned bright red all of a sudden.
“It seems… I misunderstood him. He was just protecting me.”
“Of course! Silly girl! Good thing you ran into me today, otherwise you’d be sulking all alone. No wonder I thought your face looked so bad earlier. Now that you understand the misunderstanding, you should be happy, right?”
“Mm!” Peach Blossom nodded, her face immediately lighting up with a smile, “Let me tell you, this morning, he even left me food. I was planning to…”
Before Peach Blossom could finish, someone interrupted with a sarcastic tone:
