Chapter 101: Baby Doesn’t Like It

Ruan Li felt the warm breath of Fu Huaizhou on her neck. She had never heard him say things like this before, and it left her flustered.

Although Fu Huaizhou had occasionally whispered suggestive things to her at night, they were usually limited to commands like “Sit up” or “Don’t cover yourself.” Even calling her “wife” or “baby” was reserved strictly for bedtime.

“Why are you so…” Ruan Li couldn’t finish her sentence because the word she had in mind didn’t quite fit Fu Huaizhou’s usual demeanor.

Fu Huaizhou chuckled softly, not feeling that there was anything wrong with his behavior.

“Baby, you don’t like it?” he asked while pulling at the hem of Ruan Li’s dress.

“No…” Ruan Li’s body was going weak, but she was speaking the truth this side of Fu Huaizhou was utterly irresistible. After all, who could resist the icy exterior of a man melting into heated words?

A memory from a few years ago suddenly flashed through her mindt he two of them had been just as passionate in a hotel room back then.

As expected, this time they moved from the bed to the vanity in the bathroom. The one of a kind wedding dress got splattered with unidentifiable droplets, but even in front of the bathroom mirror, Fu Huaizhou did not take it off.

In the haze of her exhaustion, Ruan Li realized why Fu Huaizhou insisted on installing handrails and a full-length mirror in the bathroom when they were redecorating.

It turned out it was all to satisfy his private desires.

By the time everything ended, the sky was already turning light. Fu Huaizhou noticed Ruan Li had fallen into a deep sleep, lips slightly chapped, so he went downstairs to get her a glass of water.

His footsteps were quiet, the servants had all gone back to rest, but somehow, his son, Fu Chengjing, who was sleeping in the nursery, sensed him.

“Daddy, you’re up so early.” Fu Chengjing was in his pajamas, holding the whale plushie that Ruan Li had bought him.

“Yes, go back to bed,” Fu Huaizhou responded flatly, not about to explain that he hadn’t actually slept. Otherwise, his curious son would pepper him with endless questions.

Following his father’s figure down the hall to the master bedroom, Fu Chengjing peeked inside.

He saw his mother curled up, fast asleep on the big bed, and he looked up at his father with wide eyes. “Daddy, I want to go back to sleep too.”

“Go ahead.” Fu Huaizhou’s tone was calm as he held the water glass.

Fu Chengjing pointed toward the master bedroom with his small hand. “Can I sleep with you and mommy?”

“No.” Fu Huaizhou was firm. “Tonight, mommy belongs to daddy you came later.”

Although Fu Chengjing didn’t quite understand the word “later,” he got the general idea. He reached out, trying to tug on the hem of his dad’s robe for a silent plea.

But the next moment, the master bedroom door shut in his face. This was a scene that had played out many times before, so Fu Chengjing simply hugged his plushie and dejectedly went back to his own room.

He comforted himself silently mommy would definitely come into his room in the morning to kiss him awake, a habit they had maintained for over two years.

Unfortunately, this time was different.

It was nearly noon when Ruan Li finally woke up, feeling as if a truck had run her over. Opening her eyes, she saw Fu Huaizhou lying beside her, looking remarkably refreshed.

“Good morning, baby,” he greeted her with a kiss on the forehead.

Ruan Li stretched lazily, reaching for her phone on the bed. Her hand hit something hot, and she jerked back in surprise.

“Fu Huaizhou, you really need some cooling medicine,” she teased, glancing at him with disbelief.

Unbothered, Fu Huaizhou simply flipped over, wrapping his arms around her as she tried to escape the bed. “Not necessary.”

Meanwhile, downstairs, Fu Chengjing was eating lunch with a pitiful look on his face. He asked the butler, “Why aren’t mommy and daddy coming down to eat?”

The maids, all fond of the little boy, kept quiet, knowing better than to spill any details.

“Little master, you’ll be going to the Shi family today,” one of them said.

Fu Chengjing didn’t mind. He loved visiting his uncles, and spending time between his grandparents and uncles had become part of his weekly routine.

By the time he came back home in the evening, he finally saw his mother.

Ruan Li was leaning against Fu Huaizhou, both of them sitting on the sofa. It was clear she was sulking, while Fu Huaizhou was patiently comforting her.

“Mommy!” Fu Chengjing called, climbing into her lap with a small hint of grievance.

“My baby Cheng,” Ruan Li responded, stroking his hair.

“Yes!” he answered eagerly, rubbing his face against her in affection.

As Ruan Li inhaled his soft, milky scent, she felt a pang of reluctance.

“What’s wrong?” Fu Huaizhou asked, his hands still gently massaging her waist.

She glanced back at him with a slightly annoyed expression. “I was just thinking, if little Jing grows up to be as stoic and dull as you, then I’ll miss how cute he was when he was little. I could kiss him as much as I wanted.”

Fu Chengjing, hearing this, wanted to tell his mommy that he also wished to stay with her forever. But it was clear that, one day, he would grow up to be as tall as his dad.

Suddenly, a mischievous idea came to Ruan Li’s mind. “Maybe I should have another one?”

Fu Huaizhou caught her excited hands and firmly said, “No, one is enough.”

His gaze shifted to Fu Chengjing, who was still snuggling in Ruan Li’s arms. One child was already taking up enough of her time another would leave no space for him at all.

Ruan Li glanced at her son, thinking that mentioning a sibling might make him anxious about sharing her love. She was about to apologize when

“I want a little sister!” Fu Chengjing’s face lit up with rare excitement.

He often played with Fu Yu, who always teased him about not having a little sister. Now, he was genuinely curious what it would be like.

Fu Huaizhou’s long fingers gently pressed against his forehead, putting a distance between his son and Ruan Li’s chest. “Fu Chengjing, you’re not a little child anymore.”

“And you’re not getting a sister,” he added with finality. Ever since Fu Chengjing’s unexpected arrival, he had no plans for another child.

“Not happening.” Fu Chengjing’s lips trembled, and Ruan Li couldn’t stop laughing as she leaned into Fu Huaizhou’s embrace.

But, as fate would have it, a month later, when the family doctor came to perform a routine check-up

Ruan Li found out she was pregnant again.
