Chapter 113: I Want a Kiss Too
Although the little girl wasn’t as fussy as when she was in her mom’s arms, she still reached out to tug at the person in front of her for comfort.
Fu Chengjing wasn’t surprised. Every morning, the first thing this little munchkin did when she woke up was cry out that she was hungry, then she’d start to rub and snuggle up to whoever was nearby. If he and Lingying hadn’t been sharing a room recently him putting her to sleep before going to bed himself he would have thought she was sneaking off at night to play, given how hungry she always was when she woke up.
The chat was exploding
“Wait, the two kids sleep together? Can I sleep in the middle?!”
“Oh my gosh, the cutest moment of the year!”
“Am I the only one who thinks the little girl is even cuter than little Jing? Younger kids are always the best!”
“Aren’t the parents being a bit irresponsible? What if the kids need help in the middle of the night?”
“You all seriously think they don’t have any nannies? I bet the hallway is lined with staff, just waiting.”
Because Fu Chengjing wasn’t yet strong enough to help Lingying wash up properly, this task wasn’t his responsibility. As soon as the door opened, the cameras switched to the hallway feed.
There was little Chengjing, clutching his sleepy little sister as he made his way down the hall. Staff were busy cleaning, but they were clearly used to seeing the kids walking around on their own. No one rushed over to help; they simply focused on their tasks.
“Where’s he taking her? Out to play?”
“He’s definitely going to find Ruan Li… They did say she was hungry.”
Sure enough, Fu Chengjing stopped in front of the master bedroom and knocked. After a few knocks, the door opened from the inside.
A tall man with sharp, cool features, clearly just awake, stood there. His slightly open collar revealed a bit of tanned skin and a straight collarbone. He looked down at the boy, who knocked with all his strength, his tone gentle.
“Fu Chengjing, if you want a key to the master bedroom, just say so.”
No need to be so roundabout.
“I do want one,” Fu Chengjing replied sincerely.
Fu Huaizhou raised an eyebrow, amused by the sight of his son in his blue pajamas.
“Sure, keep wanting.”
The chat went wild as soon as the man appeared
“Haha, I never imagined that the cold CEO and his son would interact like this. I thought it’d be more like in novels three-year-olds speaking multiple languages and being top hackers, but nope, just a cute little kid.”
“Fu Huaizhou is still as handsome as ever. Isn’t there a saying that men gain weight after having kids? Apparently not for him.”
“Guess CEOs have strict fitness regimens. I’m so envious.”
“Shouldn’t we be envious of Fu Huaizhou? Ruan Li’s face and figure are total goals.”
Fu Huaizhou’s gaze softened as he looked down at the two little ones. Lingying, snuggled in her brother’s arms, looked up at him pitifully.
“Daddy… Lingying is hungry, I want Mommy.”
Her chubby little hands reached out, and Huaizhou bent down to scoop her up into his arms.
“Okay, Daddy will make you some milk.”
At the mention of “milk,” Lingying’s food radar activated, and she immediately lit up, snuggling up to her father’s chin, brushing against the bit of stubble that had grown overnight.
“It tickles” Lingying giggled, her laughter bright and sweet.
Huaizhou’s lips twitched upward as he settled Lingying on his left arm, heading off to prepare her milk.
Lingying, sitting obediently in his arms, looked on with shining eyes.
“I’ve been melted by the cuteness. How can a little girl be so adorable?”
“Whoa, it’s actually Fu Huaizhou preparing the milk. So, he really is the hands on dad we heard about.”
“I’m used to seeing families favoring sons, but here we have one favoring the daughter!”
“Where’s Ruan Li? Is she still sleeping… This mom has it too easy.”
The camera switched back. With his dad out of the way, Fu Chengjing snuck into the master bedroom. On the bed, a woman’s face was hidden under the blanket, with only her shiny black hair spread across the sheets. Because of the filming, it was inconvenient for Ruan Li to nurse, so the morning feed had completely transitioned to formula prepared by Dad.
“Yay!” whispered Fu Chengjing, climbing onto the bed and lying down right where his dad had been, drifting back into a cozy morning nap.
“What?? little Jing is so clingy??”
“I’m telling you, the atmosphere in Ruan Li’s home is way too harmonious. I can’t wait to see Fu Huaizhou’s face when he finds his spot taken.”
Before long, Huaizhou returned with his daughter, who was holding her bottle. He set Lingying on the bed, and she wiggled her way over to her mom’s side.
“Fu Chengjing, to the foot of the bed.”
Seeing the bump in his spot, Huaizhou didn’t need to guess who it was.
Chengjing, of course, didn’t move, and Huaizhou didn’t press him. Instead, he sat right beside him, encircling both kids in his arms. It wasn’t until Yingying had finished half her bottle that Ruan Li finally stirred, giving both her children a gentle kiss on the cheek.
“What about me?” asked the man who had been watching it all.
Not wanting to argue with him, Ruan Li leaned over to kiss him, but suddenly paused as she remembered something and pushed him away.
“We’re on a livestream.”
Only then did Fu Huaizhou seem to realize it, calmly adjusting his robe.
“What’s there that we can’t see? No need to be so distant.”
“Whoever says they’re not a loving couple needs to watch this so sweet!”
“Where’s my phone?” Ruan Li muttered, searching through the sheets. It had been taken away by Huaizhou halfway through the night.
Just as she found it, the screen lit up, and someone with sharp eyes in the chat caught a glimpse of something.
“What was that flash just now?!?!”
“Did it look like a photo of Fu Huaizhou with little hair ties or clips?! Ruan Li, show us, please!”
Unfazed, Huaizhou casually took the empty bottle from Lingying to wash it. Breakfast had already been prepared.
“Li, come down for breakfast.”
Ruan Li lazily changed clothes before heading downstairs. Before meeting Fu Huaizhou, she’d been a strict no breakfast, late riser. Now, breakfast was non negotiable.
“Why is Fu calling her such a mushy nickname??”
“Alright, so much for that cool and detached image.”
Yet most of the chat was filled with “So sweet!” and “I’m dying from the cuteness!” with a few complaining, “How come they didn’t invite little Jing to breakfast?”
The three sat at the table, while little Lingying, already full, was lounging on the sofa, chewing on her fingers. Everything looked serene.
Suddenly, the front door opened, and a tall figure stepped in, his lazy voice calling out
“Little Jing, Uncle’s here to take you fishing!”
A handsome face appeared on the stream, and for a second, everyone wondered who it was. But as soon as they saw clearly
“Holy, it’s Shi Xun!!!”
“Wait! Why is Shi Xun the uncle?!”
